Chroma Cowboy consists of eleven canvases wrapped in used feed sacks layered with vinyl to create brightly colored narrative scenes. Pulling from Pop Art colors, cubism shapes and a consciousness of materials, I designed this body of work to give the hard-working cowboys, ranchers, and agribusinesses a way to have their stories told to a larger audience. My capstone essay, “Banned or Grand?: Why Graphic Novels Maus and Persepolis Belong in The Classroom,” seeks to research both the objections to oft-banned memoir graphic novels being incorporated in the secondary school curriculum and the reasons why these graphic novels should not only be incorporated into the curriculum, but also why they assist students in developing necessary skills, such as higher-level critical thinking, a deeper understanding of complicated historical events, and the analysis of form and structure in literature, rather than just content. To enhance my research, I connected my main points to the pedagogical theory of learning transfer.

Low-income communities in Australia face numerous negative impacts, such as health issues, social exclusion, educational disparities, and discrimination, which limit their opportunities to improve their quality of life (The Public Defenders,2022). As a result, students from these communities often have fewer resources and less funding, contributing to poor educational outcomes and underrepresentation in STEM fields, which includes environmental education (Australian Department of Education, 2022).

I developed the cohesive branding, marketing posts, and merchandise for a proposed music festival that features my favorite EDM artists and integrates culture and community values. For this project, I combined personal experience and research to develop the most effective design strategy for a new festival.

The final deliverables include lineup announcement posters, brand guidelines, social media posts, and merchandise mockups. The previous owner of The High Tide Inn was very old and had owned the Inn for a long time, running on word of mouth and the quaint charm of the location. However, there is an identified skills deficit in understanding entrepreneurship in the communication design sector (Design Enterprise Skillnet, 2021; Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, 2016; Intertrade Ireland, 2009; Design Council, 2007; Enterprise Ireland, 1999). A Typeface For Tolkien: Hammer Uncials In Tolkienian And Gaelic Texts, Eduardo Boheme Kumamoto

This article explores the use of Victor Hammer's Uncial Typefaces for texts either by Tolkien or related to his literature, and, at the same time, for Gaelic texts. First, Tolkien's issue with the typefaces selected for the dust-jacket of The Lord of the Rings is recounted. Then, Victor Hammer's typefaces are presented along with examples of them in Tolkienian texts. Lastly, some reasons that might explain such usage are proposed.
