This study explores the vulnerability of Indonesian women to the crime of human trafficking in Cambodia, analyzing its structural and patriarchal roots. Employing a qualitative methodology through literature review, the paper delineates how socio-economic disparities and limited employment opportunities in Indonesia drive women toward illegal job offers that ultimately result in exploitation. Human trafficking syndicates exploit traditional gender constructs and manipulate identities to entrap victims, even involving women as alleged perpetrators. Public trust in the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has experienced significant fluctuations due to allegations of misconduct, corruption, and excessive use of force. This study examines the relationship between public trust and compliance with Polri authority, particularly in the context of strained police-community relations. Drawing on procedural justice and restorative regulation theories, the research argues that trust directly influences voluntary compliance and that procedural justice alone is insufficient to repair legitimacy deficits. Instead, a dual model combining procedural fairness with restorative reconciliation, including acknowledgment of past harms and community dialogue is proposed as a more effective strategy for rebuilding trust. …

Deradicalizing high-risk terrorism inmates is a multifaceted and paradoxical challenge that has not been comprehensively addressed in criminological studies. This research seeks to fill the gaps in previous studies by focusing on the security challenges, personnel difficulties, and prison culture dynamics within super-maximum security facilities in their efforts to deradicalize terrorism inmates. The findings highlight three critical aspects of this complexity. First, the security measures in super-maximum security facilities emphasize the strict implementation of a one-inmate-per-cell system, which minimizes inmate interactions, adheres to high-security standards, and utilizes advanced technological systems. Summary This doctor of nursing practice (DNP) project aimed to improve depression care for minority patients in outpatient psychiatric settings by educating healthcare staff on the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) screening tool. The project utilized the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model to develop and implement a comprehensive education program for healthcare staff. Pretests and posttests were used to evaluate the impact of this education on the detection and management of depression. Endangered species are increasingly used as the target species in implementing and constructing new wildlife crossing structures (WCS). Highways in South Texas fragment the landscape and result in high road mortality for endangered species such as ocelots (Leopardus pardalis, a medium-sized spotted wild cat). In response, the Texas Department of Transportation constructed nine WCS on Farm-to-Market 106 (FM 106), a road which bisects Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge in Cameron County, Texas. We obtain spatially resolved kinematics with the Keck Cosmic Web Imager (KCWI) integral-field spectrograph for a sample of 14 massive (11 < log₁₀(M₍★₎/M☉) < 12) lensing early-type galaxies at z ∼ 0.15–0.35 from the Sloan Lens ACS (SLACS) Survey. We integrate kinematic maps within the galaxy effective radius and examine the rotational and dispersion velocities, showing that 11/14 can be classified as slow rotators. The data set is unprecedented for galaxy-scale strong lenses in terms of signal-to-noise ratio (S/N), sampling, and calibration, vastly superseding previous studies. We find the primary contributions to systematic uncertainties to be the stellar template library and wavelength range of the spectral fit. Systematics …

BACKGROUND: Primary results from the Optimize PRO study demonstrated that transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) with the cusp overlap technique (COT) resulted in low 30-day permanent pacemaker implantation (PPI) rates and no moderate or greater aortic regurgitation (AR).

Low back pain (LBP) is a global health issue that primarily affects underserved communities with limited access to healthcare. Osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) offers non-pharmacological, hands-on interventions that align with its core principle of holistic care. However, little is known about the feasibility and perception of OMT in rural Chimaltenango, Guatemala. This pilot study assesses the feasibility, effectiveness, and participant perception of osteopathic principles in managing LBP complaints.

This paper, adopting a perspective from the recent literature of “postcritique”, finds that criticism in librarianship can be constructively supplemented with other methodological approaches. Instead of exclusively using criticism to analyze, dismantle and find fault with texts, librarianship can expand its perspectives to find new reparative possibilities of care. Following the work of Nicholas Holm, Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick, Bruno Latour, Rita Felski and others, we can see that while criticism has thrived as a disposition in librarianship and elsewhere, recent scholarly interventions suggest that it is not the only possible approach. Analytical Characterization Of Artemisinin And Its Derivatives Using High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Electrochemistry Reduction, And Fluorescence, Faraja Ombwayo

Artemisinin and derivatives were subjected to 37°C and room temperature conditions. When HPLC-UV analysis of both conditions was performed, there were differences in both conditions which suggested that artemisinin and derivatives degrade at 37°C. When artemisinin was electrochemically reduced, new peaks were generated and LC-MS analysis of the reduced artemisinin indicated that either new molecules or molecular reorganization was formed. These electrochemical reduction molecules (products) were deemed analogous to the artemisinin reduction occurring in-vivo after oral administration. Fluorescence analysis of artemisinin and derivatives were performed in the presence of dipyridamole. Dipyridamole intensity was observed to decrease when artemisinin or its …

Herein, we report a visible-light-driven, cobalt-mediated, highly selective C–H arylation method to afford aryl-2,2′-bipyridine, a widely used class of ancillary ligands in transition metal catalysis. This arylation reaction exhibits good-to-excellent C6 selectivity for a variety of aryl groups, allowing for isolation of the 6-isomer in its pure form. Mechanistic studies provided evidence for the generation of an aryl radical by the joint action of [Co(bpy)₃] species and visible light, enabling arylation under mild conditions. People who strongly value family ties may see family support and interconnection as a reason to discourage women from seeking abortion. At the same time, sexist beliefs are often linked to negative views on abortion. Hostile and benevolent sexism are typically associated with anti-abortion sentiment; hostile sexism conceptualizes abortion as a challenge to traditional gender roles and benevolent sexism conceptualizes abortion as a rejection of women's "natural" role as mothers. DNA flow-stretching is a widely employed, powerful technique for investigating the mechanisms of DNA-binding proteins involved in compacting and organizing chromosomal DNA. We combine single-molecule DNA flow-stretching experiments with Brownian dynamics simulations to study the effect of the crowding agent polyethylene glycol (PEG) in these experiments. PEG interacts with DNA by an excluded volume effect, resulting in compaction of single, free DNA molecules in PEG solutions. In addition, PEG increases the viscosity of the buffer solution. Understanding linguistic and semantic processing in the human brain involves exploring intricate neural networks. However, it remains unclear whether and how the amygdala and hippocampus are involved in these processes. Here, we recorded single-neuron activity from the human amygdala and hippocampus while neurosurgical patients with intractable epilepsy performed various language tasks. Specifically, we recorded from 68 neurons in 7 patients for the visual language localizer task, 115 neurons in 12 patients for the auditory language localizer task, 88 neurons in 9 patients for the TIMIT task, and 51 neurons in 4 patients for the natural story task.
