A system for thermal management in portable electronic devices, such as a smartphone, tablet, or wearable device, can employ an electrochromic coating on the device's housing. The coating may be segmented into independently addressable zones. A control system can analyze data from sensors, for example, optical and orientation sensors, to identify which surfaces are exposed to solar radiation and which are shaded. The system may then apply electrical signals to increase the reflectivity of sun-exposed zones to reduce solar absorption, while concurrently increasing the emissivity of shaded zones to enhance the dissipation of internal heat. Experiments in the Pi Convection-Cloud Chamber conducted by systematically changing the diameter of injected dry aerosol particles while holding the temperature gradient constant demonstrate that dry diameter strongly influences the onset of haze-dominated conditions. Two factors contribute: the system becomes water-limited, resulting in reduction of supersaturation by growing aerosol particles to the activation diameter; and the activation process becomes kinetically limited. Aerosol dry diameter exerts a strong influence on activation time, with a power-law exponent of 9/2. Kinetically-limited activation occurs when the ratio of the activation and droplet residence times is greater than unity. The findings demonstrate that a haze-dominated …

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains a leading cause of mortality and disproportionately affect individuals with darker skin tones, partly due to vitamin D deficiency (Sabzmakan et al., 2014). This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project uses a scoping review methodology to examine the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and cardiovascular outcomes, with an emphasis on high-melanin populations. Guided by the Joanna Briggs Institute Framework, the review synthesizes existing evidence, identifies gaps in representation and biomarker use, and highlights social and biological contributors to disparity. Problem statement: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) programs are known for
their rigorous curriculum, which predisposes Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists (SRNAs) to
challenges such as mental health issues, stress, and isolation.
Purpose: Review the literature and assess gaps in the literature to determine if peer mentorship
programs benefit SRNAs’ well-being, promote support, reduce stress, and improve retention.
Method: Databases were searched using keywords and inclusion criteria. Studies were

Background: HST is a highly profitable human rights violation. Survivors of sex trafficking experience serious physical and psychological health consequences. Exiting from trafficking is difficult and recidivism is high. Many
survivors of trafficking lack resources as they reintegrate into society.

Aim: Explore the experience of female survivors of sex trafficking as they exited trafficking and reintegrated into society utilizing the survivors’ voice. The survivors’ experience with healthcare providers was also explored.

Communication with departments and administration about budget management and related changes to collections can be crucial to maintain constructive relationships and to improve cooperative planning. Academic libraries often rely on librarian liaisons to communicate directly with departments, but additional communication efforts are sometimes pursued. Libraries could learn from one another by sharing their communication strategies, tools, and methods. Our library has recently focused on collections communication across a range of projects and audiences. New Muslim Cool begins with Hamza Pérez, a Puerto Rican Muslim revert, as he rebuilds his life through Islam while balancing faith, family, and community. The documentary follows his journey from being involved in street life to becoming a faith-driven community leader and rapper. Hamza uses hip-hop and religion to connect with young people and challenge stereotypes about Muslims in America. The film primarily takes place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and explores themes of identity, redemption, and the pursuit of peace in the post-9/11 world. It is directed by Jennifer Maytorena Taylor and was released in 2009.

The documentary AmeRícan (n.d.) simultaneously covers the perspectives of two oft ignored groups of U.S. society–both Puerto Rican and Latino/e (both the gendered and gender neutral terms for individuals of Latin American heritage) Muslims. Bergenline Avenue, New Jersey has a heavy presence of Latino Muslims, especially those who are “Puerto Rican, Mexican, Dominican, Peruvian” ([00:00:49–00:00:50]). Latino Muslims in nearby neighborhoods have the privilege of having access to religious resources such as the North Hudson Islamic Education Center, “home to a large number of Latinx Muslims” ([01:23–01:25]).

This study examines how entrepreneurial personality traits influence business outcomes among underrepresented minority entrepreneurs in the United States. Specifically, it investigates the effects of entrepreneurial self-efficacy, locus of control, risk tolerance, and extraversion on entrepreneurial performance, as well as the moderating role of grit and the mediating role of business networking. Although underrepresented minority entrepreneurs contribute significantly to innovation and economic growth, they continue to face persistent barriers, including limited access to capital, mentorship, and supportive entrepreneurial ecosystems. In this review, we focus on group IV one-dimensional devices for quantum technology. We outline the foundational principles of quantum computing before delving into materials, architectures and fabrication routes, separately, by comparing the bottom-up and top-down approaches. We demonstrate that due to easily tunable composition and crystal/interface quality and relatively less demanding fabrications, the study of grown nanowires such as core–shell Ge-Si and Ge hut wires has created a very fruitful field for studying unique and foundational quantum phenomena. Depression is a prevalent mental health condition among older adults in long-term care (LTC) facilities and is often managed primarily through antidepressant medications. While these medications can be effective, their overuse in elderly populations increases the risk of falls, sedation, cognitive decline, and adverse drug interactions. This project addresses the need for safer, evidence-based alternatives by promoting non-pharmacological interventions that support holistic well-being. The proposed approach integrates gratitude journaling, vitamin D testing to identify deficiencies, and vitamin D supplementation for residents experiencing mild to moderate depressive symptoms. Studies show Black Americans face high police brutality, leading to mental health issues like PTSD, depression, and anxiety. The purpose of this qualitative interpretive phenomenological study is to explore the lived experiences of Black Americans who have been exposed to police brutality on social media and how it impacts their racial identity and emotional well-being. This study employed critical race theory as both a theoretical lens and a conceptual framework to examine how race and systemic inequalities shape legal systems and societal narratives. This literature review examines how Hepatitis C (HCV) screening and care programs can better serve underserved populations, particularly Spanish-speaking rural communities in border states. The research supports the Hep C- Colonias Advancing & Restoring Esperanza (C.A.R.E) program’s mission by incorporating recent findings from 32 studies gathered through PubMed, Medline and Google Scholar. Hep C C.A.R.E expanded from the HepVISTA expansion project provides HCV screening, education, vaccination and linkage to care for uninsured patients at partner sites in Laredo and Maverick County. Results indicate that while HCV elimination is feasible, significant gaps persist among rural uninsured and minority populations. Effective strategies …

This study examines North Korean defector students’ experiences navigating social and cultural norms and expectations within South Korea’s educational systems and institutions. North Korean defectors often strive to acquire and perform cultural capital and establish valid habitus in the new context, which can lead to feelings of alienation, exclusion, and discrimination. Drawing on Bourdieu’s concept of cultural capital and habitus, we analyze how these norms and hierarchies are maintained and reproduced, particularly within the context of assumed cultural and linguistic homogeneity between North and South Korea. Our project implements simulated train engineers to operate model train engines on a hybrid twin of a freight rail system. We can then use the model and simulate cyber-security attacks to demonstrate the risks and effects of the attacks. Using existing model train hardware and an Arduino running open-source software, DCC-EX and JMRI, we can control the train engines and various track components and sensors. We program each engine to make safe decisions about what speed and direction to take, using information provided by the various sensors and light signals around the track. Verilog to Routing (VTR) is the most widely used open-source tool for experimenting with FPGA placement and routing algorithms, as well as assessing how architectural changes impact routability, timing, and power consumption.

Historically, VTR has been tailored specifically for Intel’s Altera-like FPGAs, lacking support for key features that would enable greater flexibility in describing other architectures. In this work, we introduce a fully functional 7-Series architecture capture from the Xilinx family, utilizing VTR’s scalable architecture description language.
