The small GTPase CDC42 promotes axon growth through actin filament polymerization and this growth is driven by axonal localization of the mRNA encoding the prenylated CDC42 isoform (Prenyl-Cdc42). Here, we show that axonal Prenyl-Cdc42 mRNA levels and the mRNA’s translation are decreased by growth-inhibiting stimulation and increased by growth-promoting stimulation. In contrast, axonal RhoA mRNA transport and translation are increased by growth-inhibiting but unaffected by growth-promoting stimuli. Localized increase in KHSRP in response to growth inhibitory stimulation, through elevation of intracellular Ca²⁺, promotes decrease in axonal levels of Prenyl-Cdc42 mRNA. This doctoral project focuses on the development of a clinical practice guideline (CPG) aimed at addressing a critical gap in postpartum care, particularly postpartum depression (PPD), inconsistent follow-up, and low breastfeeding continuation rates, which disproportionately affect African American women and other underserved populations. These gaps contribute to preventable morbidity, poor maternal experiences, and health inequities, making this issue a priority for nursing and public health. This dissertation investigates several of the multifaceted challenges faced by employed graduate students, a growing demographic within U.S. higher education. Against a backdrop of intensifying technological change, evolving labor market dynamics, and increased educational attainment, these individuals encounter pronounced school-work-family conflict (SWFC), resulting in a heightened risk for personal burnout (PB).

Building upon the job demands-resources theory, this research explores whether school-work facilitation (SWF) and student emotional engagement (EE) might attenuate the deleterious relationship between school-work-family conflict (SWFC) and personal burnout (PB), with gender and number of children included as controls.

Timely and accurate detection of burned areas is crucial for assessing fire damage and contributing to ecosystem recovery efforts. In this study, we propose a framework for detecting fire-affected vegetation anomalies on the basis of a ResNet deep learning (DL) algorithm by merging spectral and textural features (ResNet-IST) and the vegetation abnormal spectral texture index (VASTI). To train the ResNet-IST, a vegetation anomaly dataset was constructed on high-resolution 30 m fire-affected remote sensing images selected from the Global Fire Atlas (GFA) to extract the spectral and textural features. BACKGROUND: Health care chatbots are rapidly proliferating, while generative artificial intelligence (AI) outpaces existing evaluation standards.

OBJECTIVE: We aimed to develop a structured, stakeholder-informed framework to standardize evaluation of health care chatbots.

METHODS: PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses)-guided searches across multiple databases identified 266 records; 152 were screened, 21 full texts were assessed, and 11 frameworks were included. We extracted 356 questions (refined to 271 by deduplication and relevance review), mapped items to Coalition for Health AI constructs, and organized them with iterative input from clinicians, patients, developers, epidemiologists, and policymakers.

This thesis focuses on two young adult speculative fiction novels, Lobizona and Cemetery Boys, that showcase the need for accurate representation of the Latinx/Chicanx and LGBTQ+ communities. Themes of sexuality, race, identity, and the gender binary within Latinx/Chicanx cultures will be explored. The narratives of the protagonists in both novels disrupt the gender binary in the United States and the Latinx/Chicanx community. There is a lack of literature that focuses on Latinx/Chicanx young adult speculative fiction, particularly in the United States, highlighting the need for more scholarly research in this area. A collection of obsidian flake tools was recovered from two sites featuring multiple cultural occupations in Rio Chico (N4C3-170), southern Manabí province, Ecuador. This thesis analyses this collection through macroscopic techniques to indicate differences in how obsidian was utilized throughout cultural occupation in quantity and typology. Diagnostic features of the flake tools have been recorded to draw these distinctions, and depositional context is checked to determine cultural usage at the site.

This study aimed to determine the effect of substituting wheat flour with sunflower seed flour on the chemical, physical and organoleptic properties of mini baked sponge cakes. The experiment was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three levels of sunflower seed flour substitution: 15%, 25%, and 35%. Analysis included chemical properties (protein, fat, and ash contents), physical properties (color and texture), and organoleptic properties (hedonic evaluation of color, taste, aroma, and texture). Background: The majority of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cases arise in patients with cirrhosis, with known major risk factors of hepatitis B (HBV) or C (HCV) infection, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), and alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). However, the impact of additional risk factors that act independently or jointly on the pathogenesis of HCC in cirrhosis patients is unknown. The DNP Scholarly Project presents the Diabetes Interprofessional Management Program, an organization-wide, logic-model–driven initiative to improve glycemic control, empower self-management, and advance health equity for adults with type II diabetes. The project leverages an interprofessional team, targeted training, culturally tailored education, health technology tools, and community partnerships to translate resources into team-based care, personalized plans, self-management support, and continuous education, with outputs including trained staff, engaged patients, and standardized care protocols. Short-term outcomes center on reduced mean HbA1c, more patients achieving HbA1c <7%, and widespread adoption of evidence-based pathways with standardized testing cadences. Long-term outcomes focus on fewer complications, higher patient satisfaction, and reduced disparities through the expansion of Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) and culturally appropriate resources, underpinned by robust data governance. The evaluation and implementation plan measures clinical outcomes, patient experience, and equity over 0–24 months, using formative metrics (workflow deployment, training, testing timeliness, DSME referrals, portal use) and summative metrics (HbA1c changes, HbA1c <7% at 12 months, hospitalizations, complications, knowledge and quality of life, equity indicators, and ROI). Governance features a Data Steering Subcommittee and quarterly dashboards. Deliverables include standardized protocols, DSME curricula, EHR workflows, training, and a scalable, sustainable model for broader deployment.

In this Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project, I developed a clinical practice guideline to address the absence of a standardized process for identifying adult outpatients at risk for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in a community-based mental health clinic. Without such a process, delays in trauma-focused care and inconsistent referrals may occur. The evidence base supports the use of brief, validated screening tools, such as the Primary Care PTSD Screen for DSM-5, for accurate risk identification in routine practice. Large language models (LLMs) show remarkable abilities in both factual and creative tasks, yet the problem of hallucination persists despite advances in training and post-training methods. Recent progress in model interpretability suggests that model behavior can be predicted and influenced by analyzing and manipulating internal activations.
