The current study sought to better understand the dynamics between parasocial relationships and celebrity worship in predicting loneliness among the Jonas Brothers fan community. A comprehensive review of existing literature positioned this dissertation within the context of current research. A quantitative, survey-based methodology was used to examine associations between variables through correlational analyses, and a qualitative component invited participants to share written narratives about the impact the Jonas Brothers have had on their lives. Quantitative findings showed that although parasocial relationships did not directly relate to loneliness, they were strongly linked to celebrity worship, which then mediated the connection between …

Nature-based Solutions (NbS) governance and behavior have the potential to become more equitable, beginning with a closer examination of what equity entails. Governance and behavior together are the actions manifest from internal dispositions and thoughts that facilitate the process of decision-making, in this case, for equitable NbS. This critical review seeks to (1) address the gap in literature on human development and behavioral dimensions of procedural justice for NbS by further defining process-based equity (PbE), and (2) present a framework of best practices for equitable NbS. In 2019, the proposal of an extradition bill sparked widespread outrage, leading to a year of unprecedented social unrest. The protests eventually dissipated with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Chinese central government’s tightening controls. For African Americans, the legacy of racial oppression extends across centuries, from the transatlantic slave trade and enslavement to the persistence of institutionalized racism, White supremacy, racial violence, and structural inequality within the United States. These racialized systems are reproduced intergenerationally through social institutions, education, media, political discourse, historical narratives, and cultural representations that repeatedly normalize negative constructions of Africans and African Americans. This study examines the relationship between emotional intelligence (EQ) and entrepreneurial leadership in Chinese tech startups through an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design. It also examines theater as a critical and creative practice for challenging the patriarchal system. To contextualize this inquiry, the study reviews literature on women scientists whose significant contributions were historically minimized, overlooked, or neglected. Additionally, multiple plays, movies, and creative theatrical works are discussed in the literature review, with particular emphasis on different styles of using theater to illuminate the achievements of women scientists. This Comment examines the existence and impact of alleged loopholes within American gun control laws and explores how these gaps may affect Constitutional rights, legal enforcement, and public safety. In addition to identifying trends in American gun ownership, including patterns of purchasing, possession, and regulatory compliance, this Comment analyzes the current legal standards that determine who is disqualified from owning or possessing a firearm under federal law. Lifestyle intervention is critical for young adults with early-stage hypertension. A Western diet has negative effects on kidney function and blood pressure; however, time-of-day effects are understudied. We hypothesized that consumption of a Western-style meal that is misaligned with the endogenous circadian rhythm would have adverse effects on blood pressure, kidney function, and vascular function. Ten young adults with elevated blood pressure or stage 1 hypertension (means ± SD: 26 ± 8 yr, 50% female) underwent a randomized crossover, isocaloric controlled feeding intervention. While excess adiposity is a known risk factor for incident heart failure ( HF), once the condition is established, observational data suggest that increased body mass index (BMI) may confer a survival advantage. This paradox has emphasized the underlying roles of cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF), and body composition, particularly lean mass (LM), in influencing clinical outcomes.

No standardized, comprehensive approach for radiological image interpretation exists among medical schools in the United States of America. In order to rectify this, we outline a model aimed to help improve how medical imaging can be taught in medical schools. The VOID (Visualization, Orientation/Observation, Identification, Description) guide is a proposed universal, stepwise approach to medical image identification, interpretation, and communication. Diabetes accelerates cardiovascular (CV) target-organ damage through multiple interacting biological modules that amplify risk even when glycemia is modestly controlled^[1]. BACKGROUND

Elective endovascular neurosurgical procedures are increasingly performed in ambulatory neurosurgery centers, enabled by advances in catheter technology, safety of conscious sedation, and refined patient selection. Although complication rates are low, rapid evaluation of postprocedural neurological deficits remains critical. Conventional MRI is often impractical in outpatient or procedural settings, whereas ultra-low-field portable MRI (ULF-pMRI) systems (such as Swoop) allow bedside imaging with favorable diagnostic performance.

Efficient turnover time (TOT) and adherence to first-start time (FST) in operating and angiography suites are critical for optimizing workflow, reducing costs, and maximizing patient satisfaction. Hospitals face challenges in maintaining these metrics due to operational constraints and unexpected emergent cases. Our goal was to compare TOT, FST, and total admission time for elective cases performed in angiography suites at an ambulatory neurosurgery center (ANSC) versus a tertiary hospital (TH).

Automation is regarded as the next phase in the evolution of laboratory IVF. Despite technological advances, most laboratory procedures remain operator-dependent, contributing to variability in performance and outcomes. While automation has improved reproducibility and efficiency in many areas of medicine, its adoption in IVF has been slow. This review examines how automation may be integrated into IVF laboratories through a set of conceptual distinctions. Black and organized workers increasingly find themselves threatened by two key outside forces: one seeking to stop anti-racism efforts via diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices and the other curtailing employees’ union organizing. This Article argues that a response must be grounded in uniquely local strategies by two specific worker coalitions. One coalition—the New Black Workers Movement (NBWM)—arose from Black Lives Matter civil rights protests in 2020 that captivated the workplace and heightened awareness about anti-Blackness and concerns of systemic racism. Women have long faced challenges in balancing their employment with childbearing, facing loss of employment opportunities because of their potential for pregnancy and loss of actual employment when they became pregnant. Over the past six decades, Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court have taken actions with the potential to provide equal employment opportunity for women affected by pregnancy, but those efforts have largely failed because of the actions of lower federal courts in interpreting legislation and the Court’s decisions in ways to reduce protection for pregnancy. Citators have long worked behind the scenes, shaping case law and influencing how judges and lawyers view precedent. Yet their creation has been the sole realm of private publishers. As artificial intelligence (AI) is further integrated into citators’ creation, the human role is at risk of being automated. This article examines citators’ influence over substantive law, the human-in-the-loop justifications for preserving human involvement in citators’ creation, and the argument for courts to produce their own citators.
