Background: Post-acne hypertrophic scars and keloids result from abnormal wound healing within the pilosebaceous unit. Ruptured microcomedones create wounds that can lead to prolonged inflammation, increased collagen synthesis, and fibrinolysis inhibition, resulting in elevated scar tissue in acne lesions. Vitamin D deficiency can lead to prolonged inflammation and damage to dermal collagen. High total cholesterol levels can lead to excessive sebum production, exacerbating inflammation and fibrosis. Background: Superficial dermatomycosis, predominantly caused by dermatophytes, affects approximately 20–25% of the global population. However, non-dermatophytic fungi, such as Cladophialophora species (sp.), can also cause similar cutaneous infections. Although less common, these organisms are particularly concerning in immunocompromised individuals.

Case Illustration: A 66-year-old immunocompromised male presented with widespread pruritic and erythematous patches, initially misdiagnosed as tinea corporis. Despite receiving standard antifungal therapy, his condition persisted. We explore the performance of digital payment system instruments during both the pre-COVID-19 period and during the pandemic. We focus on four main digital economic indicators in Indonesia; namely, electronic money, Automated Teller Machine (ATM), digital banking, and Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) transactions. Using monthly data covering the period 2013:01 to 2023:04 obtained from Bank Indonesia, we employ the Difference-in-Differences method to assess the impact of the pandemic on digital economic indicators. Impact Of Dividend Policy On Share Price Volatility: Evidence From Sri Lanka, Maleesha Piumini Panangala, Neluka Devpura, Ravindra Lokupitiya

This paper investigates how dividend policy affects share price volatility among companies on the Colombo Stock Exchange from 2012 to 2020, including the COVID-19 period. Using a fixed effects model that explains 70% variability, we find both dividend per share and payout ratio significantly reduce share price volatility. Results remain robust even after excluding 2020 data. We identify several policy implications including how our results are useful for policy makers in understanding financial market instability and how investors can factor information in forecasting market prices.

This work assesses the association between digital transformation, macroeconomic stability, and economic growth. We employ yearly data from 2010 to 2021 in ASEAN countries. The findings show digital transformation and macroeconomic stability can increase in GDP in the long term. Digital transformation contributes favorably and substantially, while macroeconomic stability negatively and significantly affects economic growth in the short-term. The study reveals causal link between digital transformation and macroeconomic stability, causality from digital transformation to economic growth, and economic growth to macroeconomic stability. This implies that digital transformation is the engine of growth.

This study examines how news intensity and investor numbers affect the link between news sentiment and equity price movements in Indonesia, using the LQ45 Index. Applying methods such as correlation analysis, CAPM, VAR, Granger causality tests, and rolling correlations, we find that higher news intensity and investor participation strengthen the connection between news sentiment and stock returns while also increasing volatility. The findings suggest that incorporating news sentiment analysis can improve market stability and investment decisions in developing economies.

BACKGROUND: One out of eight men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime. Black men are more likely to be diagnosed with and die from prostate cancer than other males, contributing to significant prostate cancer disparities. Early detection, often by routine screening, allows for more options for treatment and an increased chance of survival. Barriers to screening contribute to prostate cancer disparities, particularly among those who lack regular access to health care. So far, no conclusive evidence of a consistent association between immigration and social policy support has emerged. This might be due to treating immigrants as a monolithic mass. This paper examines herding behavior in the Indonesian and Chinese capital markets before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Stocks listed in the LQ45 (Indonesia) and SSE50 (China) in 2015-2021 are utilized. The results of daily data analysis of the dispersion of individual stock returns against market returns indicate that GARCH is a reliable model. We find that LQ45 investors do not exhibit herding in bullish/bearish conditions, including extreme markets during the pandemic. The findings indicate that high market volatility is not related to herding behavior. This study presents a decarbonization pathway for Tanzania’s industrial sector by integrating a 2.966 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) system with a 2 MW/8 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at KNAUF Gypsum Tanzania. A comprehensive techno- economic analysis was conducted using PVSyst simulations software. The simulation integrated site-specific meteorological data, component specifications and the factory’s electricity load profile to model annual generation patterns, system losses and battery charging and discharging cycles. The model accounted for system degradation to ensure realistic long-term performance projections.
