Multilevel Influence Of Sustainability Leaders In Business Systems, Alwen Jose Apid, Mendiola Teng-Calleja

Existing studies that point to the various influences of sustainability leaders on individuals, organizations, and external stakeholders remain fragmented. Using Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory, this study aimed for a deep examination of leaders’ experiences as they built layers of influence through their sustainability initiatives and efforts. The study employed a reflexive qualitative approach in gathering and analyzing data from semi-structured interviews with five sustainability managers working in listed fast-moving consumer goods companies. The results suggested evident patterns of sustainability-promoting actions among the leaders that reflect alignment with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards. Hylocereus species are promising for enhancing fruit productivity in arid regions, but high solar radiation often leads to yield loss. This study aimed to evaluate the short-term impact of different shading levels on the physiological performance, productivity, and post-harvest quality of Hylocereus costaricensis under semi-arid conditions. Plants were grown in the field under two shade levels, i.e., 35 and 50% and their performances were compared to plants under control, i.e., 0% of shade or full sunlight. This action research study investigates how I, as a tutor, implemented affective instructional practices to support early adolescent tutees’ self-efficacy, tutor-tutee relationship, and mathematical knowledge/performance. Data were collected from multiple sources, including journal entries, video recordings, semi-structured interviews, report card evaluations, and Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) scores. These sources were used to gain comprehensive insight into how my affective instructional strategies were embedded within mathematics tutoring sessions with five early adolescent tutees between the ages of 10 and 12. It is an aggressive, perennial vine that threatens riparian ecosystems, agricultural lands, and residential landscapes by destructively smothering vegetation. Additionally, its toxicity poses risks to people, livestock, and pets. Early detection and consistent management are critical to reducing its spread in Utah.

Phenomenon-based learning (PhBL) and storylines represent emerging pedagogical approaches in K-12 science education that emphasize student-centered inquiry and real-world connections, yet comprehensive synthesis of research in this field remains limited. This systematic review synthesizes current literature on PhBL and storyline approaches to identify key themes, implementation practices, and research gaps in K-12 science education. Using PRISMA guidelines, we systematically searched education journals, identifying 24 articles published between 2013 and 2024. Qualitative inductive analysis revealed six major themes through iterative coding and collaborative discussion. Brain-based tools are being developed to identify infants at ultra-high likelihood for developing autism and enable presymptomatic intervention, though such interventions are not yet clinically available. Given persistent challenges in accessing autism services, we sought to understand how families might use early predictive results to seek support. We analyzed 55 interviews with parents of infants aged 6-13 months; one group had experience parenting an older autistic child (n = 30), the other had no prior autism parenting experience (n = 25). Background: Studies have shown that input comparison in the hippocampus between the Schaffer collateral (SC) input in apical dendrites and the perforant path (PP) input in the apical tufts dramatically changes the activity of pyramidal cells (PCs). Equally, dendritic inhibition was shown to control PC activity by minimizing the depolarizing signals in their dendritic trees, controlling the synaptic integration time window, and ensuring temporal firing precision. Sedimentary rocks can provide information about the Earth paleoenvironment and are studied extensively to understand the causes and consequences of global climate changes in deep time. They facilitate long-time perspectives that constrain climate models and provide analogues for how Earth systems may respond to, and recover from, intervals of profound environmental change, including projected anthropogenic change. The Norwegian Svalbard archipelago offers an extensive Phanerozoic stratigraphic record that reflects the geological evolution of the northern flanks of continental assemblages that include Laurentia, Eurasia, and Pangea. Multiple sclerosis is an immune-mediated demyelinating disease of the central nervous system with a complex etiology involving environmental and genetic factors. Numerous genetic risk loci for multiple sclerosis have been nominated through genome-wide association studies, with most associated variants residing in noncoding regions. However, further work is needed to understand how genetic variation contributes to disease-related alterations to gene expression. Here, we use Massively Parallel Reporter Assays to identify genetic risk variants with genotype-dependent enhancing or silencing activity within a set of 14,275 variants distributed among multiple sclerosis risk loci that have reached genome-wide or suggestive significance. OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the association between metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), metabolic-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), and the risk of colorectal cancer (CRC) and benign colorectal neoplasms (BCN), and to explore whether liver fibrosis/cirrhosis modifies these associations.

