The rapid expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed modern computing by enabling seamless connectivity among heterogeneous devices across diverse application domains. However, this increased interconnectivity has significantly enlarged the attack surface of IoT networks, exposing them to a wide range of sophisticated cyber threats. Conventional security mechanisms often lack the capability to detect emerging attacks in real time, thereby necessitating the development of intelligent Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) capable of accurately identifying malicious network activities. This study explores clinician leaders understanding and perception at site level towards machine learning (ML) decision support tools for paediatric related emergency care across the UK and Ireland, essential in guiding safe and effective frontline implementation. A cross-sectional online survey was distributed via Paediatric Emergency Research United Kingdom and Ireland (PERUKI) to the lead for digital systems or PERUKI site lead, with one response sought per site. Survey development was in REDCap, and descriptive analysis (counts, percentages) was primarily performed. The response rate was 86.7% (65/75), mostly from England (83.1%). The integration of advanced technical skills and supply chain management (SCM) tools is critical for the evolving demands of agribusiness. This study identifies the technical competencies, software proficiencies, and educational strategies essential for preparing students to excel in modern SCM roles. Through semi-structured interviews with 26 SCM professionals across US agribusiness sectors, the study highlights the demand for expertise in tools such as SAP, Power BI, and SQL alongside capabilities in data-driven decision-making and adaptability. Despite theoretical preparation, graduates often lack practical experience with industry-standard technologies, underscoring a gap in academic curricula. Dermatology skin lesion image analysis research has been ongoing at Missouri S&T (previously UMR) since the 1980s. Our group has been successful in finding over 20 key dermoscopic structures in melanoma, melanoma mimics, and nonmelanoma skin cancers using iterative structure-based analysis. Structures are chosen to reduce system errors which are concentrated in a few classes: amelanotic/featureless, regressed, and small in situ melanomas, and the most difficult benign lesions to identify: Clark nevi, lentigines, and seborrheic keratoses [1]. A Scalable Distillation And Metric-Learning Pipeline For Adaptive Weed Classification On Edge Devices, Abderrezak Allalen, Omar El-Gayar

Smart agriculture increasingly relies on automated weed detection to reduce inputs and labor. Deploying deep learning on edge devices is difficult due to limited compute and evolving weed classes. We propose a pipeline that combines partial fine-tuning of an EfficientNet-B7 teacher, embedding level distillation into lightweight students (MobileNetV3, ShuffleNetV2, EfficientNet-B0), and semi-hard triplet metric learning. The system learns 2048D embeddings and is evaluated with N-way/K-shot episodes to mimic a few-label condition. Dynamic INT8 quantization enables CPU-only inference with minimal accuracy loss. This study employs a qualitative, grounded theory approach, enhanced by large language models (LLMs), to analyze job postings related to AI. The growing use of GenAI tools in programming education raises concerns about student over-reliance and the potential adverse impact on the development of foundational skills. This research-in-progress adopts a Design Science Research (DSR) approach to propose the GRE Model, a pedagogical artifact for Python programming education. The model structures learning into seven modules aligned with Bloom’s Taxonomy and integrates AI-supported guidance, reflective practice, and evaluation. The paper contributes a design-oriented framework that supports the responsible integration of GenAI while promoting critical thinking, engagement, and core programming competencies.

Sharenting, the parental practice of sharing children's personal information online, raises critical privacy, ethical, and regulatory concerns. This systematic literature review and research agenda examines how sharenting is studied, analyzing theoretical frameworks through an information systems (IS) lens. Findings identify five key themes—privacy management, identity presentation, consumer vulnerability, social influence, and parenting ethics—shaped by broader technological, social, and regulatory forces. To structure these insights, this study introduces a three-domain framework to categorize how digital infrastructures, cultural norms, and policy gaps influence sharenting behaviors. For decades, jurists and scholars have touted the virtues of judicial restraint—a characteristic of judges who only adjudicate issues they are competent to resolve, thereby avoiding political thickets and preserving their authority. Judicial restraint is ingrained in justiciability doctrines that emanate from Article III of the Constitution. When applied evenhandedly, standing requirements, the political question doctrine, and prudential manageability prerequisites to litigation help the Court maintain an appropriately restrained docket.

