A Verbal Snapshot Of Visual Scrutiny Primarily In The Sphere Of Art, Matthew Alverson
Theses and Dissertations
Finding and extracting meaning from the world I encounter every day is the primary motivation behind my creativity. The significance of life is not fixed and it is our responsibility to make it up to best suit the desire to have purpose. Depending on the way something is looked at determines the meaning behind it. Anything can have content if it is seen and translated a …

Effectiveness Of Catalog Printing On Online Consumers, Sarah Chan
Graphic Communication
The purpose of this study was to demonstrate how catalog printing could still have a significant impact on the behavior of online shoppers. It is a common trend in companies to use print catalog as more of a branding vehicle than a selling tool. Often, print catalogs are an essential tool in reinforcing a company’s brand image. Using catalog printing could potentially enhance company brand image and extend services and products being offered to consumers and prospective clients.

How Being A Teaching Artist Can Influence K-12 Art Education, Mark Graham, Susan Goetz Zwirn
Faculty Publications
Many K-12 art teachers have rich artistic backgrounds and continue to be active as artists in spite of the challenges of time, energy, and stereotypes that insist a real artist would not teach. This article describes a research project that examined the educational dynamic engendered by teachers who are also artists. We interviewed and observed teachers to explore how teachers’ personal artistry and artistic activities beyond school contributed to their teaching in school. It was clear that some teaching artists changed the educational dynamic of the classroom in ways that invigorated both the content and practice of teaching and learning. …

The Xerox Book was conceived as an exhibition in book form: Siegelaub invited the seven titular artists to submit 25-page projects designed to be reproduced by the then-new technology of the photocopy. However, photocopying proved too expensive at the time, and the book was printed on a traditional offset press. The Xeroxed Book is …
