Indian River Lagoon Shorelines

The spatial dataset: UCF_Outfalls_IRL_LWL.shp was created under grants from the Indian River Lagoon National Estuaries Program and Florida Sea Grant. These projects cumulatively led to creation of a living shoreline restoration prioritization model and hydrodynamic habitat suitability models for 1,550 km (963 miles) of estuarine shorelines in Indian River Lagoon (IRL) and Lake Worth Lagoon (LWL).

The dataset presented here includes the location of outfalls identified throughout the study region and general characteristics of the shoreline where they were identified.

Soccer In-Game Event Classification Using Spatio-Temporal Data, Million Haileyesus

Theses and Dissertations

Classifying soccer ball events, such as pass, shot, ball loss, and ball out, are crucial for advancing game analytics and tactical insights. This thesis investigates the application of machine learning to classify these ball events using player and ball spatio-temporal data, as well as additional features. We implement and compare traditional machine learning algorithms (AdaBoost, Logistic Regression, and Random Forest) with several deep learning approaches, including Feed-Forward Neural Network (FFNN), sequence-to-sequence (seq2seq) recurrent models (Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU)), and Transformer. Pakistan’s growth experience over the past sixty years is both impressive and disappointing. It is impressive because rapid growth rate has resulted in a quadrupling of per capita incomes and reduction in poverty levels by one half despite fairly high population growth. Structural changes have transformed a predominantly agrarian economy to a more diversified production structure. Manufactures account for 80 percent of the country’s exports. But there is a sense of disappointment too. Social indicators are among the worst in developing countries. Pakistan ranks 134th among 177 countries in Human Development Index. This Article challenges traditional financial regulation by exploring how prediction markets—initially developed as sophisticated tools for collective forecasting—increasingly resemble gambling venues. These platforms, once designed to harness crowd wisdom, have transformed into high-stakes ecosystems where engage- ment-driven features blur the boundary between forecasting and betting. This evolution presents a dual challenge: on one hand, certain platforms, including regulated ones, offer innovative avenues for price discovery and risk hedging; on the other, their gamblified design exposes users to significant behavioral and financial risks.

Trademarks are all around us. It would be difficult to go an entire day without encountering a trademark—In fact, three-fourths of the words we use in our day-to-day conversations have been claimed as trademarks by various companies for various products. Often, we don’t even recognize all the marks we come across as trademarks. Words such as “aspirin,” “escalator,” and “trampoline” were all once trademarks. Over time, these words began to signify the product more than the producer; Because the marks could no longer identify the product’s source as trademarks are supposed to, the marks suffered “genericide” and were cancelled.

Residents living in rural America suffer from complications of chronic wounds at higher rates due to limited access to care and specialists. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the inequities within the rural healthcare system and provide recommendations for mitigating gaps in care. Methods include analysis of qualitative and quantitative literature, synthesis of Census data, numeric trends, policy initiatives, and CDC data. This research yielded evidence supporting various types of home health and technology-based care as a reasonable intervention for ensuring adequate ongoing wound care among rural residents. Collective teacher efficacy (CTE) has been shown to positively influence student learning, yet research on the role of leadership in cultivating CTE is still developing, even in mainstream schools. Even less is known about how leadership supports CTE in refugee-serving schools, where the challenges of displacement and interrupted education create additional complexity. This qualitative case study explored how leadership behaviors supported the development of CTE in Blue School, an international educational organization serving refugee youth. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with teachers and leaders and through organizational documents. Given the increasing significance of employee turnover, administrative leadership in U.S. Southeastern hospitals stands at a critical turning point. The specific research problem is that leadership behaviors may create an intolerable environment for employees, leading to an intent to leave and turnover. The purpose of this descriptive phenomenological study was to explore administrative leadership behaviors that contribute to employee turnover, with a specific focus on leadership behaviors in U.S. Southeastern hospitals. Intimate partner violence (IPV) is an ongoing social problem across nationalities, cultures, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, and genders. Historically, research into IPV has focused on the heterosexual female victim and male perpetrator paradigm, including identifying the root causes of this phenomenon and appropriate treatment models. There is a distinct gap in the current literature addressing how therapists in the psychological community approach working with heterosexual male and same-sex victims of IPV, beginning with case conceptualization.