The Cigalère Cave is a 21 km-long karstic cave located in the Ariège Department, in the French Pyrenees, and underlies directly the Bentaillou Pb-Zn-Fe sulfide ores. The cave hosts abundant gypsum mineralizations, some of them exhibiting various colorations including blue, yellow, purple, orange and black. Due to strict preservation policies, these colored mineralizations have not been studied much. Here we propose a non-destructive characterization of five distinct gypsum or carbonate speleothem structures from the Cigalère, exhibiting different colorations. Newcastle disease (ND) virus (NDV) infection ranks among the most important poultry diseases globally. In Nigeria, ND remains a persistent menace to poultry production, marked by recurrent outbreaks. However, there is limited understanding of the evolutionary changes and transmission dynamics of the virus in the region. A molecular epidemiological study was conducted to elucidate the evolutionary and transmission patterns of NDV in Nigeria. Phylogenetic analysis of seven NDV isolates from cases recorded between 2023 and 2024 in four Northeastern states exhibited genetic diversity and formed distinct clusters that correspond to the prevailing subgenotype XIV.2. This phenomenological study explored the complex phenomenon of sense of belonging (SB) among diverse health professions educators (HPEs) and non-health professions educators (non-HPEs) at a Canadian community college. SB, as a dynamic construct shaped by an individual's perception of being valued and respected, is influenced by personal preferences and by complex interactions with the individual's surroundings. To better understand SB and foster a more inclusive environment for diverse educators, it is necessary to investigate SB among these educators. In the United States, over 650,000 people die annually from cardiovascular disease (CVD) with high associated health care and economic costs.1 Despite a strong scientific basis for their beneficial impact on health,2 rates of preventive screening remain low.3 Levels of adherence to preventive guidelines are even lower in African American populations, socioeconomically disadvantaged populations, and underserved rural populations.4 Rural populations have higher rates of modifiable risk factors—obesity, smoking, physical inactivity—for CVD than urban populations and bear a disproportionate burden from CVD.5–7 Rates of undiagnosed and poorly treated high blood pressure are more common in rural areas.8,9 Racial/ethnic minority populations also …

The cultural emergence of artificial intelligence systems named after figures of divine wisdom—most notably the Hanson Robotics humanoid Sophia, granted Saudi citizenship in 2017—reveals a gap between the language of the wisdom traditions and that of contemporary technology. This paper treats that gap as the occasion for theological and ethical reflection on AI. Drawing on the Sophia tradition across its Hebrew, Hellenistic-Patristic, Gnostic, Russian Sophiological, perennialist, and Sufi articulations—especially Sergei Bulgakov’s account of Sophia as mediation between divine wisdom and created order—it develops a framework termed Consecrated Technology. Reading proficiency scores are low throughout the nation. Reading proficiency is a foundational skill that supports academic success across all content areas. Skilled reading involves multiple interrelated components. Assessment can support teachers to identify skill deficits and inform instruction; however, rural teachers lack the time, resources, and specialized support to translate the data into effective instruction and interventions. To better contextualize this need, we received 59 surveys from South Dakota teachers with 23 of the surveys being valid responses, finding that teachers feel prepared to teach reading and struggling readers. Personally Identifiable Information (PII) leakage from home environments poses significant identity theft risks. While enterprise networks employ robust security measures, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls, these protections rarely extend to home settings, creating a critical security gap. Current firewall technologies lack the capability to detect and scrub PII from outbound traffic, leaving vulnerable populations such as children, elderly users, and remote workers exposed. Quantum computers use classical embedded processors to sequence control pulses. On STM32-class microcontrollers, firmware emits operation classes (gates (X, Y, Z), measurements (MEAS), and timing barriers (WAIT)) at precise intervals. If execution time depends on a secret value, an attacker with a logic analyzer can recover that secret. This classical control plane is a largely overlooked attack surface. This work presents a simulation-based investigation of timing side-channel leakage in quantum-control firmware sequencers.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched an attack from the Gaza Strip into Israel, resulting in the deaths of 1,200 people and triggering a larger conflict. Despite possessing impressive intelligence capabilities, Israel failed to anticipate the attack. This project provides one of the first postmortem analyses of the October 7 intelligence failure and demonstrates methods for assessing the role and significance of key contributing factors.
