Ebola virus (EBOV) causes outbreaks with high fatality rates, yet potent small-molecule inhibitors targeting EBOV glycoprotein (GP) remain limited. Here, using DNA-encoded chemical libraries, we screen 4.73 billion compounds against EBOV GP and, through stereochemical optimization, identify MWAC-3634. This compound binds GP with high affinity (Kd=40.7 nM), potently neutralizes infection (IC₅₀ = 0.65 nM), shows no detectable cytotoxicity, and exhibits favorable pharmacokinetics in mice. This potency substantially exceeds that of known small-molecule inhibitors targeting EBOV GP. Cryo-EM at 2.54 Å resolution reveals that MWAC-3634 occupies a hydrophobic cavity at the GP subunit interface and stabilizes GP, supporting an entry-blocking mechanism …

Clonal hematopoiesis (CH), an age-related expansion of somatically mutated hematopoietic clones, is associated with increased risk of severe infections including coronavirus disease (COVID)-19, yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we investigated the impact of Dnmt3a deficiency in a murine model of influenza A virus (IAV) pneumonia. Dnmt3a-deficient mice exhibited increased pulmonary viral burden and reduced neutrophil accumulation in IAV-infected lungs despite comparable circulating neutrophil numbers. Functional analyses of neutrophils showed impaired chemotactic migration in vitro, whereas maturation, antimicrobial enzyme content, and metabolic capacity were unchanged. Circadian rhythms are involved in nearly all physiological processes, and their disruption increases disease risk. Aligning drug administration timing with the body's internal clock, known as circadian medicine, holds promise for improving treatment efficacy and safety. However, systematic strategies to identify circadian‐regulated therapeutic targets remain limited. Here, we develop RHINO (RHythmic Interacting Network for multi‐Omics), an integrative multi‐omics framework for exploring circadian regulation across diverse genetic and disease contexts, and prioritizing druggable circadian targets. Purpose: This study examined how different types of sedentary behavior relate to changes in functional disability, measured by activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), among Chinese older adults.

Major findings: Using data from 17,939 participants in four waves (2008–2018) of the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS), sedentary behavior was categorized into four types: none, playing mahjong only, combining these with other sedentary activities, and other activities alone (e.g., reading and watching TV). Visuo-haptic interactions are gaining interest in perception research because of their relevance to robotics and rehabilitation. While the benefits of integrating concurrent visuo-tactile cues are well-documented, the temporal dynamics of competitive interactions between vision and touch remain less understood. Building on extant empirical evidence of unilateral intersensory switching, we ask whether bilateral detection of visual and tactile stimuli can be explained by cross-sensory competition and explore the underlying sensorineural dynamics via a multi-level neural network model. Women remain underrepresented in the United States trucking industry, particularly in leadership roles, despite ongoing efforts to increase workforce diversity and address persistent driver shortages. This qualitative phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of female trucking professionals who began their careers as truck drivers and later advanced into leadership positions. The study examined the strategies that facilitated women’s progression into leadership and the systemic barriers that may limit their advancement within the trucking industry. Semistructured interviews were conducted with 11 female trucking professionals, and the resulting data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Changing student demographics within a large elementary school increased the need for collaboration between leadership and staff as they implemented a wide range of initiatives to support student learning. Grounded in the transformational leadership theoretical framework, this exploratory case study sought to systematically observe and gather knowledge about the experiences of campus leaders as they implement vertical alignment teams to foster a collaborative approach while instituting required initiatives. This literature review examines the factors that influence neighborhood-scale electrification transitions in New York City and explores how these factors interact within urban energy systems. Commercial environmental control systems for live cell imaging chambers frequently cost $10,000–20,000. This paper presents an open-source, PID-controlled heating module built entirely from off-the-shelf components for approximately $500. The system employs four adhesively mounted polyimide heater pads driven at 12 VDC through a closed-loop chain: a K-type thermocouple feeds a Delta DTB4848LV controller, whose analog output is converted to PWM and applied to the heaters via an opto-isolated MOSFET switch. The required heating power was determined through analytical thermal sizing and verified by finite-element simulation (ANSYS Mechanical), confirming that the cell culture region reaches 37°C at steady state. To alleviate the issue of low condensation efficiency of mixed vapor in the presence of high air concentration, this study employs extended condensation surfaces. Ribbed condensation surfaces with rib spacings of 1 mm, 2 mm, and 4 mm are investigated for air concentrations ranging from 30% to 90%. The results indicate that at an air concentration of 30%, the ribs weaken the condensation heat transfer; however, when the air concentration is greater than or equal to 50%, longitudinal ribs enhance the condensation heat transfer by about a factor of two. This memorandum discusses the possible collateral damage that Propositions 41 and 42 (on the ballot in California on November 3, 2026) might cause.  The two propositions were concocted very quickly by billionaires in order to trick voters that will vote for Proposition 40 (the billionaire tax) also to vote for these propositions that are designed to undermine the billionaire tax.

This article describes the development and early implementation of the Youth Development Research-Practice Partnership (YDRPP), a collaboration between university researchers and the Better Out-of-School Time (BOOST) Alliance in Alachua County, Florida. Established to address persistent racial and socioeconomic disparities affecting youth, the partnership used a collaborative qualitative assessment to identify local youth needs, program strengths, and organizational challenges. Findings revealed that practitioners viewed academic support, mental health, social-emotional development, positive adult relationships, physical activity, life skills, and workforce preparation as the most pressing needs of youth. Sports participation plays a critical role in supporting academic success, school engagement, and social-emotional well-being, particularly for girls in urban core public school settings. This study examines the relationship between athletic participation and academic outcomes, attendance, and social-emotional functioning in a large urban public school district during the post-COVID period. Findings indicate that student-athletes outperform non-athlete peers across multiple indicators, including grade point average, enrollment in advanced coursework, and school attendance. Female athletes, in particular, demonstrate stronger academic performance and more favorable social-emotional outcomes compared to female non-athletes.
