Para-aminothiophenol (PATP) is not only a widely-used probe molecule in the field of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), but also an important model molecule for interfacial reactions, exhibiting distinct photo- and electro-oxidation pathways, so that PATP is selectively activated under different external fields. The evolution of products and intermediates during electrochemical oxidative coupling remains unknown. In this study, we have investigated the dynamic electrochemical oxidation process of PATP on the Au(111) surface using cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical (EC)-SERS, and in situ electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy (EC-STM). The increasing generation of high-strength organic wastes such as food waste and fats, oils, and grease (FOG) presents challenges for landfill capacity and waste management. Anaerobic co-digestion offers a sustainable alternative by converting these wastes into renewable energy and nutrient-rich digestate. This study evaluated the co-digestion performance of single fruit waste residuals and mixed food waste with wastewater sludge to identify substrate combinations that maximize methane production while maintaining process stability. Clinical trials indicate that acalabrutinib, a second-generation Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitor, is safe and effective for treating patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), but real-world evidence on its clinical effectiveness is limited. This ongoing multicenter retrospective chart review included UK adults with previously untreated CLL who received acalabrutinib monotherapy as part of a UK-wide early access program. These patients received their first dose of acalabrutinib between 1 April 2020 and 1 April 2021. Data from 282 patients (male patients, n = 156 [55%]) collected from 29 sites across the United Kingdom revealed a median age of 73.9 years (interquartile range …

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a powerful tool for imaging and reconnaissance, typically operated in a monostatic configuration. Bistatic geometries spatially separate the transmitter and receiver, capturing unique target scattering information, while passive methods leverage existing environmental signals of opportunity. With the advent of massive Low Earth Orbit (LEO) broadband constellations like SpaceX’s Starlink, high-bandwidth reference signals with large Doppler modulation now exist globally, offering bistatic SAR imaging potential worldwide. This research presents an end-to-end simulation to demonstrate the passive exploitation of Starlink communication waveforms for tomographic bistatic SAR imaging. Deadlines fundamentally shape motivation. Research examining effort-based choices finds effort is an avoided cost. However, this overlooks how making progress on longer-term goals to be reached before deadlines motivate people to exert high effort for little immediate reward. Here, we test a framework where motivation depends on deadline pressure (work remaining / time remaining). Across four studies we use computational modelling examining decisions when physical effort makes progress on goals with deadlines. In support of the hypotheses, deadline pressure significantly impacts decision-making, shifting people from avoiding effort, to seeking the progress it makes. Postoperative opioid exposure in opioid-naive patients may carry a risk of persistent opioid use. We present the case of a 16-year-old female with no significant family history who was recently diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type 1 and found to have a rapidly enlarging mass in her left upper extremity. She was scheduled for excisional biopsy. To minimize the need for postoperative opioids, analgesia via a continuous peripheral nerve catheter was employed following resection of the malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor. BACKGROUND: Substance use disorder (SUD) represents a significant public health concern in the United States. SUD recovery is complex and individualized, and support provided by peer recovery coaches (PRCs) can improve outcomes. The PRC-client relationship requires bidirectional mediated communication that is often informal but should be trackable, efficient, and aligned with health care privacy and security regulations. Background: Middle-aged women (aged 40-60) in Malaysia face health concerns due to psychological changes, sociocultural impacts, and hormonal shifts as they age. This study aimed to uncover which aspects of strength training programs enable middle-aged women to better manage their health concerns in Malaysia.

Methods: Following the PRISMA guidelines, we utilized the health belief model (HBM) framework to understand how training programs affect the health of middle-aged women worldwide. We focused on women in Malaysia and the unique cultural barriers they experience. Sources were selected from 2010 to 2025.

Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is associated with emotional instability, impulsivity, interpersonal difficulties, identity disturbance, and stress-related dissociative symptoms that may influence cognitive functioning. Research suggests that BPD may contribute to difficulties with attention, executive functioning, and memory, particularly during periods of emotional distress. These issues, combined with common co-occurring conditions such as trauma exposure, substance use disorders, and sleep disturbances, may affect the encoding, storage, retrieval, and recall of information. This article examines current literature on BPD and discusses how symptoms and associated factors could influence witness memory in forensic and legal settings. This presentation consists of two short papers touching upon an interest of mine in the development of Williams' poetry.  In the first paper about Hopkins I argue for a direct influence that played a role in the transition from Williams' early poetry to his late Arthurian poems.  The second paper dealing with Eliot tangentially addresses a similar influence, but in a much more nuanced fashion. Here I am only offering hints. Collegiate athletic departments face increasing financial pressures, making it vital to identify revenue generation strategies that align with fan preferences for sustainable growth. This study explores how various methods, including corporate logos on uniforms, increasing game-day costs, and accepting loans from private investors, are ranked by consumers in terms of their acceptability and potential impact on fan experience. Guided by prospect theory, we hypothesize fans prefer strategies seen as gains rather than losses and fan identification influences these preferences. Athletic administrators hold positions of influence within intercollegiate sport, yet their experiences, especially in relation to sexual identity, remain underexamined. The purpose of this study was to explore the occupational experiences and environments of LGBQ+ intercollegiate athletic administrators using a narrative inquiry qualitative design. Sixteen administrators, who occupied various positions across all NCAA levels, were interviewed. Guided by Sexual Stigma and Prejudice Theory and Poststructuralism Theory, collected data were analyzed at the semantic and latent levels using reflexive thematic analysis. This paper explores the deep influence of Charles Williams on the lyrics of singer-songwriter Bruce Cockburn, one of the few Christian rock musicians to enjoy mainstream success. Both artists suffer “outsider” status in Christian culture because they regularly cross the boundaries of what is considered “acceptable” Christianity, both in terms of their personal lives and their theologies. Yet their work profoundly depicts crossings between the mundane and spiritual worlds, to the point of denying such boundaries exist at all. C. ferox is currently listed as a vulnerable species by the IUCN Red List (2015) due to deforestation. ABSTRACT: This reflective essay uses Taylor Swift's Eras Tour as a conceptual framework for examining thirteen years of teaching a writing methods course for preservice teachers. Drawing on longitudinal reflection, I identify four distinct pedagogical eras in my practice, each representing shifts in how I conceptualize what preservice teachers need to learn about teaching writing and how clinical experiences shape that learning. Through this extended reflection, I argue that meaningful pedagogical change becomes visible only across time, not semester-to-semester. This article examines how secondary English teachers understand and implement writing pedagogy in their classrooms years after completing a writing methods course. Through reflective interviews and written responses from teachers in their fifth through seventh years of practice, we explore the tensions between pedagogical ideals learned in teacher preparation and the institutional pressures of contemporary schooling. Key themes include the influence of standardized testing on writing instruction, the challenge of maintaining process-oriented approaches amid curriculum standardization, and the ways teachers adapt their methods course learning to their specific school contexts.

This co-authored piece examines how the writing methods course impacts teaching and thinking about writing through the lenses of a writing methods professor and a former student/current teacher. In writing and thinking together we found that a mutual grounding in liberatory education, using writing as a tool for social action and critical thinking, and teaching writing as a political act we see how the writing methods course and the relationships built through writing create a basis for future decision making and inspiration in the high school classroom.
