The College for Social Innovation (CFSI) is an educational nonprofit that provides 15-week credited social sector internship programs for undergraduate and gap year students. To assess program impact and support strategic decision-making, donor engagement, program improvement, and recruitment initiatives, CFSI collects alumni outcome data through two FormAssembly surveys integrated with their Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP). However, organizational and data infrastructure changes taking place from 2020-2021 created a misalignment between FormAssembly and NPSP data structures, resulting in inconsistent field types, variable naming conventions, data mapping errors, and duplicate records entering the NPSP from 2021-onward. This report discusses the results of an independent study that investigates the impact of ionic-liquid (IL) based electrolytes on Li-CO₂ battery performance. Three electrolytes were compared in this study at two temperatures: room temperature and 60 °C. The electrolytes tested were BMIM-DMSO (an IL-based electrolyte), TEGDME, and DMSO. The results indicate that the IL-based electrolyte enables better electrochemical reactions and achieves a higher discharge capacity than the other two electrolytes. This study also compared cathodes with different catalysts, emphasizing the importance of catalyst choice. The comparison showed that bismuth oxide combined with Vulcan carbon may serve as a strong catalyst …

Evaluating the suitability of deceased organ donor kidneys relies on clinical, laboratory, and biopsy data. Pathologist quantitation of glomerulosclerosis is a critical histologic parameter used in the decision to transplant. This is an arduous task with modest reproducibility and inconsistent correlation with graft outcomes. Prior work shows that deep learning methods automate glomerulosclerosis quantitation with performance superior to on-call pathologists. Extending beyond this prior work, in this study we find that deep learning glomerulosclerosis quantitation better correlates with graft outcomes. Spatial omics (SO) produces high-definition mapping of subcellular molecules within tissue samples. Mapping transcripts to anatomical regions requires segmentation, but this remains challenging in tissue cross-sections with tubular structures like axons in peripheral nerve or spinal cord. Neural networks could address misidentification but are hindered by the need for extensive human annotations. We present SiDoLa-NS (Simulate, Don't Label-Nervous System), an image-driven (top-down) approach to SO analysis in the nervous system. We utilize biophysical properties of tissue architectures to design synthetic images of tissue samples, eliminating reliance on manual annotation and enabling scalable training data generation. In this article, we introduce a new unit Zeghoudi distribution, which is called the bounded Zeghoudi distribution (BZD), an innovative modification of the Zeghoudi distribution (ZD). This new suggested distribution retains the original ZD’s simplicity while improving modeling flexibility and accuracy for data constrained to the unit interval. The BZD displays numerous significant characteristics, including decreased, left-skewed, right-skewed, and unimodal probability density functions, but the hazard rate function can be J-shaped, U-shaped, and bathtub-shaped. Faults are widespread geologic structures that form in sediment and all rock types, occur in all tectonic regimes, and can be a blessing or a curse to society. Faults and fault zones act as conduits for underground movement of water and as plumbing systems for aquifers and springs essential for human habitation in many semi-arid and arid regions worldwide. Faults also provide pathways for natural oil and gas migration and high-permeability zones in hydrocarbon reservoirs, as well as barriers contributing to trapping and reservoir compartmentalization. In this study, we explored the intersection of performing arts and entrepreneurship through an autoethnographic study of a new arts venture, theLAB*, which participated in the Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship's accelerator program at the University of Kentucky. In creating theLAB*, we investigated the feasibility of establishing a dance-forward performing arts presenting organization within a profit-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem. As a multi-generational team of arts managers, we analyzed the experience utilizing scenario-planning and the DIEP (Describe, Interpret, Evaluate, Plan) model of reflection to assess the challenges and benefits of participating in this environment. This paper presents a Quantum-Resistant and Privacy-Preserving Authentication Protocol (PPAP) designed for decentralized systems. PPAP integrates lattice-based cryptographic primitives, particularly Module-Lattice Key Encapsulation Mechanisms (ML-KEM), addressing both quantum computing threats and stringent privacy requirements. The protocol introduces advanced identity masking techniques and a multi-factor authentication layer employing Cheon-Kim-Kim-Song (CKKS) homomorphic encryption, enabling secure and privacy-aware authentication that supports approximate knowledge-based factors such as biometrics and handwritten signatures. Rapid internet expansion and global cloud storage use have heightened the risk of stealthy, persistent, multi-stage Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs). Distributed and resource-limited cloud environments make identifying these stealthy and dynamic threats difficult for traditional Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs). This paper present FedNN-APT, a Federated Learning (FL) and hybrid Neural Network (NN) APT detection system to overcome these difficulties. High detection accuracy and distributed, privacy-preserving training over several cloud devices are achieved by this approach. These exhaustive searches evaluate many possible block configurations to identify the  partitioning that minimizes overall rate distortion cost, and they have proven extremely effective  across diverse visual content. The increasing incidence of screen time of all ages has generated a greater interest in the effect of screens on the human psyche. This paper looks at behavioural data of 2, 000 individuals aged 13-64 to investigate the predictability of a composite mental- health score by various modalities of screen-time, lifestyle and psychological charac- teristics. Growing strawberries in soilless substrates in the greenhouse relies on fertilizers and supplemental light to boost yield and fruit quality. The research evaluated the properties of the biofertilizer and its effectiveness on the yield of Japanese strawberry cultivars Nanatsuboshi and KS-75 under controlled greenhouse conditions, with and without light-emitting diodes (LED) as supplemental light. The cell viability and plant-growth-promoting properties of a liquid consortium biofertilizer consisting of nitrogen-fixing bacteria and phosphate-solubilizing microbes, were characterized. Andisols are characterized by high phosphorus (P) retention, which often limits P availability for crops. This study aimed to analyze the independent and interactive effects of P fertilizer and organic matter (i.e. manure and rice straw compost) on P retention, total P, available P, P uptake, soil pH, and cabbage yield. The Sletr1-2 allele, which reduces ethylene sensitivity in tomatoes, offers a promising approach to extending fruit shelf life by slowing ripening-related metabolism. However, the trait’s success depends on compatibility with the recipient cultivar’s genetic background. This study evaluated fruit characteristics of F1 near-isogenic line (NIL) hybrids carrying Sletr1-2 in the commercial backgrounds ‘Costoluto’, ‘Oxheart’, and ‘Sart Roloise’. Across travel and tourism services research, studies investigating “customer rage” typically prioritize the direct point-of-consumption, often within airport, airline, or hotel contexts. However, the sector is awash with intermediaries (e.g., travel agencies, insurance brokers, booking platforms), which serve as primary points-of-contact capable of shaping customer expectations. Accordingly, the consequences of service failure therein are nuanced and complex. Yet, extant research often portrays service failure as unilateral (i.e., solely the firm in question’s responsibility), overlooking one core demand-side characteristic: the customer’s sense of entitlement. This study reports the results of a survey of teaching methods and assessment techniques for introductory level undergraduate finance courses in British and Irish universities and compares them with the results reported in similar studies conducted in the US and Canada. The survey results show that the most popular teaching methods in the UK and Ireland are the ‘Instructor Overhead Projector Lecture’ and ‘Instructor Computer PowerPoint Lecture’, whereas the ‘Writing-on-the-Board Lecture’ was the most common teaching method in the US and Canada. Price Discrimination In College Tuition: An Empirical Case Study

