Background Velocity-Based Training (VBT) is an emerging method in resistance training for objectively prescribing and monitoring training intensity and neuromuscular function. Given its growing popularity, assessing the validity and reliability of VBT devices is critical for strength and conditioning coaches. Objective The primary purpose of this review was twofold: (1) to identify and address methodological gaps in current assessments of VBT device validity and reliability, and (2) to propose and apply a novel, multi-layered, criterion-based framework—developed in collaboration with statisticians and domain experts—for evaluating these devices. The contributions of women to the printing trade during the hand press era have long been under- documented, leaving significant historical gaps in our understanding of early print culture. This article presents a project that uses ChatGPT-4o, a generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, to help bridge those gaps by identifying, analyzing, and contextualizing the work of women printers represented in the University of Notre Dame’s rare book collections.

We undertook a survey of Cornwall residents to understand their level of digital skills against a national baseline. The survey questions were designed to mirror the methodology of the Lloyds Bank Consumer Digital Index in order to gain Cornwall data against a national baseline . Consultation was undertaken with the Good Things Foundation and Digital Poverty alliance in the development of the survey questions. The Good Things Foundation provided three additional questions: “questions for digital inclusion” which we agreed to pilot as part of the survey.

Beef production is an important component of the world’s food supply, with production being near 59 million tons in 2023 (USDA, 2023). Enhancing our understanding of the factors influencing metabolism will lead to improvements in production efficiency. Using RNA-seq and WGCNA of longissimus muscle samples, gene expression and metabolic pathway analyses were performed to examine relationships with ultrasound and body mass variables. In this study, body weight (BW), ultrasound back fat (BF), ultrasound muscle depth (MD), and body condition score (BCS) were traits recorded for 18 cull beef cows. The privacy paradox, where individuals express privacy concerns yet continue to disclose personal information, has been widely studied in Western and Asian contexts, but remains underexplored in the Arab world. Background: The safety and efficacy of intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) before mechanical thrombectomy (MT) in acute ischemic stroke remain uncertain.

Methods: We comprehensively searched PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library from inception to May 30, 2025. Randomized controlled trials comparing IVT before MT versus MT alone in acute ischemic stroke were included. The primary outcome was excellent functional outcome (modified Rankin Scale score 0–1 at 90 days) and good functional outcome (modif ied Rankin Scale score 0–2). Secondary outcomes included successful recanalization, all-cause death, symptomatic, and any intracranial hemorrhage. Odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were pooled using …

The mammalian kidney contains numerous nephrons connected to the collecting ducts, and each nephron consists of a glomerulus, a proximal tubule, the loop of Henle (LoH), and a distal tubule. Folliculin (FLCN) is a causative gene for Birt-Hogg-Dubé syndrome, which is characterized by a variety of manifestations, including renal cysts and cancer. Although deletion of Flcn in the mouse collecting duct and distal nephron leads to cyst formation, its precise role in the entire nephron remains unclear. Decreased brain levels of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), an endogenously synthesized lipophilic antioxidant1,2, underpin encephalopathy in primary CoQ10 deficiencies3,4 and are associated with common neurodegenerative diseases and the ageing process5,6. CoQ10 supplementation does not increase CoQ10 pools in the brain or in other tissues. The recent discovery of the mammalian CoQ10 headgroup synthesis pathway, in which 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase-like protein (HPDL) makes 4-hydroxymandelate (4-HMA) to synthesize the CoQ10 headgroup precursor 4-hydroxybenzoate (4-HB)7, offers an opportunity to pharmacologically restore CoQ10 synthesis and mechanistically treat CoQ10 deficiencies. A comprehensive postmortem examination is an essential component of a work-up after stillbirth. Its findings can support accurate counseling of parents about causes and risk of recurrence. It also supports providers' decisions about most appropriate testing and management plans for future pregnancy to prevent recurrence. Informing parents about fetal autopsy and obtaining their consent is challenging, and conducting a fetal autopsy requires expertise that is, not universally available. Newer non-invasive or minimally invasive methods such as postmortem MRI and targeted biopsies can replace or supplement autopsies, but one must recognize that expertise in these methods is likewise not broadly available. …

The evolution of prenatal genetic testing has transformed prenatal diagnosis into a more precise and individualized approach. Advanced tools such as chromosomal microarray analysis and exome sequencing have enabled the prenatal diagnosis of more genetic conditions, including anomalies and disorders eligible for fetal therapy. When in utero therapy is considered, accurate genetic diagnosis is essential for guiding providers' and patients' decisions regarding management and outcomes. This chapter reviews available prenatal genetic screens and tests, their indications, and counseling strategies. It also explores genetic abnormalities associated with fetal structural anomalies and their implications for decision-making in fetal interventions.

This study was conducted for Kaniksu Land Trust to provide insight into the characteristics of attendees of the 2025 Clark Fork River Pedal & Farm Tour hosted in Trout Creek, Montana. Forty-two attendees of the event completed the survey. Results show that the majority of respondents resided outside of Sanders County, with 71% from Montana (but only 7% from Sanders County itself) and 29% visiting from other US states, primarily Idaho. Out-of-county respondents spent an average of 2.3 nights in Sanders County, reporting a total spending of $8,732.00, mostly in hotel/motel/bed and breakfasts and restaurants/bars.
