Purpose. Musculoskeletal disorders are a major cause of disability, underscoring the need for clearly defined and assessable competencies in physical therapy education. Although OSCEs are increasingly used in physical therapy programs, evidence regarding their design and psychometric properties is not yet fully characterized within musculoskeletal physical therapy education. This systematic review aimed to describe how OSCEs have been applied to assess musculoskeletal competencies in physical therapy education, summarize their structural characteristics and reported psychometric properties, and identify methodological gaps.

Background and Purpose: Artificial intelligence generated chatbots (AIGC) present new possibilities for physical therapist education, especially for self-directed learning and skill development. Their impact on Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students’ communication and interviewing skills is still underexplored. This case report evaluates DPT students’ experiences and perceptions of AIGC in a case-based classroom activity. Case Description: Participants were first-year entry-level DPT students (n=64) enrolled in a 9-week critical thinking course. They practiced history taking and interview skills with seven patient cases using AIGC and completed a post-activity survey (n=59).

Purpose: To explore the relationships between resilience, religiousness, grit, calling, and differentiation of self in nursing students.

Methods: A cross-sectional design with a questionnaire was used. A total of 434 nursing students currently enrolled in a nursing degree program completed the online questionnaire, for a response rate of 32.3%. The study used the Indonesian version of the following instruments: 1) CD-RISC 10; 2) Four Basic Dimensions of Religiousness; 3) 12-Item Grit Scale; 4) Brief Calling Scale; 5) Differentiation of Self.

Purpose: As the U.S. Hispanic population grows, patients with limited English proficiency encounter health disparities that compromise their care. As a result, clinical Spanish instruction in health professions education has become increasingly necessary to address these disparities. This study compared the effects of two instructional schedules: condensed (8-week) versus distributed (2-year), for a required clinical Spanish course in a physical therapist education program. A secondary aim was to implement a Spanish-language OSCE to assess functional communication proficiency.

Background Incident reports are essential for identifying patient safety events in hospitals, yet physicians—especially resident physicians—submit relatively few reports. Understanding residents’ awareness and experiences related to patient safety is important for promoting reporting and improving organizational safety.

Methods We conducted a questionnaire-based survey between December 20 and 29, 2020, among resident physicians at a single teaching hospital. The survey evaluated satisfaction with residency training, exposure to patient safety education, understanding of incident reporting, and experiences with submitting incident reports.

Code-switching (altering language or speech) and identity-shifting (modifying appearance or behavior) are adaptive strategies often used by individuals from marginalized groups to navigate environments shaped by dominant cultural norms. Although these behaviors are commonly discussed in qualitative literature, relatively few quantitative studies have examined their psychological correlates among Black undergraduate women attending predominantly White institutions (PWIs). Liquefaction-induced lateral spreading is a major type of earthquake-induced ground failure hazard and poses a significant threat to infrastructure systems. While semi-empirical methods, such as Lateral Displacement Index (LDI), have been developed to estimate lateral spreading displacement (LSD), their efficacy for regional-scale liquefaction hazard assessment remains unknown. This study evaluates and improves the LDI method for urban-scale seismic hazard assessments using a comprehensive dataset consisting of 1,713 Cone Penetration Test (CPT) case histories from the 2011 Christchurch, New Zealand earthquake, and high-resolution topographic data. INTRODUCTION: Population-wide dietary sodium reduction is a global priority and a highly cost-effective strategy to lower blood pressure and reduce cardiovascular disease risk. In response, the Nigerian government launched the National Multi-sectoral Action Plan (NMSAP) in 2019, recommending evidence-based policy actions including limiting sodium in processed foods, restricting food advertising especially for children, promoting public awareness, integrating nutrition education in schools, and front-of-package labeling. We conducted a qualitative study to examine progress, barriers, and facilitators in implementing these policy actions 3 years post-launch.

