Background: This study examines public awareness in Saudi Arabia regarding con- trolled drug abuse and dependence. It aims to evaluate public knowledge of controlled drugs, their complications, legal considerations, and exposure to related campaign. The study also explored predictors of public awareness of controlled drug abuse and dependence. Methods: A cross-sectional survey utilized a random sampling technique to recruit 529 participants aged 18 or older across Saudi Arabia. Participants were recruited via an online questionnaire distributed from January to February 2024, targeting diverse demographics (e.g., age, gender, region). Psychology historically has underplayed the role of religion and has not considered its importance in treatment and research. As such, the field is in need of measures of religious commitment and a greater understanding of the religious experience. There have been general measures of religious commitment such as the Religious Commitment Scale (RCS) and the Religious Commitment Inventory (RCI-10) (Dyer et al., 2023; Fox & Bouffard, 2015; Worthington, E., 2003). Objective:Toassessthebiomechanicalbehaviourofimplant-tooth-supported(hybrid)pros-theses,comparedwithanimplant-implant-supportedprosthesis,utilisingtwodifferentprostheticmaterials,employingfiniteelementanalysis(FEA).Method:Threedigitalmodels,derivedfromaCBCT-scannededentulousmandible,weredesigned:twohybridconfigurations(M1:distalimplant-firstpremolar;M2:mesialimplant-firstmolar)andanimplant-implant-supportedprosthesis(M3).Abiomechanicalmodellingworkflowwascarriedout(Mimicsforsegmentation,3-Maticforbone/mucosallayerrefinement,ExocadDentalCADandSolidWorksforimplants,abutmentandprosthe-sisintegration,andANSYSformeshingandFEA).Assumingisotropic/elasticmaterialproperties,zirconiaandpolyetherketoneketone(PEKK)wereselectedasprostheticmateri-als.Modelsweresubjectedtoastaticverticalload(100N).vonMisesstressandtotaldefor-mationwereanalysedtoevaluatestructuralresponses.Results:M3demonstratedthemostfavourablebiomechanicalprofile,exhibitingthelowestvonMisesstressmagnitudesalongsidethehighestoveralldeformation.Inhybridmodels(M1,M2),stressmaximawerelocalisedatthepontic−toothconnectorregionsand,inM1-PEKK,reached261MPainthescrew.Corticalboneandpreparedteethexhibitedhigherstressindis-tallyanchoredhybridsystems(M1)comparedtomesiallysupporteddesigns(M2),regardlessoftheprostheticmaterial.Comparativeanalysisrevealedthatzirconia-basedprosthesesgen-eratedhigherstressconcentrationsinbone(≤35MPa)comparedtoPEKK,whereasthePEKKprosthesisitselfexhibitedgreaterstructuraldeformation(70mminM1-PEKK).Conclusion:Hybridimplant-tooth-supportedprosthesescanactasareliablealternativetoimplant-implantonesandeliminatecantileverextensions;however,theiruseshouldbereservedforcarefullyselectedcasestoavoidbiomechanicalincompatibilities.

Background: Systemic right ventricular (SRV) cardiomyopathy commonly complicates d-transposition of the great arteries with previous atrial switch repair. Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is an effective therapy but may be difficult to achieve conventionally via coronary sinus (CS) lead implantation.

Case summary: A 58-year-old man with a history of d-transposition of the great arteries and prior Mustard procedure presented with progressive dyspnea and QRS duration >200 milliseconds. No suitable CS branch was identified; therefore, we delivered CRT with endocardial SRV lead implantation via a VersaCross radiofrequency wire system. Blepharospasm (BSP) is characterized by excessive orbicularis oculi muscle activity leading to abnormal blinking and involuntary eyelid closure. Botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) injections are the main treatment for BSP, but they only partially and transiently relieve symptoms, leading to a waxing and waning therapeutic response. A patient-centered outcome (PCO) tool that measures BSP symptoms in a simple and efficient way could inform the development of better treatments. Using a stepwise modified Delphi approach, potential PCO items were first identified using the Dystonia Coalition Database with data from over 200 individuals with BSP who had provided responses to existing clinical assessment scales. …

This study investigates Prandtl's secondary flows of the second kind within the turbulent boundary layer over a newly defined type of surface roughness, e-type, which is characterized by roughness elements that are elevated from the wall. Riblets are micro-groove elements which can reduce the skin friction drag coefficient for wall-, channel-, and pipe-flows. It is unclear how robust these drag-reduction capabilities are when external forces are acting on the fluid and affecting turbulent structures. Here, buoyancy forces are introduced by varying the wall Richardson number (Riτ = 0, 18, 60) to create unstable stratification. Direct numerical simulations (DNS) are performed on streamwise-aligned riblets of triangular and bladed geometries in a horizontal half-channel pressure-driven turbulent flow (Re_τ = 395). This article investigates the utilization of E-Government applications within the framework of network governance in Indonesia’s local administration. Drawing on both qualitative and quantitative methods, this study captures public perceptions of electronic information-based government services and explores the political and institutional dynamics underlying their implementation. Data were collected through questionnaires, document analysis, interviews, and focus group discussions (FGDs) with purposively selected informants, including leaders and staff from local government institutions. The findings demonstrate that e-government platforms enhance service efficiency, transparency, and public satisfaction. This article discusses older Latinos and their use of mental health services. A brief history of utilization and the contributing factors, including access to services, barriers, and acceptability of mental health services, are included. Sekhon et al.’s theoretical framework of acceptability is discussed in the context of Latino clients. The authors adapt the framework and apply the elements to work with older Latinos and their families. Due to the paucity of longitudinal DNA methylation data (DNAm), especially among Hispanic/Latino adults, the association between changes in epigenetic clocks over time and cognitive aging phenotypes has not been investigated. This longitudinal study included 2671 Hispanic/Latino adults (57 years; 66% women) with blood DNAm data and neurocognitive function assessed at two visits ~7 years apart. Objectives: Intergenerational games offer a potential channel to impact parent-youth sexual health communication. The "Secret of Seven Stones" (SSS) is an 18-level online adventure game and parent website designed to engage parents and youth (11-14 years) in conversations about healthy dating relationships and sexual behavior and to provide sexual health skills training to youth. Study hypotheses were that SSS exposure would increase sexual health parent-child communication, increase youth intentions to delay sexual debut, and reduce youth exposure to situations that promote sexual activity.

Objective: To identify neurobehavioral symptom profiles among persons with chronic traumatic brain injury (TBI) using the Behavioral Assessment Screening Tool (BAST) and to consider participant characteristics that differ between profile groups.

Setting: Community.

Participants: Participants (n = 615) were English-speaking adults (≥18) and had a self-reported history of at least one TBI of any severity.

Design: Secondary analysis of cross-sectional data.

Main measures: The BAST measures neurobehavioral symptoms in the domains of Negative Affect, Fatigue, Executive Dysfunction, Impulsivity, and Substance Misuse.

Their unique vulnerabilities require urgent, targeted action to protect their health, rights, and development. Leading up to the 2024 election, Chinese migrants were the fastest growing group of migrants entering from the U.S.-Mexico border. This comment examines the impact of standardized testing on English Language Learners (ELL) in K–12 education. It explores the complexities and challenges these students face, including language barriers and cultural differences, which can significantly influence their test performance and educational outcomes. By analyzing existing research and legal frameworks, this comment assesses shortcomings of bilingual education in Texas and its under-preparation for ELL students to take standardized testing and whether current testing practices adequately accommodate the needs of ELL students.Ultimately, this comment proposes policy recommendations aimed at promoting fair and equitable assessment practices in bilingual education for K–12 ELL students.
