Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents higher education with both transformative potential and profound risk. While AI-tools can personalize learning and enhance collaboration, they also threaten to erode critical thinking, intellectual independence, and the reflective depth of human inquiry. This conceptual analysis applies transdisciplinary communication (TDC) and educational psychology frameworks to examine how AI integration influences learning, teaching, and institutional practices. Findings highlight that AI-tools can strengthen collaboration, automate administrative tasks, and promote inclusivity across languages and disciplines. However, overreliance on automation risks reducing empathy, ethical reasoning, and creativity. This systematic review indicates that hydroxyurea may be a promising pharmacologic option for leukoreduction in paediatric critical pertussis. In reported cases, hydroxyurea was associated with leukocyte reduction and short-term survival. Its ability to potentially reduce the need for invasive leukoreductive procedures is especially relevant in resource-limited settings. While these observations are encouraging, the evidence base remains limited to a small number of uncontrolled case reports and case series, with inconsistent safety monitoring and no long-term follow-up. Given the very low certainty of the available evidence, these results should be considered preliminary and hypothesis-generating. Further well-designed, multicentre studies and randomised trials …

BACKGROUND: Adults and children often respond differently to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection, with adults facing a higher risk of symptomatic and severe illness. We hypothesize that children's protection from symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 may be due to more frequent respiratory viral infections, which prime their airway antiviral defenses.

METHODS: Using case-cohort and case-control analyses in the Human Epidemiology and Response to SARS-CoV-2 cohort, we evaluated whether infection with common respiratory viruses protects against SARS-CoV-2 infections and investigated airway molecular mechanisms by which this protection is achieved. Background: Albatrosses can commute long distances to feed during the breeding season by avoiding energetically costly flapping flight. Energy from both wind and waves can be used to sustain soaring and reduce flapping flight, yet most studies of albatross flight have focused solely on the influence of wind. Methods: To examine how wind and waves allow albatrosses to reduce energetic costs by limiting flapping flight, we analyzed how the flap rates of five albatross species (370 individuals) across two ocean basins varied with wind speed and swell height. This study presents a hybrid multi-generation energy system designed to overcome solar intermittency while meeting the global demand for integrated delivery of electricity, water, cooling, and sustainable fuels in the transition to decarbonization. The engineering application integrates solar thermal and wind energy with a modified Brayton cycle, a Steam Rankine Cycle (SRC), and a Thermoelectric Generator (TEG) to simultaneously produce electricity, fresh water via Reverse Osmosis (RO), hydrogen and oxygen via Proton Exchange Membrane Electrolyzer (PEME), and cooling (via absorption chiller) within a unified optimization framework. Microplastic fibres (MPFs) dominate treatment plant influents but are difficult to remove due to their morphology, composition and low density, limiting the effectiveness of coagulation flocculation pre-treatment. Integrating coagulation-flocculation with microbubble introduction offers a sustainable route to improve MPF removal, yet conventional inorganic coagulants often require high dosages, show strong pH dependence, and pose environmental risks. Chitosan is a biodegradable and non-toxic green alternative, but its application is limited due to its low solubility and pH sensitivity. This study investigates how cultural and linguistic backgrounds shape this delicate rhetorical act by conducting a contrastive analysis of dialogic engagement in scientific discussions. The study aimed to analyze the distribution and spatial suitability of industrial cities in the Riyadh region and to investigate the geographical factors affecting their location, highlighting their developmental achieving the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The study employed a combination of analytical and statistical inference methods, supported by research tools, most notably spatial analysis using geographic information systems (ArcGIS). The findings showed that the general pattern of industrial city distribution in the region is clustered. This study investigated the translanguaging strategies used for teaching English as a foreign language (EFL) at seven Saudi universities. Quantitative questionnaire data were collected from 22 instructors, and qualitative written interview data were collected from four instructors. The findings indicate that Saudi EFL instructors reported a positive perception of translanguaging and its application, despite certain challenges, such as needing extra class time and incompatibility with standardized assessment. Translanguaging was perceived to encourage EFL students to participate more effectively and express ideas in Arabic that they struggled to convey in English. This study aims to examine the relationship between organizational climate and job satisfaction through the mediating role of social capital. This study is a cross-sectional descriptive study that examined three variables using a sample of 353 faculty members from a Saudi public university. Correlation coefficients were obtained to test the hypotheses and the significance of the relationships. The findings reveal that Organizational climate is positively related to job satisfaction. This phenomenological study explored the experiences of 11 school counselor supervisors whose supervisees were exposed to student suicide. We found five themes: prioritizing emotional support, suicide self-efficacy, supervisors’ reaction to suicide, identifying systemic issues in schools, and school counseling professional identity issues. Implications for counselor educators and supervisors are discussed.

We explored 18 mental health counselor trainees’ (MHCT) experiences regarding the focus of supervision they received in Integrated Behavioral Health settings. Utilizing Q methodology, we obtained Clinical Skill Development as a Counselor and Interdisciplinary Team Membership as the main areas of trainees’ supervision focus. More specifically, counselor trainees identified developing clinical skills related to client care, case conceptualization, and the delivery of clinical services, as well as strengthening their professional identity while integrating into an interdisciplinary team, as critical areas of their supervision. We discussed the findings along with practical and research implications as well as limitations of the study.

The authors of this article sought to explore the research mentoring needs of International Doctoral Counseling Students (IDCS). The purpose of this inquiry was to help research mentors better support this community. Centering Relational Cultural Theory as the theoretical framework, the authors interviewed 14 participants. These individuals were identified using convenience and snowball sampling. Using interpretive phenomenological analysis, three grand themes emerged from participants’ interviews: socialization and belonging in academia, feeling invisible, and mutuality and research. Implications for research mentors and/or counselor educators, and future research are also discussed.