INTRODUCTION: External and internal auditory cueing strategies improve gait function, including velocity and stride length, in people with Parkinson disease (PD). Further, internal cueing can reduce gait variability, a measure associated with falls. In the present study, we asked whether the efficacy of external and internal rhythmic cues depends on dopaminergic status, i.e., OFF vs. ON medication. This question is relevant to the real-world use of cueing, as dopaminergic medication responsiveness fluctuates for individuals. In this paper we present a new approach to counting the proportion of hyperelliptic curves of genus g defined over a finite field Fq with a given a-number. In characteristic three this method gives exact probabilities for curves of the form Y 2 = f(X) with f(X) ∈ Fq[X] monic and cubefree, probabilities that match the data presented by Cais et al. in previous work. These results are sufficient to derive precise estimates (in terms of q) for these probabilities when restricting to squarefree f. The library provides 43 univariate probability distributions with L-moment and maximum likelihood parameter estimation, eight Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) samplers for Bayesian inference, bootstrap uncertainty quantification, bivariate copulas, optimization algorithms, and numerical methods for integration, differentiation, root finding, and linear algebra. We study a conjecture motivated by Coleman and Stein’s work on approximating eigenforms of infinite slope by those of finite slopes, which was recast by Rustom [‘Congruences modulo prime powers of Hecke eigenvalues in level 1’, Res. Number Theory 5(1) (2019), Article no. 10, 27 pages] as a congruence for the second Fourier coefficient. We establish the weight condition required for this coefficient to be divisible by nine and obtain the full conjecture under a natural ramification hypothesis. The proof uses period polynomials, especially Zagier’s description of the Hecke action on them.

This paper examines how a first-grade geometry lesson became a site for exploring shape, selfhood, and belonging in an early childhood classroom. Drawing on interaction analysis of a lesson built around the picture book The Greedy Triangle , we show how children named personal strengths, identified shapes, followed a triangle through changing categories, reflected on why they liked being themselves, and used their bodies to form polygons. We ask what counts as mathematical activity in this lesson and argue that mathematics is not limited to naming shapes. How we view air, especially clean air, has meaningful normative and practical implications. Today, it is commonly recognized as an exhaustible natural resource. But air was not always thought of as something to be conserved, developed, and used. This Article is the first to explore and interrogate that view. The shift to seeing air as a resource started in the first part of the twentieth century. Previously, air was characterized by its limitless supply of oxygen: a pure public good. Water rights have been a key feature of the Navajo Nation’s relationship with the United States. Since the time the Navajo were forcibly removed to the Bosque Redondo in the 1860s, the Tribe has fought for sufficient access to water. A key, but unfortunate, moment in this dispute came when the United States Supreme Court, in Arizona v. Wildfires have grown exponentially over the last few years due to fuel loads, range- and timber-management policies, and climate change. The cost of fire suppression is also growing in both rural and urban areas. For instance, the 2016 Pioneer Fire in rural Idaho cost around $100 million to fight, while the 2025 urban conflagrations in Los Angeles, California destroyed over 16,000 structures despite an astonishing array of suppression resources deployed. This article considers what bots can do as AI law teachers, how students are already using bots for learning, how to integrate the use of AI into law courses, and what faculty can do to stay ahead of the bots in their classrooms. During this discussion, the article confronts the existential question of what is left for human law professors to do in an AI world. It concludes that there is a future for humans for now, and one that might make us better teachers.

Part I of this review focuses on Ellsworth’s primary concern: a fear of the alleged destructive effect of dense neighborhoods and tall buildings. Part II addresses her attempts to deny the link between increased housing construction and lower housing costs. Part III addresses her alternative solutions to New York’s housing crisis.

Sixty years after it was decided, Miranda v. Arizona remains one of the most significant and renowned cases—as well as, arguably, one of the most controversial cases—in the history of the United States. Chief Justice Earl Warren’s majority opinion, establishing the eponymous Miranda warnings for custodial interrogation of criminal suspects, has prompted voluminous and continuing commentary, among both critics and supporters.
