Expanding Access To School-Based Oral Health Services In North Dakota: Revisiting Seal!Nd Eligibility Criteria, Nishat Sultana, Shawnda Schroeder
Indigenous Health Faculty Publications
The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services Oral Health Program (OHP) implements the SEAL!ND school-based sealant initiative to provide preventive oral health services such as dental sealants, fluoride varnish, and dental screenings in schools across the state. Federal funding guidelines currently require programs to target schools where 50% or more of students participate in the Free or Reduced-Price Lunch (FRPL) program. While this criterion identifies high-need schools, it inadvertently excludes larger schools with substantial absolute numbers of low-income children. This brief examines the potential impact of two policy recommendations.
The Effect Of Exercise On The Development Of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus In Pregnancy: A Systematic Review Of Literature, Abigail Reiche
The Effect Of Exercise On The Development Of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus In Pregnancy: A Systematic Review Of Literature, Abigail Reiche
The Eleanor Mann School of Nursing Undergraduate Honors Theses
The purpose of this systematic review is to synthesize literature examining the relationship between using exercise as a preventative method for gestational diabetes development during pregnancy, and the effect it may have on lowering glycemic levels. Health Source: CINAHL and PubMed were systematically searched for peer-reviewed journal articles that studied pregnant women (P), and the relationship of consistent exercise (I), compared to no physical exercise (C), on lowering glycemic levels resulting in positive pregnancy outcomes (O), throughout gestation (T). Twenty articles were retrieved in accordance with the PICOT objectives. Additional criteria included only articles from 2019-2024 and articles that were …

Shielding Freedoms: State Noncooperation In Hunts For Evidence And People, Mary D. Fan
Shielding Freedoms: State Noncooperation In Hunts For Evidence And People, Mary D. Fan
Washington Law Review
The nation is fracturing into a patchwork of rights and punishment. What some states and localities safeguard as rights, other jurisdictions are criminalizing and punishing. As the divides in rights and punishment deepen, some states are becoming sanctuaries for freedoms penalized elsewhere and enacting shield laws prohibiting cooperation with criminalization and punishment states. A prime example is shield laws protecting people seeking to exercise reproductive rights or obtain gender-affirming care. Major jurisdictions for healthcare and technology-related businesses, such as Washington, California, New York, and Massachusetts, have enacted shield laws that prohibit law enforcement and companies from complying with subpoenas seeking …
Rural Project Management Practices: Exploring A Challenging Project Management Environment, Crystal Rose Kowalke
Rural Project Management Practices: Exploring A Challenging Project Management Environment, Crystal Rose Kowalke
Student Projects for Graduate Degrees
Project professionals managing rural projects should have working knowledge or experience that allows them to work efficiently and effectively given the unique constraints and challenges of rural project work. Rural being defined in project management context as: A place with few available resources and increased logistical considerations. Unfortunately, obtaining the experience for remote projects management requires investment in time and human resources. Whether it is by the company or the subject matter expert assigned to coach/train the new project professional, this presents an issue of time and resources used to train each new project professional and get them up to …

Bridging The Language Gap: The Impact Of In-Person Versus Remote Interpreter Services On Medication Adherence And Patient Safety In Adult Spanish-Speaking Patients, Ashley E. Alarcon Martinez, Jocelyn N. Lopez Maradiaga
Nursing | Student Research Posters
Background: Significant health inequities are caused by language barriers between patients and health care staff, resulting in miscommunication among adult Hispanic patients with low English proficiency, reducing medication adherence, impairing patient safety, and raising the possibility of medical errors. To address this issue, interpreter services, both in-person and remote translation, have been introduced in healthcare settings to enhance communication. Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in patient safety and medication adherence between in-person and remote translation services for adult Hispanic individuals with limited English proficiency in healthcare settings. Methods: The proposed research involves five local …
Integrated Pest Management Adoption, Pesticide Handling And Knowledge Gaps Among Cotton Farmers In Tanzania: Implications For Human And Environmental Health, Sospeter Jibunge Charles
Integrated Pest Management Adoption, Pesticide Handling And Knowledge Gaps Among Cotton Farmers In Tanzania: Implications For Human And Environmental Health, Sospeter Jibunge Charles
Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences
The global demand for cotton has risen significantly due to its extensive use in the textile and manufacturing industries, making it one of the most valuable cash crops worldwide. However, this growing demand for cotton production is severely threatened by the currently emerging pests which are intensified by the occurring of climate change and variability. As a result, many smallholder farmers have increasingly turned to chemical pesticides use to control the pests and maintain cotton production. But, while pesticides are effective in controlling pests and improving yields, their improper use and mismanagement pose serious risks to human health and the …
A Comparison Of Fixed And Repetitive Models During Imitation Training In Children With Developmental Delays In A School Setting, Laci Fletcher
A Comparison Of Fixed And Repetitive Models During Imitation Training In Children With Developmental Delays In A School Setting, Laci Fletcher
Theses
Imitation training is commonly recommended in applied behavior analytic literature to address deficits in imitative skills. Few studies have directly compared imitative models to identify the most efficient and effective teaching arrangement to facilitate imitative skills (Deshai & Vollmer, 2019; Halbur et al., 2023). Previous results are inconclusive, and the authors recommended further research comparing the effect of fixed and repetitive models. Therefore, the present study was a replication of Halbur et al. (2023) and addressed limitations suggested by the authors. We examined whether components of imitative models affected the efficiency of the model type and reduced faulty stimulus control …
