Literature has suggested that secondary traumatic stress could cause various adverse effects for individuals working with trauma-exposed populations. However, direct care workers performing in shelters designed to serve unaccompanied immigrant children are faced with the task of caring for these minors who may have been exposed to trauma in their home countries, while traveling to the United States, or after arriving in the country. This thesis explores how modern societies desecrate and reconsecrate the sacred through rhetoric, ritual, and visual performance. Using three case studies, Nazi Germany’s transformation of Quedlinburg Abbey, the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol, and Sabrina Carpenter’s controversial church music video, “Feather,” this project analyzes how sacred meaning is violated and restored in religious, civic, and popular contexts. Drawing on Kenneth Burke’s dramatistic cycle and postsecular theory, it argues that desecration and reconsecration are dialogic acts that expose competing moral vocabularies within culture. Traditional educational leadership practices have historically emphasized weakness-based approaches to leadership regarding teacher interventions. Emerging research grounded in positive psychology suggests that strength-based interventions may offer a more effective pathway for supporting educators. The purpose of this action research study was to examine the influence of character strength awareness on teacher self-efficacy. Guided by a strength-based leadership framework, the researcher investigated whether intentional character strength interventions could positively impact teachers’ perceptions of their instructional effectiveness. The Use Of Alcohol-Free And Low-Alcohol Drinks In Pregnancy In The Uk, Kate Maslin, Heather Hopper, Jill Shawe

Alcohol-free drinks [beers, ciders, wines, and spirits containing <0.05% alcohol by volume (ABV)], and lowalcohol drinks (between 0.05% and 1.2% ABV) are increasingly available and may be used as a harm reduction measure. However, it is not known what pregnant women think and feel about these drinks and how regularly they are consumed before and during pregnancy. A cross-sectional online survey was developed and piloted. Women ≥18 years in the UK who were pregnant, or recently pregnant, were recruited via targeted social media advertising. Of the 2092 respondents, 47.8% (n ¼ 1001) were currently pregnant; 55.7% (n ¼ 1167) were between 25 and 34 years, 90.0% were White (n ¼ 1881); 6.1% (n ¼ 128) were drinking alcohol at “increasing risk” levels (>14 units/week) before pregnancy. During pregnancy, 13.5% (n ¼ 282) consumed alcohol, which was more common in the increasing risk category (P < .01). Alcohol-free or low-alcohol drinks were consumed by 71.3% (n ¼ 1491) of respondents during pregnancy; 91.4% of the increasing risk category versus 69.9% of the lower risk category (P < .01). The most common reasons for consuming alcohol-free or low-alcohol drinks were “to choose a safer alternative” (71.9%, n ¼ 1073) and “to feel included in social events involving alcohol” (68.8%, n ¼ 1026). More than half of respondents (56.7%) thought there was insufficient information available about consuming alcohol-free and low-alcohol drinks during pregnancy, with internet searching the primary source of information. Although alcohol-free and low-alcohol drinks are commonly consumed during pregnancy, there are some safety concerns. Their role as a harm reduction measure in those who are drinking alcohol at increasing risk levels prepregnancy needs further investigation.

In this reflective tribute, I draw on a November 2025 remembrance gathering for Allan Leslie Combs to explore how his scholarship on consciousness lived through his presence, pedagogy, and relationships. The article weaves reflections from students, colleagues, friends, and family to show how Leslie treated consciousness as a living, radiant field and knowledge as participatory. Speakers describe a mentor who walked beside their work, welcoming spiritual, creative, and embodied ways of knowing, while trusting love, humor, and trickster-mischief as legitimate modes of inquiry.

Introduction: Pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma (PSC) is a rare NSCLC subtype with poor prognosis. Outcomes to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and genomic features in PSC remain underexplored compared with other NSCLC subtypes.

Methods: Patients from three institutions and the National Cancer Database (NCDB) with metastatic NSCLC treated with ICI alone or with chemotherapy were identified. Clinicogenomics and treatment outcomes were compared across PSC, lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), and lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC).

Results: We analyzed 4841 patients including 165 PSC cases treated with ICI-based therapy from three institutions and 201 PSC from NCDB. In MDACC, 65 (4.3%) were PSC, 1138 (75.1%) …

Background: Asthma is associated with an increased risk of acute respiratory infections (ARI). Little is known about whether natural language processing (NLP)-powered digital biomarkers can identify a high-risk asthma subgroup for ARI during early childhood.

Objective: We assessed whether a digital biomarker could identify a high-risk subgroup of childhood asthma for ARI.

Methods: We applied validated NLP algorithms for Predetermined Asthma Criteria (NLP-PAC) and Asthma Predictive Index (NLP-API) to electronic health records of the 1997-2016 Mayo Clinic Birth Cohort. Background: Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has become a popular alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) for patients with valvular heart disease (VHD), particularly for those with aortic anomalies.

Aims: The study aimed to compare the risks of post-TAVR complications between patients with bicuspid and tricuspid aortic valves and to identify associated risk factors.

