The juvenile justice system was designed to rehabilitate youth offenders rather than punish them, but inefficiencies continue to hinder this goal. This research examines how institutional practices contribute to the unequal treatment of juveniles based on socioeconomic factors by analyzing scholarly literature, case studies, and data from government reports. The presentation highlights how juveniles are arrested, charged, and sentenced. It also explores how stereotypes influence perceptions of delinquency and how over-criminalization of behaviors has harmed efforts to rehabilitate juveniles and reduce recidivism. Research became a huge part of this project—I started questioning what defines the Delta, what makes Arkansas special. It's a place of contrasts: rich farmland and a history steeped in slavery, Southern hospitality alongside overlooked landmarks. Throughout the twentieth century, women's activism in Arkansas existed on a spectrum. From sweeping, state-wide movements to incremental shifts in local policy, many women united across racial lines and socioeconomic differences to bring about positive change for all Arkansans. Thousands of unnamed rural women worked directly and indirectly with public figures such as Adolphine Fletcher Terry and Daisy Bates to improve access to healthcare, education, and a better quality of life. For these women in Arkansas, I argue that the intersectional nature of their activism is precisely the reason for their greater successes.

In its broadest form, the “economic loss rule” stands for the proposition that contracting parties who suffer purely economic damages may not recover in tort.1 The doctrine reasons that, in cases where there are no personal injuries or property damage, contract law— and not the law of tort—provides the appropriate avenue for recovery. Exclusivity is an issue concerning how a choice of court agreement is to be enforced. Presumption of exclusivity is a doctrine aimed at ensuring an effective enforcement of the agreement as such.