This paper looks empirically at the financial aid award practices at a small, Midwestern, private university. By awarding more financial aid, colleges and universities effectively price discriminate; that is, they charge some students more than others. The results indicate that students with better high school records and test scores and with more financial need are given more aid. Nonwhite students also receive considerably higher aid. While these results can not be generalized, this analysis should be easy to replicate at other colleges.

Using a database of over 45,000 observations from Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, we investigate the link between course length and student learning. We find that, after controlling for student demographics and other characteristics, intensive courses do result in higher grades than traditional 16 week semester length courses and that this benefit peaks at about 4 weeks. By looking at future performance we are also able to show that the higher grades reflect a real increase in knowledge and are not the result of a “lowering of the bar” during summer. Historically elasticity of demand thinking has been primarily applied to the marketing mix variable of price. However, the concept can also lend meaningful insights into the administration of the other marketing mix and environmental variables in a context of causality. There exists a rich body of literature exploring the more extensive uses of elasticity of demand. However, basic marketing texts, and presumably introductory classes, typically do not feature the wider applications of the tool. This paper explores some of the pedagogical reasons for broadening the treatment of this tool.

This research provides an academic tool for filling a potential gap in education related to the importance of bankruptcy for small business owners’ financial decisions. We develop a teaching supplement that provides a critical and comprehensive analysis of the 2005 Bankruptcy Reform Act’s effect on business owners’ risk taking decisions. The supplement also provides empirical statistics on the bankruptcy outcomes for small businesses and unincorporated entrepreneurs. Renewed attention to this area should enable educators to increase students’ awareness of the rapid changes and provide a practical application for the theoretical concepts within financial economics.
