International Journal of Exercise Science 18(3): 1061-1071, 2025. https://doi.org/10.70252/DFMZ2015 The aim of this study was to examine variations in countermovement jump (CMJ) performance after two velocity-based training (VBT) protocols in the half-squat exercise. Sixteen male beach volleyball athletes performed CMJ tests before and after three experimental sessions on the half-squat exercise. The two VBT protocols were performed in three sets, at a mean propulsive velocity (~ 0.49 m•s⁻¹) associated with relative intensity (~ 85% 1RM), with three minutes interset recovery. According to Wages and Employment Trends in ONET On-Line^[2] cybersecurity job openings are ranked as having a Bright Outlook, and on May 1 2025 Cyberseek listed 450,000 US job openings out of a workforce of 1.25 million. However, most entry-level cybersecurity jobs require several years of experience resulting in a mismatch between supply and demand. State constitutions contain numerous rights-protecting provisions that are analogous to provisions of the United States Constitution. But lawyers and courts often ignored state constitutions. The current U.S. administration is intentionally undermining public access to information as well as scholarly research by removing documents, reports, datasets, images, and language from government websites. In doing so, this administration is withholding publicly-funded information that we have a right to access, including data from government-sponsored research, historical information about marginalized groups, and speech transcripts. In removing these materials, the government is also deliberately sabotaging research related to topics it does not like, such as LGBTQ health, COVID, and climate change.

As government censorship increasingly threatens the accessibility of educational research, librarians are emerging as critical defenders of open access and research transparency. This presentation reports on the proactive efforts of a Canadian academic librarian who developed actionable workarounds to address the disappearance of articles from ERIC. The U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) rolled out its revised Public Access Policy on July 1, 2025, in accordance with the 2022 Office of Science and Technology Policy Nelson Memo. The Nelson Memo calls on all U.S. federal funders to implement a policy requiring immediate public access to published articles and supporting datasets resulting from federal grants. Detecting sarcasm in text remains a critical yet challenging task in natural language processing (NLP). Despite significant advances through deep learning, particularly the use of transformer-based architecture like BERT, sarcasm detection models still face challenges in achieving high accuracy. A major limitation lies in their insufficient incorporation of contextual awareness, including conversational history, social inter- actions, emotional cues, and cultural factors. To address this, this paper proposes the BERT with Meta-Feature Logistic Regression Fusion (BMLRF) model, which in- tegrates sentence-level embeddings from a pre-trained transformer with meta-features capturing social, emotional, and cultural contexts. This document discloses a method and apparatus for recording spatial sound using a multichannel microphone array based on the acoustic principles of the Crown® SASS (Stereo Ambient Sampling System), but extended to cover the entire 360° horizontal plane and optionally the upper hemisphere. The disclosed system, named MASS (Multi-channel Ambient Sample System), employs flush-mounted omnidirectional microphone capsules arranged on multiple planar surfaces of a cabinet, with acoustic baffling to control interchannel separation and diffraction. A method is described to address this using a server-side stitching mechanism that can utilize a vendor identifier (e.g., an identifier for vendors or an application set identifier). During an initial app landing event where attribution parameters are present, a subset of data from these parameters may be stored on a server and keyed using the vendor identifier. Women remain significantly underrepresented in the construction industry, particularly in the skilled trades. Through qualitative exploratory interviews with six women, this study investigates the career trajectories, worksite barriers, and motivational influences shaping women’s experiences in the construction skilled trades. The research is framed using Donald Super’s Life-Span, Life-Space theory and expectancy-value theory (EVT) to explore how career stages and career value affect women’s experiences. Participants described gender bias, limited mentorship, and restricted advancement opportunities as primary challenges.
