Towards Spatial Inversion Of Aerial Gamma-Ray Survey Data For Measurement Of Naturally Occurring Radioactivity, Daniel A. Haber

Aerial gamma-ray surveying (AGRS) is used in geologic and environmental contexts to provide data on the surface spatial distribution of naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) or other gamma-ray-emitting isotopes. The standard data reduction workflow for AGRS data involves a process whereby pointwise gamma-ray spectral data are denoised, corrected for numerous sources of background radiation and aircraft height, and are finally converted to physical values by empirical conversion factors. The reduced pointwise data are then typically spatially interpolated to form a continuous surface map.

This qualitative phenomenological study explored post-probationary principals’ perceptions of professional development, examining the relevance, adequacy, and impact of support provided after 4 years of their leadership. Although research and policy have emphasized the development of new principals, professional learning opportunities for those beyond probationary status remain inconsistent, generic, and misaligned with individual and contextual needs. These effects begin to develop during the first year of life and may be attenuated by intergroup contact. Post-quantum cryptography (PQC) adds larger certificates and extra workload to the Transport Layer Security (TLS) handshake. In order to analyze the effect of that change on content delivery, a controlled testbed with conditions replicating a Content Delivery Network (CDN) is used. The system uses a standard X.509 certificate chain over TLS 1.3. It compares RSA with classical key exchange, RSA with hybrid key encapsulation mechanism (KEM), and Module Lattice-based Digital Signature Algorithm (ML-DSA) with hybrid KEM. Despite achieving over 90% accuracy on medical benchmarks, recent studies show physicians cannot effectively leverage language models to improve clinical reasoning. Current benchmarks test isolated factual recall, but clinical practice requires hierarchical navigation through diagnostic categories—starting broad and narrowing systematically from chest pain to cardiovascular pathology to myocardial infarction to specific STEMI types. Existing evaluations cannot measure whether models preserve this taxonomic structure essential for clinical reasoning.

The present study experimentally manipulated the demographic characteristics of the subjects of moral dilemmas such that they were 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80% demographically similar to participants. Participants rated each of these individuals on a novel measure of perceived inherent value, the Perceived Inherent Value Scale (PIVS) and responded to a series of moral dilemmas using the Consequences, Norms, and preference for Inaction (CNI) model of moral decision making where the subjects of the moral dilemmas were the 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80% similar individuals. On-chip terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) is a technique useful for measuring the ultrafast electrodynamics of two-dimensional (2D) electronic systems. Charge carrier collisions occur on the sub-picosecond time scale, and strongly correlated electron interactions (such as superconductivity) typically have energies on the order of milli-electron-volts. These phenomena fall within the terahertz bandwidth, which has historically been difficult to access. Commercial electronics operate with transistors capable of switching rates of around 100 GHz, while small band gap semiconductors (like InGaAs) can detect light down to 0.75 eV (180 THz). Effective Hamiltonian calculations for large quantum systems can be both analytically intractable and numerically expensive using standard techniques. In this manuscript, we present numerical techniques inspired by Nonperturbative Analytical Diagonalization (NPAD) and the Magnus expansion for the efficient calculation of effective Hamiltonians. While these tools are appropriate for a wide array of applications, we here demonstrate their utility for models that can be realized in circuit-QED settings. Our numerical techniques are available as an opensource Python package, qCHeff, which is available on GitHub (https://github.com/ NVlabs/qCHeff) and PyPI (https://pypi.org/ project/qcheff/). Does electoral replacement ensure that officeholders eventually act in voters’ interests? We study a reputational model of accountability. Voters observe incumbents’ performance and decide whether to replace them. Politicians may be “good” types who always exert effort or opportunists who may shirk. We find that good long-run outcomes are always attainable, though the mechanism and its robustness depend on economic conditions. In environments conducive to incentive provision, some equilibria feature sustained effort, yet others exhibit some long-run shirking. While many of these violent situations can be managed, some tragically escalate to fatal outcomes, leaving families mourning the loss of their loved ones at the hands of a facility that was meant to provide safety and care during their final years. Purpose This study proposes and tests the nexus between climate for green initiatives, green innovative behaviour, organisational citizenship behaviour for the environment, green work engagement, and individual green values. Design/methodology/approach The study adopted the explanatory research design, where data were gathered from 374 star-rated frontline employees at two different waves within a one-month interval. By the time Emery Barron sued Pennsylvania Department of Corrections officials in 2021, they had kept him caged for almost six years in solitary confinement without providing a pathway for him to reenter general population. Department of Correction policy calls for officials to review the ongoing need for solitary confinement after an initial ninety-day stint in disciplinary confinement. However, procedural carve outs allow officials to leave people like Barron in solitary indefinitely without an opportunity to be heard by a decisionmaker and without requiring officials to assert any legitimate penological interest behind the confinement.

Purpose – This paper examines the barriers constraining women's career choices and progression within the South African construction industry. Design/methodology/approach – The study employed a mixed-methods research approach, utilizing a questionnaire survey of construction industry workers listed in the Construction Professions Register, the Builders Collective and the Housing Assembly Organization. It also used interviews to validate the quantitative data. The data collected were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including factor analysis. Nuclear Factor IA, a member of the long-studied Nuclear Factor I family of DNA-binding proteins, plays pivotal roles in development and metabolism. Dysregulation or loss of Nuclear Factor IA is associated with severe neurological defects in humans and disruptions in fatty acid metabolism linked to conditions such as osteoarthritis. Despite extensive study, the DNA recognition mechanism of Nuclear Factor I family proteins remains unresolved. Prostate cancer management faces significant challenges in distinguishing indolent from aggressive disease, particularly since most patients are intermediate-risk and therefore hinders the ability to recommend standardized treatment recommendations. Moreover, current prognostic tools including Gleason scoring and tumor staging demonstrate limited accuracy for predicting disease progression and tumor recurrence. DNA methylation serves as a stable epigenetic modification that directly regulates gene expression, making it an ideal biomarker for cancer prognosis. Therefore, this study leveraged whole-genome enzymatic methylation sequencing on 120 patients to develop a novel prognostic signature for aggressive prostate cancer progression.
