Labeo constitutes the largest genus within the cyprinid tribe Labeonini with over 110 recognized species in Africa and Asia. The clade comprises a major component of the herbivore/detritivore guild with considerable socio-economic importance to artisanal and commercial fisheries. A pan-African distribution and wide variety of habitat occupancy make the group a model to investigate diversification patterns, eco-phenotypic variation, and biogeographical events underpinning their radiation at a continental scale. However, previous attempts to elucidate Labeo systematics using either molecular or morphological data have failed to produce congruent and robust results, and much taxonomic and nomenclatural confusion remains. As Cal Poly transitions from the quarter system to the semester system, aligning itself with the other California universities, the idea has been proposed to commemorate this moment in the history of the university with a time capsule. The time capsule will be on display on the first floor of the library for a few years and later moved into the library’s archive room for permanent storage. 50 years after the completion of the semester conversion project, the time capsule will be opened. The goal of this report is to showcase how our final Core Sampler design and prototype address the needs of Navy Divers. Geotechnical equipment for Navy divers has not been updated since the early to mid-1980s, resulting in imprecise and outdated sampling methods. The primary purpose of this project is to enhance, modernize, and redesign a tool to collect a minimally disturbed core sample of the seabed for geotechnical evaluation. This capstone describes the foundational steps created as a process for developing three scripts of varying genres into full animatics. This project guides you through the process of adapting a script written by an outside author and visually developing it to represent the story being told. Looking past the script, this project explains how to add depth to the characters in ways that shape their visual direction. Cardiac fibrosis (CF) is a major contributor to the high mortality rate of heart failure which affects over 23 million people worldwide. CF involves cardiac fibroblasts depositing extracellular matrix, made primarily of collagen type I, which stiffens the heart walls over time. As testing new drugs for CF is deterred by the high cost and time required for animal and clinical trials, this research helps to solve the problem by providing an in vitro platform to study fibrosis.

Too Far, Too Costly, Too Complex: How Structural Factors Impact Women’S Mobile-Money Adoption And Business Investment In Sub-Sahara Africa, Iyabo A. Olanrele Dr

This study investigates how structural factors shape women’s adoption of mobile-money services and access to credit for entrepreneurship across Sub-Sahara Africa. Using cross-country data from the 2025 Global Findex Database, the analysis demonstrates that women face disproportionately higher barriers than men. Long distances to mobile-money agents significantly reduce women’s likelihood of borrowing, while men’s borrowing is less affected. High service and transaction fees further constrain women, reflecting their lower and more irregular incomes, and liquidity limitations prevent many from maintaining active accounts. Documentation requirements, though partially mitigated by improved national ID systems and tiered Know-Your-Customer (KYC) rules, remain a secondary …

This study explores the use of audio sensory input, specifically, relaxation music, as a strategy to reduce off-task behavior in elementary students with autism within the general education classroom. The aim was to minimize distractions and teacher redirections, thereby promoting a more inclusive and productive learning environment for all students. Guided by the principles of improvement science, the research employed a single-case design with three elementary students diagnosed with autism. Data were collected through momentary time sampling and mood inventories during independent classwork periods.

Beginning with a single character sketch, the project explores and reports multiple phases that investigate how ideas take shape across different artistic mediums. This research identifies pain points and gaps in current LGBTQIA+ representation in the video games industry, and showcases the characters that I have created in response to those pain points. Despite the games industry representing LGBTQIA+ individuals often, certain communities under the umbrella are included less often, less accurately, and less respectfully than others. The goal of this research is to identify important considerations for respectfully portraying underrepresented queer communities in video games: specifically transgender, nonbinary, asexual, aromantic, and polyamorous communities, which are especially under-explored. The Corporate Transparency Act (“CTA” or “the Act”) was enacted by Congress in 2021 to combat illicit financial activity through mandated beneficial ownership disclosure. While the current administration has opted not to enforce the CTA’s reporting requirements on domestic entities, the law remains in effect, and its future is uncertain amid ongoing constitutional litigation.

This Note argues that the CTA should be repealed, and state legislatures should refrain from mirroring the Act. The CTA creates undue burdens that threaten effective and efficient corporate governance in small businesses and many non-profits. This Note traces the contentious history of the CTA and …
