Implementing high fidelity simulation (HFS) into undergraduate nursing courses allows faculty to evaluate the nursing student’s ability to provide safe care for a client in a realistic, controlled environment. Simulation is a learning strategy that fosters competency-based education (CBE). The CBE model focuses on competency attainment by utilizing learning strategies promoting nursing students’ development of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors needed to become a proficient novice nurse.

Self-efficacy levels affect decision-making skills and overall confidence in handling critical situations. However, knowledge gaps often hinder the maintenance of high self-efficacy. (Farčić, et al., 2020). The project site provides limited training opportunities that may not adequately prepare registered nurses with the confidence and skills needed to respond to stroke emergencies, potentially causing delays in patient care and adverse health outcomes. Unpacking Alpha In Innovation-Driven Etfs: A Comparative Study Of Artificial Intelligence And Blockchain Funds, Davinder K. Malhotra

This paper evaluates the performance and portfolio role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain exchange-traded funds (ETFs) based on monthly returns from 2010 to 2025. The findings show that both AI and Blockchain ETFs generate positive alpha and high standalone returns but also display considerable drawdown risk. Their weak correlations with each other and with broad indices highlight diversification benefits, particularly when combined with U.S. benchmarks. Portfolio optimization reveals that Global Minimum Variance (GMV) and Tangency portfolios ascribe lower weights to these ETFs, while Risk Parity portfolios have a more balanced exposure, helping to diversify risks. Beef production on chemically uniform grass monocultures can limit nutrient synchrony and contribute to uneven pasture use. We evaluated whether supplementing tannins with bioactive plant secondary compounds improves foraging dynamics and landscape use by beef cattle grazing a meadow bromegrass monoculture in ways aligned with rangeland sustainability. Twenty-four Angus cow–calf pairs were allocated to six 3.6-ha paddocks (four pairs/paddock), randomly assigned to Control (Ctrl; n = 3) or Tannin treatment (TT; n = 3). Animals received 1 kg/cow/day of DDGs, with TT receiving an added 0.4% tannins (2:1 condensed:hydrolyzable). Grazing occurred during four 15-day periods (July– September) across two years. …

The High-Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) Observatory, located on the slopes of the Sierra Negra volcano in Mexico, began operations in March 2015. Over the past decade, HAWC has enabled the exploration of a broad range of topics in high-energy astrophysics and particle physics, resulting in more than 90 peer-reviewed publications. These studies have significantly advanced our understanding of several previously unexplored and poorly understood phenomena in the TeV energy regime. The present work provides an overview of the key scientific contributions of HAWC during its first ten years of operation.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), the causative agent of tuberculosis (TB), is estimated to infect nearly one-quarter of the global population. A key factor in its resilience and persistence is its robust DNA repair capacity. Non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) is the primary pathway for repairing DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) in many organisms, including Mtb, where it is mediated by the Ku protein and the multifunctional LigD enzyme. In this study, we demonstrate that Ku is essential for mycobacterial survival under DNA-damaging conditions. Using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM), we solved high-resolution structures of both the apo and DNA-bound forms of the Ku-Mtb homodimer. …

The performance of Large Language Models (LLMs) on multiple-choice question (MCQ) benchmarks is frequently cited as proof of their medical capabilities. We hypothesized that LLM performance on medical MCQs may in part be illusory and driven by factors beyond medical content knowledge and reasoning capabilities. To assess this, we created a novel benchmark of free-response questions with paired MCQs (FreeMedQA). Using this benchmark, we evaluated three state-of-the-art LLMs (GPT-4o, GPT-3.5, and LLama-3-70B-instruct) and found an average absolute deterioration of 39.43% in performance on free-response questions relative to multiple-choice (p = 1.3 * 10

This article explores the use of Talking Circles as a decolonizing pedagogical practice within higher education, grounded in Indigenous epistemologies and relational worldviews. Drawing on the works of Indigenous scholars such as Graveline, Wilson, Archibald, and Simpson, the article positions Talking Circles not merely as instructional strategies but as ceremonial, spirit-centered pedagogies that resist the Eurocentric hierarchical and individualistic norms of Western academia. Through autoethnographic reflection and student narratives from undergraduate and graduate education courses, the article demonstrates how Talking Circles foster relational accountability, ethical engagement, and transformative learning. This report documents the fourth year of the Art TEAMS project, a multi-year professional learning initiative focused on arts-integrated, transdisciplinary teaching practices across Nebraska K-12 schools. During the 2024-2025 academic year, the project advanced work with its second cohort of educators while maintaining engagement with the first cohort to assess the sustainability of implementation. The second cohort brought increased diversity in art forms, including ceramics, digital media, and career and technical education, demonstrating the versatility of arts integration across curricula.

The safflowers (Carthamus tinctorius L. cv Olas) grown hydroponically under nickel (Ni) stress were examined in this study. T he effects of 0, 0.75, 1, 3, 5, 10, and 15 mM Ni on seed germination rate, protein, and pigment content of germinating seeds were investigated. Also, the toxicity of 0.75 mM Ni on plant growth, malondialdehyde (MDA) amount, and anatomy of 21-day-old safflower seedlings were studied. Ni adversely affected the germination rate, radicle length, protein, and pigment content of safflower seeds, particularly when higher than 3 mM. The bidirectional relationship between plants and their soils can be disrupted by the influence of ungulate grazers. Indeed, herbivores affect plant productivity and above-ground community structure, and plants affect soil health and below-ground community structure. However, the effects of herbivory can be subtle and challenging to address experimentally, even in the case of relatively large ungulate grazers. We attempt to resolve this paradox and experimentally test effects of ungulate grazers in two case studies on the Spanish Iberian Peninsula.
