People are getting older, and so is our judiciary. This Article examines various questions that accompany an aging judiciary: as jurists get older, can they still keep up with the job’s demands? How is the public’s confidence affected when they see increasingly older judges? Are there practical or constitutional considerations with an aging judiciary? In response to these concerns, many states have imposed mandatory retirement ages. But is this the best way to handle these concerns?

Forty years ago, civil rights legend Bayard Rustin described lessons from other civil rights movements that, at the time, seemingly could inform gay rights activists in the 1980s. More recently, Evan Wolfson, an architect of the freedom-to-marry movement, has outlined several lessons of that movement that could be applied by activists in other fields, ranging from Palestinian peacemakers to transgender rights activists. Some activists may embrace these lessons, while others may passionately reject them. This panel seeks to explore how various civil rights movements have learned and borrowed from each other over time, possibly carving out lessons for current and …

Regional Amphibious Aircraft Preliminary Design, Giovanna Ucles

This project presents the preliminary design of a regional amphibious aircraft, aimed at servicing a variety of missions in areas with limited infrastructure. Currently, aircraft options for operations in challenging environments are limited, with most designs relying on float-like structures. This new design reintroduces the flying boat concept, offering reduced drag and improved operational efficiency. Two configurations are proposed: a 19-passenger version with a range of at least 350 nautical miles, and a 10-passenger version with a range of at least 980 nautical miles, both achieving a minimum cruise speed of 150 knots. Women In Ministry In The Churches Of Christ: A Comparative View, Jennifer Reinsch Schroeder

Discernment: Theology and the Practice of Ministry

This article examines the experiences of women serving as full-time ministers in the Churches of Christ. Analysis of the Siburt Institute’s 2025 Salary Survey shows a large gender pay gap that speaks to concerns regarding support and sustainability in ministry. To better understand mechanisms that impact both support and sustainability, a separate qualitative study was performed that analyzed the interviews of twenty-one full-time, female ministers. The study revealed recurring features of unhealthy systems and the impact of unhealthy systems on women in ministry. Conversely, the interviews illuminated hallmarks of healthy systems and the results that emerge out of such systems. …

We do not bear the negative baggage associated with Evangelicalism’s drift into Christian nationalism and an enmeshment with the Religious Right. This article summarizes A Teacher-Development Curriculum: Encouraging Community Discipleship through Faith and Learning Integration at Bracken Christian High School, reflecting on discipleship, imago Dei, missio Dei, theosis, Christosis, and tableship (koinōnia). Using Parker Palmer’s book, The Courage to Teach, the project team developed a Christocentric teacher-development curriculum to strengthen teacher-to-teacher relationships through monthly conversations around shared readings. The study presents faith and learning integration as a Spirit-led practice and frames spiritual formation as communal rather than individual. The metaphor of tableship functions as a fuller expression of biblical koinōnia, emphasizing embodied hospitality and communal witness. The project models how Christian …

It highlights how schools and districts can use OER to strengthen professional learning, build community partnerships, and expand access to high-quality resources. In CS 331, Database System Design & Management, students design and implement relational databases, then publish their work - diagrams, schemas, SQL code, and walkthroughs - on GitHub for reuse and adaptation.

Background: A healthy, 39-year-old male patient presented with sudden onset, painless vision loss of the right eye’s superior visual field two months after a mild case of COVID-19.

Case Report: The patient was diagnosed with an acute branch retinal artery occlusion and referred to the emergency department for prompt evaluation. When the emergency workup was unremarkable the patient was referred to cardiology and hematology and follow up with a retinal specialist. The exhaustive systemic work-up was unremarkable other than recent COVID-19. Retinal perfusion to the affected area resumed in the weeks after the incident but irreversible vision loss occurred.

Background: Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disease caused by faulty transmission at the neuromuscular junction leading to fatigable muscular weakness. Ocular MG is distressing in that it can cause visual difficulties, but generalized MG can be life-threatening. MG is an acquired disorder that can easily be overlooked in clinic and is commonly misdiagnosed. Providers should be aware of the clinical features of this condition, as well as the critical testing needed to confirm the diagnosis so the appropriate management course can be implemented.

Background: Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness in the United States. The tools available to treat glaucoma via intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction include pharmacological therapy or surgical intervention.

Case Report: This case study explores these tools in the context of glaucoma in active-duty military personnel. It involves an active-duty army patient diagnosed with early Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG) who was initially prescribed IOP-lowering medication. Barriers in treatment compliance occurred while the patient was deployed that led to significant glaucomatous changes detected when the patient returned stateside.

Background: Corneal abrasions are one of the most frequent ocular conditions encountered in the emergency department and can lead to significant morbidity and visual impairment. Amniotic membrane has inherent anti-inflammatory and anti-scarring properties that help accelerate epithelialization and help prevent the complications known to be associated with corneal injuries. Herein we assessed the time till complete epithelialization after in-office application of cryopreserved amniotic membrane in cases of traumatic corneal abrasions in the acute setting.
