Purpose: This quasi-experimental study aimed to evaluate the effects of a mastery learning strategy based on past examination questions on nursing students’ self-directed learning ability and academic achievement in fundamental nursing.

Methods: A total of 106 second-year nursing students from a nursing junior college in Taipei participated in the study. The experimental group (n = 54) received mastery learning interventions, which included practice with past examination questions, error correction, and individualized feedback, while the control group (n = 52) received traditional instruction. Introduction: Clinical research is vital in critical care settings to support evidence-based care for patients. Studies have shown that hospitals involved in research have better outcomes, but the quality of the study is dependent on the multi-disciplinary team involvement, often including the engagement of nurses in clinical research protocol development and delivery. A recent literature review highlighted variable levels of nurses’ clinical research engagement with the need for targeted education, improved communication, and institutional backing, to ensure nurses better engage. Jonathan Birch's (2025) LSE criteria for sentience include motivational trade-offs, exemplified by C. elegansweighing hunger against desiccation risk. Yet once the neural circuit is known, this "trade-off" reduces to a single inhibitory synapse—an ‘elemental’ account discrediting the ‘molar’ one. My commentary illustrates the same discrepancy in Drosophila: dopaminergic ramping during courtship as it progressively suppresses threat-detecting neurons; so persistence past danger reflects recalibrated valuation rather than a weighed decision. As neurobiology increasingly discovers such discrepancies, all criteria resting on behavioral classifications risk being defined away without altering the behavior's validity.

Despite covering more than one-third of the global land surface, a comprehensive understanding of how climate change affects desert ecosystem resilience and the effectiveness of adaptation strategies remains limited. It develops and evaluates a tsunami preparedness medium using a Marker-Based Augmented Reality (MBAR) approach, specifically tailored to the tsunami risk profile of Karangbolong Village, Kebumen Regency, Indonesia. The ability of nursing programs to graduate more students is constrained by a shortage of qualified faculty, limiting program capacity and narrowing the pipeline of new registered nurses (AACN, 2024; Lubhy, 2023). Addressing this gap requires targeted solutions. One proven approach is the Faculty Academy and Mentorship Initiative of Maryland (FAMI-MD), a program launched in 2011 to help registered nurses transition into clinical faculty roles. To date, 684 nurses have completed the Academy, with 70% serving in teaching positions across Maryland—demonstrating its effectiveness as a faculty pipeline.

The Cosmic Fabric Model establishes a continuum-mechanics isomorphism to General Relativity by representing physical space as an elastic three-dimensional hyperplate embedded in a four-dimensional spatial bulk. Reproducing vacuum kinematics requires a vanishing P-wave modulus, which in turn implies a negative bulk modulus—an apparent thermodynamic instability in a closed system. This paradox is resolved by recasting the framework as an open system: the instability is not pathological but instead drives cosmic expansion. In this interpretation, the observable universe is a lower-energy solid formed through continuous solidification from a higher-dimensional precursor fluid. Using multiplicative kinematics from finite-growth mechanics, the model shows that …

Wallacea, particularly the islands of Sulawesi and Flores, holds important archaeological evidence of the behavioral transition between Homo sapiens and earlier archaic hominins. This article aims to compare the behavioral gaps that occurred at two sites, namely Leang Bulu Bettue, Sulawesi, and Liang Bua, Flores. The results of the study indicate that Sulawesi and Flores have significantly different gap patterns, where at Leang Bulu Bettue there was a drastic change in substance, while at Liang Bua the opposite behavior occurred, where there was technological continuity from Homo floresiensis to early Homo sapiens with gradual behavioral changes. L.J.M. Feber was an engineer and the founder of the Catholic Party in the Dutch East Indies. Feber visited the Dutch East Indies in 1909 and worked in Java until 1920. Penelitian ini mengkaji representasi kehidupan sosial remaja queer dalam film tersebut dan relevansinya dengan realitas sosial remaja queer di Belanda, menggunakan teori representasi Stuart Hall dengan pendekatan konstruksionis serta konsep congruence Carl Rogers, melalui metode deskriptif kualitatif.
