Mindfulness has emerged as a holistic approach that enhances psychological well-being and physiological functioning. This comprehensive review explores the relationship between mindfulness and major chronic conditions, including Diabetes Mellitus (DM), Hypertension (HTN), Insomnia, Obesity, Gastrointestinal Disorders (such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Inflammatory Bowel Disease), and Migraine. Evidence suggests that mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) significantly improve disease management and quality of life across various patient populations. The review highlights recent randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses to provide an updated synthesis of the impact of mindfulness on symptom severity, metabolic parameters, inflammatory markers, and behavioral outcomes. Background: Heart failure (HF) is a morbid illness with high mortality rate. Patients with HF necessitate a cardiac rehabilitation (CR) that is a planned, lasting care, which is highly cost effective in lowering hospital admission and improving quality of life. Background: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and its predictors among patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in Saudi Arabia. Methods: Analysis was conducted using electronic health records (EHR) of 706 adult COPD patients who visited outpatient pulmonary clinics between 1 August 2023, and 14 September 2024. GERD diagnosis was collected from EHR as well as endoscopic results, symptoms, and medication use. COPD was defined according to the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) criteria. INTRODUCTION: The Box and Blocks Test (BBT) is a widely used measure of manual dexterity, but its validity and reliability as an outcome measure for upper extremity function in children with Traumatic Elbow Injuries (TEI) require further investigation. This study aimed to evaluate the BBT's test-retest reliability, sensitivity to functional change (construct validity), and discriminative validity in this specific pediatric population. METHOD: Twenty-nine children (75.9% male; age range: 6-16 years) with TEI participated in a prospective study. Lacertus syndrome (LS) is a condition characterized by median nerve entrapment at the Lacertus Fibrosus (LF), a fibrous band distal to the elbow joint, presenting with pain, numbness, and weakness in the forearm and hand. Due to its rarity, LS is often overlooked in the diagnosis of these symptoms. Management can be surgical or non- surgical, depending on preference and symptom severity. The term “too big to fail” became ubiquitous following the 2007-2008 Global Financial Crisis. Lawmakers, regulators, and scholars wondered if there was a better way forward than issuing an array of ad hoc bailout packages to large financial institutions. Congress, in enacting the Dodd-Frank Act, sought to address the concern by creating a new regulatory framework to resolve large financial institutions in an orderly manner.

First, Congress required too-big-to-fail institutions to file “living wills,” essentially planning documents that describe the institution’s path to a safe failure under the Bankruptcy Code—a failure that would not impact system-wide financial stability. Second, Congress …

Vitamin D insufficiency (VDI) is primarily determined by serum levels of calcidiol, which serves as a biomarker for the less abundant but most potent bioactive metabolite, calcitriol. However, population studies often show discordance between calcidiol and calcitriol. Here, a genetically diverse population of 7 inbred mouse strains was used to investigate the role of interindividual genetic differences in driving calcidiol-to-calcitriol discordance under vitamin D sufficient (VDS) vs depleted (VDD) conditions. We found high interstrain variability in calcitriol that was discordant with calcidiol under VDS and VDD conditions. Peripheral nerve injuries (PNIs) have a significant impact on the quality of life for patients suffering from trauma or disease. In injuries with critical nerve gaps, PN regeneration requires tissue scaffolds with appropriate physiological properties that promote cell growth and functions. Hydrogel scaffolds represent a promising platform for engineering soft tissue constructs that meet key physiological requirements. Invariant maps are a useful tool for turbulence modelling, and the rapid growth of machine learning-based turbulence modelling research has led to renewed interest in them. They allow different turbulent states to be visualised in an interpretable manner and provide a mathematical framework to analyse or enforce realisability. Current invariant maps, however, are limited in machine learning models by the need for costly coordinate transformations and eigendecomposition at each point in the flow field. Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) patients experience shifts between non-seizing and seizing brain states, but the structural networks underlying these transitions remain undefined and poorly characterized. We detected dynamic brain states in resting-state fMRI and constructed linked structural networks utilizing multi-shell diffusion-weighted MR data. Leveraging network control theory, we interrogated the structural data for all possible brain state transitions, identifying those requiring abnormal levels of transition energy (low or high) in TLE compared to matched healthy participants (n's = 25). Results revealed three transitions requiring significantly higher energy in TLE; no abnormally low-energy transitions were observed. In HPs, transitions relied on …

While most prior surveys treat these fields in isolation, this paper provides a unified review of 256 peer reviewed publications to bridge that gap. We report a biochemically based EPR experiment for undergraduate laboratories that will serve as instruction for learning EPR sample preparation, spectral observation, and spectral analysis. There is a current lack of EPR instructional experiments that present complex spectra in which computational analysis may be required. The biochemical oxidation system of horse radish peroxidase (HRP) activated by H₂O₂ acts on 2,6-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyanisole (DTBHA) to form phenoxyl radicals. This experiment produces moderately complex spectra of moderately long-lived radicals using relatively small amounts of readily available reactants. Spectrum analysis and simulation is accomplished using software freely available on-line. If desired, EPR …

The cybersecurity profession continues to face a significant shortfall of qualified professionals despite steady growth in degree programs. Employers consistently cite experience as the main barrier for entry-level cybersecurity hires. This paper argues that clinic-based experiential learning offers a scalable solution to that preparation gap. A systematic literature review spanning academic and professional literature was conducted to examine: (1) barriers to entry for aspiring cybersecurity professionals; (2) the effectiveness of experiential learning compared to traditional instruction; and (3) the viability and scalability of cybersecurity clinics. Screening emphasized workforce development, experiential pedagogy, and alignment with the NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework. Findings …
