Abstract

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based therapy for children aged 2.5-7 with disruptive behavioral problems. In recent years, the PCIT protocol has been adapted for use as a preventative model with toddlers (PCIT-T) aged 12-24 months. Given the recency of the PCIT-T adaptation, research has not yet examined the similarity of PCIT-T attrition rates compared to PCIT, though it is speculated rates are similar (between 30-69%; Ufford et al., 2022). Previous research suggests that racial dissimilarity between a treatment provider and the family may influence treatment dropout. Injury is common in wild animals, yet some species possess an adaptive advantage: regeneration. Enallagma vesperum, a species of damselfly, exhibits this regenerative ability, though its persistence and effectiveness across developmental stages remain poorly understood. While previous studies indicate that regeneration ceases following adult emergence, it is unclear whether this ability also diminishes prior to the final larval molt. This study investigated the effectiveness of limb regeneration in E. vesperum across early and late larval instars. [Objective ] The basic characteristics of L-malic acid and the application of L-malic acid in orange juice were studied.[Method ] The basic characteristic differences of L-malic acid,citric acid,and DL-malic acid were compared in terms of thermal stability,pH stability,and taste quality changes of electronic tongue.Subsequently,the three sour agent were added into orange juice.The effects of L-malic acid on the stability and volatile flavor of orange juice were analyzed based on the differences in centrifugal sedimentation rate,pH,electrical conductivity,particle size,Zeta potential,and volatile components.[Result ] L-Malic acid had good stability in the ranges of 40~121 ℃ and pH 2.0~7.0.L-Malic acid differed markedly from citric …

Tool use is a complex motor planning problem. Prior research suggests that planning to use tools involves resolving competition between different tool-related action representations. We therefore reasoned that competition may also be exacerbated with tools for which the motions of the tool and the hand are incongruent (e.g., pinching the fingers to open a clothespin). If this hypothesis is correct, we should observe marked deficits in planning the use of incongruent as compared with congruent tools in individuals with limb apraxia following left hemisphere stroke (LCVA), a disorder associated with abnormal action competition. This project focused on the ecological restoration of a kudzu-invaded section of the Oconee River Greenway while integrating high-impact learning into the Environmental Methods and Measurements (ENSC 2000) course at GCSU. Kudzu (Pueraria montana), a Category I invasive species, has significantly disrupted native plant communities at the site, making it an ideal setting for applied learning and ecological intervention. The project engaged students in authentic environmental research by involving them in every stage of the process including problem assessment, methodology design, field implementation, data collection, and reflection.

Spontaneous arterial aneurysms and dissections are relatively common in patients with vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and arterial rupture accounts for most deaths. Members of the Aortic and Vascular Disease Clinic at UTHealth Houston hold a monthly conference that includes cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, cardiologists, geneticists, radiologists, and pathologists to formulate multidisciplinary approaches for the management of complex cases. In this case series, we highlight the variable presentations and clinical evolution of complex aortic and vascular disease due to vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.

Blastocystis is a common protozoan parasite of the gastrointestinal tract. This study aimed to determine the prevalence, risk factors, and potential pathogenicity of Blastocystis sp. in Erbil province, Iraq, using the KU-F600 Automated Feces Analyzer (AFA).Notably, this is the first study to use this device in Iraq. A total of 580 fecal specimens were collected from patients attendending Mehrabani Surgical Hospital. Samples were tested using the KU-F600 AFA, which incorporates AI-based examination of microscopically identified parasites. demographic and clinical data were collected through questionnaires. This qualitative interpretive study explored high school counselors’ perceptions of the influence of a schoolwide Social and Emotional Learning program on senior students’ attendance, behavior, course performance, and postsecondary readiness in school districts across the United States. The study sought to gain insight into how the implementation of Social and Emotional Learning practices influenced student outcomes, and better prepared them for life beyond high school graduation. This article captures an experience in conflict management that happened during the summer of 2024 as a recreational therapy intern with an adaptive sport and recreation organization located in the Southeastern United States. The backdrop to the case is that a recreational therapy intern worked with various special needs populations – mainly with paraplegic (adult and youth) athletes and veterans. Drowning remains a significant public health problem in the United States, with The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reporting approximately 4,000 drowning deaths annually. Children aged 1-4 face the highest risk, and African American children are disproportionately affected–7.6 times more likely to drown than white children (CDC, 2024). In a city on the East Coast that is predominantly African American, limited access to swimming lessons heightens the risk. To reduce drowning rates, a collaborative swimming program was established between a city high school and a public school enrichment program.