DESIGN: Retrospective cohort study with 1:1 propensity score matching.

SETTING: Global, multicentre real-world analysis using deidentified electronic health records from over 130 healthcare organisations in the TriNetX Global Collaborative Network.

BACKGROUND: Overcontrol is a transdiagnostic phenotype which has been associated with restrictive eating disorders and depression. It is characterised by traits such as cognitive and behavioural inflexibility, risk aversion, suppression of emotional expression, reduced reward sensitivity and higher temperamental anxiety. Two aspects of the overcontrol phenotype (inflexibility and the suppression of emotional expression) have been particularly linked with poorer mental health. Additionally, social connectedness has been shown to protect against mental health symptom severity. OBJECTIVES: Provide an updated integrated safety analysis, incorporating final safety data from Punch CD3-OLS.

DESIGN: Safety data were combined from five RBL trials: three phase II and two phase III trials.

METHODS: Adult participants had documented rCDI and completed SOC therapy before receiving one or two doses of RBL or placebo, rectally administered as one treatment course. Treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) were recorded for ⩽6 months.

This study examines storytelling techniques for adolescents in group communication as a medium for reproductive health education in the “Bacarita Kespro”, a program organized by Tenggara Youth Community. The use of new educational methods is essential as traditional lecture-based approaches have proven ineffective in educating adolescents about reproductive health. Guided by narrative communication theory and symbolic convergence theory, this study employs a qualitative approach combining observation and interview data. This study examines the differences in stigma experienced by people living with human immunodeficiency virus (PLHIV) on social media and in broader Indonesian society. When PLHIV disclose their HIV-positive status on social media and attempt to break the stigma by becoming social media influencers, they receive both supportive and critical responses. Negative reactions arise when they are perceived as promoting risky activities, as burdens to the state, or when they face challenges securing sponsorship for their initiatives. Decades of eye-tracking and memory research support the weapon focus effect, that weapons attract visual attention during criminal events which leaves less attention to focus on other event features. Relevant memory tests, however, typically only evaluate recognition of the perpetrator committing a crime. Rarely, if at all, do researchers use direct tests of memory for the weapons. Therefore, it is less understood if viewers are simply attending to objects or if they are encoding their details. This article explores whether artificial intelligence (AI) constitutes an asset or rather a challenge in assessing the necessity and proportionality of a State’s response to an armed attack in the context of self-defense. Two central arguments are advanced. First, while AI may assist in detecting incoming threats of armed attacks, abstract and highly context-driven notions like necessity and proportionality would be very difficult to encode into algorithms. This article explores the application of Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter to AI-enabled systems that carry out unintended engagements involving the use of force. First, it analyzes whether State responsibility for a breach of the prohibition on the use of force is defined in subjective or objective terms. Most commentators maintain that a State must intend to use force against the victim State in order for the prohibition to apply. Introduction Rasburicase, a recombinant urate oxidase, effectively lowers nephrotoxic uric acid levels in tumor lysis syndrome (TLS). However, its use produces oxidative byproducts that can precipitate hemolysis and methemoglobinemia in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD). Although G6PD screening is recommended prior to use in high-risk populations, emergent presentations often preclude timely testing. We report a rare case of simultaneous rasburicase-induced methemoglobinemia and hemolytic anemia in a patient with previously undiagnosed G6PD deficiency. Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) affect millions annually, leading to devastating neurobehavioral consequences and increasing risk for neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases. However, therapies are lacking. Starting in 2018, dysbiosis of the gut microbiome was identified as an acute, and potentially chronic, pathology originating from TBI. Recent studies established that the microbiome contributes to the evolution of TBI pathology and functional impairments.
