Background: The use of estimands in clinical trials was formalised with the adoption of the final International Conference on Harmonisation E9 Addendum on Estimands and Sensitivity Analysis in Clinical Trials (ICH E9(R1) Addendum) in November 2019. The declared objective of the ICH E9(R1) Addendum is to bring clarity and transparency to the research question of interest. For this to be achieved, the estimand must be described in accordance with the requirements of the ICH E9(R1) Addendum so that the target treatment effect is clear to all stakeholders. Contemporary theatrical adaptation involves deconstructing, reimagining, and rewriting historical plays for modern audiences. Adaptation appropriates theatrical conventions, changes the lens through which the audience may view the play, and offers new entry points into thinking and practice. Adaptation asks, “why this source as theatre now?” and proposes that history provides tools for engagement with contemporary issues. By employing a Practice as Research (PaR) methodology, I will investigate the art of historical adaptation and adapt No Exit, a 1945 existentialist play by Jean-Paul Sartre, through the lenses of constructivism and performance studies. Exploring The Causal Links Between Esg, R&D, And Firm Performance: Evidence From The Us Technology And Food Companies, Semra Boga, Gozde Bozkurt, Hasan Sadik Tatli, Tom Gillpatrick

This study examines the causal relationships between ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) compliance, R&D expenditures, and financial performance in the technology and food sectors in the US. A panel dataset from 2012 – 2021 from the Thomson Reuters database was analysed for 12 food and 18 technology companies. The findings show that there are different causal relationships between sectors. While R&D investments in the technology sector positively affect firm performance by increasing ESG compliance, firm performance in the food sector directs ESG compliance, encouraging R&D investments. Knowledge in organizations continues to be lost during attrition (Cox & Overbay, 2023). The Baby Boomers are retiring (Cox & Overbay, 2023), younger generations move (Brown, 2023), and self-interested employees hide knowledge (Ahmad & Karim, 2019; Anand et al., 2022) Collaborative learning teams (CLTs) increase knowledge transfer, which retains organizational knowledge (Ahmad & Karim, 2019). This mixed methods research was undertaken to investigate what contributors made a group in an organization into a CLT. Cloud‐to‐ground (CG) lightning is a major source of summer wildfire ignition in the western United States (WUS). However, future projections of lightning are uncertain since lightning is not directly simulated by most global climate models. To address this issue, we use convolutional neural network (CNN)‐based parameterizations of daily June‐September CG lightning. CNN parameterizations of daily CG lightning occurrence at each grid cell use fields of three thermodynamic variables—ratio of surface Moist Static Energy (MSE) to 500 hPa saturation MSE, 700–500 hPa lapse rate, and 500 hPa relative humidity. A majority of Indians do not have effective access to legal services, despite the constitutional promise of access to justice. There are two intertwined reasons for this: the unavailability of a sufficient number of good quality lawyers, and the high costs of accessing legal services. The Indian legal profession is highly unequal, with ‘prestige’ being the currency of upward professional mobility. The professional regulator, the Bar Council of India, simply lacks the capacity to regulate quality. Tabletop Isotropic Source For Neutron Science Training Poster, Reu/Fri Program Physics And Astronomy, Jarom Peterson

To develop affordable tabletop neutron sources for neutron science research and education, GS20 scintillator glass doped with Americium-241 is being evaluated inside the BYU Isotropic Fission Chamber (IFC). Our 1985 sample was assessed for radiation damage and found to be in good condition. Neutrons from Am-241 interactions were optically flagged and observed using the IFC in conjunction with the LGB-PVT Neutron Pseudo Spectrometer Detector. Data was recorded via a CAEN desktop digitizer. The analysis code continues to be developed, and the neutron detector will be calibrated using deuterium-deuterium (DD) interactions in the future.

BACKGROUND: The Stay Safe Study is the first observational prospective cohort study investigating fentanyl test strip (FTS) use by people who use drugs (PWUD) and distribution by community organizations that provide harm reduction services (e.g., naloxone distribution) in three states (Kentucky, New York, and Ohio). The purpose of this paper is to describe the study design, along with implementation successes and challenges. A related goal is to provide recommendations and encourage researchers to undertake multi-state and multilevel studies of FTS use and distribution.

This quality improvement staff education project addressed the inconsistent use of the Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment (CIWA) and Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) assessment tools among nursing staff in an adult psychiatric and addictions unit located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Inconsistent use of the CIWA and COWS tools may lead to unfavorable patient outcomes. The goal of this project was to enhance nursing familiarity, confidence, and sense of importance in using CIWA and COWS tools for assessing and managing withdrawal symptoms in patients with co-occurring depression and substance use disorders. The purpose of this study was to identify player types that exist in the modern National Basketball Association (NBA), test whether player types are paid differently controlling for performance and other factors and construct successful rosters with cheaper payrolls.
We collected performance statistics and salary data for players and teams across five seasons (2018-19 to 2022-23). Cluster analysis is leveraged to group together player-seasons to identify the player types that exist in the NBA. Linear regression models are run to test for differences in pay by cluster membership while controlling for performance, age, and contractual details. Linear programming simulation models …

Systems and methods are provided herein for determining areas of low blood flow, low blood perfusion, suboptimal treatment perfusion, and/or likelihood of tumor recurrence. For example patient-specific methods are provided for identifying areas of low perfusion in an anatomy of interest (such as a vascular region). Angiography data corresponding to the anatomy of interest can be used to generate a modified three-dimensional (3D) model of the anatomy of interest, which represents a fluid flow system exhibiting variant flow patterns.
