Pt represents an effective promoter of supported Ni catalysts in the transformation of tristearin to green diesel via decarbonylation/decarboxylation (deCO_x), conversion increasing from 2% over 20% Ni/Al₂O₃ to 100% over 20% Ni-0.5% Pt/Al₂O₃ at 260 °C. Catalyst characterization reveals that the superior activity of Ni-Pt relative to Ni-only catalysts is not a result of Ni particle size effects or surface area differences, but rather stems from several other phenomena, including the improved reducibility of NiO when Pt is present. Particle Size Distribution Of N-Decane And Methane-Saturated N-Decane Jets Entering Seawater At 150 Bar Ambient Pressure, Karen Malone

The dataset contains droplet size measurements from autoclave jet experiments with n-decane and methane-saturated n-decane, at 150 bar ambient pressure at 20° C. The dataset includes two tables: particle size distributions (PSD) of (1) n-decane and (2) methane-saturated n-decane jets entering into seawater. The n-decane is over 99 % pure, provided by Carl Roth GmbH. For this experiment, the oil pressure was 150 +/- 1 bar and the oil volume flow was 1 1.1 - 1.2 l/min. Set in and around a large pool of water, Metamorphoses juxtaposes the ancient and the contemporary in both language and image to reflect the variety and persistence of narrative in the face of inevitable change. Nominated for three 2002 Tony Awards, including “Best Play,” Metamorphoses earned Zimmerman a Tony for “Best Direction of a Play.”
