Background

Physician burnout, particularly among female graduate medical education (GME) trainees, is a growing concern that affects physician wellness and patient safety. Professional coaching has shown promise in improving physician wellness. The Better Together Physician Coaching program (BT) is a web-based, group-coaching program, piloted using female GME trainees, aimed at improving key indicators of well-being, including burnout and impostor syndrome. In this qualitative study, we aimed to understand the challenges faced by female physician trainees shared in the pilot of the BT coaching intervention.

Background

In January 2022, the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1 exam became pass/fail and the transition to using USMLE Step 2 scores for residency interview screening appeared imminent. While this change was intended to result in holistic reviews of residency applicants, the impact remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to determine how USMLE scoring changes might affect female candidates and applicants from underrepresented groups (URM).

Constipation is a common condition among geriatric patients with different presenting symptoms and potential serious complications. Additionally, the condition causes a significant burden on our healthcare system. Here, we summarized recommendations from several societies, including the American College of Gastroenterology, American Geriatrics Society, and American Academy of Family Physicians to provide guidance on managing constipation with geriatric patients. This technology described herein relates to automated, intelligent analysis of log data from complex software systems. The technology employs a two-tiered Large Language Model (LLM) architecture to detect anomalies and generate context-rich incident reports. The first tier LLM performs a rapid, broad analysis of all incoming log streams to flag potential issues. Software applications distributed as identical copies may present a vulnerability because an exploit discovered in one instance could be replicated across others due to shared internal structures. This publication describes a method to address this vulnerability by generating unique software builds, and which in instances could be used for each download request. The method operates by compiling an application into an intermediate representation, such as a low level virtual machine intermediate representation (LLVM IR) bytecode. A system and method are disclosed for delivering information from a central controller to nanoscale sensors embedded within plant tissues and receiving information back from these sensors. The approach uses localized nanoparticles to encode binary or discrete signals, enabling remote monitoring and control of plant-associated nanoscale devices. The method preserves selective targeting of individual sensors without relying on long-range electromagnetic propagation, diffusion across large distances, or microcontrollers attached to each nanosensor. We study the Discrete Covering with Two Types of Radii problem motivated by its application in wireless networks. In this problem, the goal is to assign either small-range high frequency or large-range low frequency to each access point, maximizing the number of users in high-frequency regions while ensuring that each user is in the range of an access point. Unlike other weighted covering problems, our problem requires satisfying two simultaneous objectives, which calls for novel approaches that leverage the underlying geometry of the problem. Summary This project was an evidence-based staff education initiative to reduce alarm fatigue and enhance patient safety through telemetry optimization in an acute care setting. The core issue involved the overuse of continuous cardiac monitoring, which contributed to nonactionable alarms, alarm fatigue, workflow inefficiencies, delayed throughput, and increased costs. The project was a structured intervention delivered to 171 telemetry nurses across three inpatient units. Pretests and posttests measured changes in knowledge, intent, and practice. Results showed a 22.9% increase in knowledge, a 92% agreement regarding intention to follow discontinuation protocols, and a 10% overall reduction in practice of telemetry use …

The Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) mission, operational from 2002 to 2017, provided critical measurements of Earth's gravity field anomalies which have been extensively used to study groundwater and terrestrial water storage (TWS) dynamics. In this research, we utilize GRACE data to identify, model, and analyze potential climate parameters contributing to the reconstruction of TWS variability in the Aral Sea Basin region (ASB). We assess the impact of climate change and anthropogenic nature management on TWS change using a quantitative method. Overconfidence is often viewed as encouraging entrepreneurs and CEOs to follow risky strategies such as entering new markets, engaging in innovation, or pursuing mergers and acquisitions. While such undertakings can generate excess returns and profits, overconfidence is frequently offered as an explanation for why so many business ventures fail. However, we show that in a setting where the decision maker does not know whether success is possible, theoretically, overconfidence can also have a discouraging effect, causing one to give up too soon. In the 19th century, violent colonial military campaigns aimed to control Muslim wealth, lands, and capabilities, leading to the displacement and death of Muslims. Despite this, Muslims resisted, defending their righteous sons and defending their homeland. Europeans believed that the Qur'an, the primary source for instilling the spirit of sacrifice and redemption among Muslims, would prevent them from subjugating them. This belief was based on the belief that Muslims possessed Hussein, a martyr who set an example of sacrifice and redemption. This historical inevitability confirmed the victory of faith over injustice and evil.

Mysticism is a significant aspect of the Islamic religion, as it seeks to understand God and discover truths. Persian literature has a strong connection to mysticism, particularly in poems about the Prophet's Household. These themes became prominent after the Islamic Revolution, as Islamic rituals were revived. A study of Persian Hasani poetry revealed that poets used mystical terms like heart, longing, kindness, madness, and dignity to express their loyalty to Imam Hassan. They also called for abandoning the world as an obstacle to understanding God. The poems were distinguished by intellectual and moral richness, using rhetorical and aesthetic devices.