Methods: The association between complications and valve type (bicuspid or tricuspid) was assessed. The study also explored various combinations of factors to understand their impact on complications. Separate analyses were conducted to identify specific risk factors for each complication.

The understanding of how antidepressant (AD) use is associated with brain structure in individuals with major depressive disorder (MDD) remains incomplete. Objectives: Physical inactivity, poor nutrition, and obesity are significant, yet preventable contributors to morbidity and mortality among adults. This qualitative study examined internet access and technology use, and barriers and facilitators to engaging in digital cancer prevention programs.

Methods: We conducted 30-60-min semi-structured interviews of Hispanic adults (n = 12) and cancer survivors (n = 10) from two lifestyle intervention trials (September 2021-April 2022) in Houston, Texas, who transitioned from in-person to virtual delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic. Interviews examined in-person versus virtual experiences and were thematically analyzed.

Background: Idecabtagene vicleucel (ide-cel) is a BCMA-directed CAR-T associated with high response rates in relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM), yet responses are not durable and most patients experience toxicities. Fludarabine (Flu) is a key component of lymphodepletion but exhibits significant pharmacokinetic (PK) variability.

Purpose: The entire course of radiation therapy (RT) for high-grade glioma (HGG) is currently derived from pre-RT magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Although it is possible to adapt RT during the course of treatment, it is often guided only by anatomical changes to the tumor. This study seeks to determine if a biology-based mathematical model, parameterized by patient-specific, multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) data, can accurately forecast HGG response during RT.

In recent years, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have emerged as a novel immunotherapeutic approach, offering renewed hope for enhancing cervical cancer patient prognosis. This study represents the inaugural bibliometric analysis of ICIs in the context of cervical cancer, covering the period from 2014 to 2024. A total of 422 articles were identified through the Web of Science Core Collection database, amassing 10,977 citations, with a consistent annual increase in the number of publications. The leading contributors in terms of countries, institutions, journals, and authors included China, the University of Texas System, Frontiers in Oncology, and Bradley J. Monk, respectively. …

Background: Amlitelimab, a fully human, nondepleting, anti-OX40 ligand monoclonal antibody, demonstrated reductions in lesional and pruritic endpoints in adults with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD) in phase 2a and 2b trials.

Objectives: Here, we examined the effect and durability of amlitelimab on clinical outcome assessments (COAs) in the randomized STREAM-AD phase 2b trial.

Objective: To evaluate the impact of radiotherapy on osseointegrated hearing aids (OIHA) complications.

Methods: Retrospective review of percutaneous OIHA performed from 2006 to 2021 at an academic institution. Implant and abutment-related complications were evaluated and stratified by radiation parameters. Main outcome measures were abutment, implant, and major complications assessed using the modified Holgers and IPS grading scales.

Spatial omics technologies have transformed biomedical research by enabling high-resolution molecular profiling while preserving the native tissue architecture. These advances provide unprecedented insights into tissue structure and function. However, the high cost and time-intensive nature of spatial omics experiments necessitate careful experimental design, particularly in selecting regions of interest (ROIs) from large tissue sections. Currently, ROI selection is performed manually, which introduces subjectivity, inconsistency and a lack of reproducibility. The breast and ovarian tumor suppressor BRCA1 is a cell cycle-regulated protein and tumors with reduced BRCA1 protein level may share molecular features of BRCA1-mutant tumor and respond to PARPi therapy. Here, we identify that BRCA1 protein stability is controlled through ubiquitin lysine 11 (K11)-linkage modification under the regulation of Cezanne deubiquitinating enzyme, APC/C E3 ligase, and Ube2S E2 conjugating enzyme in a cell cycle-dependent manner. Cezanne-deficiency leads to increased BRCA1 K11-ubiquitination, decreased BRCA1 protein level, and increased cellular sensitivity to PARPi. Background: Barth syndrome (BTHS) is an ultra-rare, X-linked genetic disorder for which there is limited economic data. Because compiling such data that target rare indications is difficult, we assessed real-world data to increase understanding of the cost of BTHS based on disease burden and health care resource utilization (HCRU).

Purpose: Stroke survivors may develop spasticity (post-stroke spasticity [PSS]) that can challenge activity and participation. Recognising the needs and expectations of people with PSS is crucial for enhancing care. This study is the first to employ social media listening to explore the experiences, unmet needs, and quality of life (QoL) of people with PSS.

Materials and methods: A subset of 417 patient-centric PSS-related posts published on major social media platforms was identified for analysis from 31 600 retrieved.

Latino families with emerging adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) face unique challenges during the transition to adulthood, influenced by cultural values, acculturation, and systemic barriers. UNLABELLED: Metastasis is the main cause of prostate cancer-associated deaths, highlighting the urgent need to determine the mechanisms underlying prostate cancer progression. TROP2 (also known as tumor-associated calcium signal transducer 2) is an oncogenic transmembrane surface protein that is highly expressed in metastatic prostate cancer. Naturally occurring cleavage of TROP2 leads to a release of the TROP2 extracellular domain (TECD) into the extracellular environment. In this study, we identified an important functional role of TECD in prostate cancer metastasis.
