The purpose of this transcendental phenomenological study was to describe the nuanced academic lived experiences of students engaging in online asynchronous gamification activities at Central Valley Community College District (CVCCD), a mid-sized community college located in California’s Central Valley. This quantitative, causal-comparative study investigated the number of academic credits lost among military-connected high school students based on their geographic mobility: those who moved zero, one, or more than one time during their high school years, when controlling for the students’ resilience, as measured by the Current Experience Scale. Understanding the impact of geographic mobility on the resilience and academic credits of military-connected high school students is critical, as it exemplifies the unique challenges and obstacles this student population faces. The Kodály Method, a well-established and effective music education strategy, offers numerous classroom benefits. Rising ocean temperatures and increasingly frequent marine heatwaves threaten the physiological performance and survival of marine larvae. This study quantifies the thermal tolerance, respiration, and swimming behavior of Chthamalus fissus cyprid larvae to establish a baseline for understanding their vulnerability under future climate scenarios. Larvae were collected from the Scripps Pier in La Jolla, CA and exposed to a range of temperatures (12–50°C, dependent on the experiment) to assess oxygen consumption, mortality, and swimming speeds. Oxygen consumption rates increased significantly with temperature, peaking at 30°C, with cyprids exposed to temperatures above 26°C showing significantly higher respiration rates than those below …

This Comment will focus on answering [the] question: are emotional distress damages available under the ADA? First, Part II of this Comment reviews the history of statutes addressing students with disabilities and explore the unavailable remedies when schools fail to uphold their responsibilities under the IDEA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), and the ADA. Next, Part III argues that emotional distress damages are available under the ADA, based on the statute’s historical origin. Because AI is sufficiently unique from other regulated technologies, Congress should ensure that a federal agency regulating AI retains authority to interpret and effectuate its organic statute by incorporating Chevron-like deference into the statute, thus insulating the agency from judicial challenge. Part II of this Case Note introduces fundamental background on the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) and the Chevron doctrine, both of which are necessary to contextualize Loper Bright and the present argument. Part III reviews Loper Bright’s majority, dissenting, and concurring opinions, and describes how experts predict the decision will fundamentally change agency statutory interpretation and operations. …

This Article supplements scholarly commentary on the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2021 decision in TransUnion LLC v. Ramirez by examining some critical issues that the underlying litigation in the lower courts raised but that the Supreme Court did not address in its review. Although scholars have analyzed and critiqued the Supreme Court’s Ramirez decision, the litigation as a whole has been neglected. The Ramirez trial and the Ninth Circuit opinions that preceded Supreme Court review are fertile vehicles for reflecting on important issues that arise when class actions are tried to a jury.

This study investigated the relationship between training time, performance, and concussion symptoms among Team USA bobsleigh and luge athletes during a four-week training season. Recognizing the high physical demands and potential risks associated with sledding sports, the study aimed to understand the prevalence of concussion-related experiences and how training schedules might influence athletic performance and symptomology. Repeated measures quantitative design was employed using session-level survey data submitted by athletes following daily training sessions. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire assessing variables such as performance rating, fatigue, alertness, training intensity, sleep quality, and concussion symptoms. Living systems display complex behaviors driven by physical forces as well as decision-making. Hydrodynamic theories hold promise for simplified universal descriptions of socially generated collective behaviors. However, the construction of such theories is often divorced from the data they should describe. Here, we develop and apply a data-driven pipeline that links micromotives to macrobehavior by augmenting hydrodynamics with individual preferences that guide motion. We illustrate this pipeline on a case study of residential dynamics in the United States, for which census and sociological data are available. Single mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) face significant difficulties. Challenges faced by these women have notable impacts on their psychological well-being and subsequently their families. Self-efficacy is a key construct to understanding psychological well-being and potentially a key area of intervention for these mothers. This study examined the factors of health care alliance, perceived social supports, and religious coping on maternal self-efficacy in 87 single mothers of children with autism. Findings from a regression analysis suggested that these variables have predictive power regarding maternal self-efficacy, F (4, 82) = 3.721, p =.008. Though when analyzed individually,© no …
