Measuring The Scholarly Impact Of A Bibliography Of Canadian Inuit Periodicals, Sharon Rankin

This study examines how the scholarly impact of specialized bibliographies can be measured over time. Using A Bibliography of Canadian Inuit Periodicals as a case study, it applies Maleki's (2021) framework of fourteen impact metrics to assess the influence of a bibliography documenting periodicals by, for, and about Inuit communities in Canada. Evidence was found for nine impact indicators, including citation, discoverability, and online engagement measures. The findings demonstrate sustained scholarly use and highlight the value of both print and web-based bibliographic resources. Purpose: This review aimed to determine the prevalence of replication studies in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders and examine longitudinal changes in this prevalence across American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) journals from 1936 to 2024. It is a conceptual replication of Cook and colleagues' review of replications in special education journals.

Method: Our data source comprised 17,843 journal articles published in seven ASHA peer-reviewed journals between 1936 and 2024. We identified 3,903 articles, excluding duplicates, that had at least one instance of replicat*. How can we integrate the principles, practicalities, and complexities of open educational resources (OER) and open access scholarly literature into graduate-level education? At the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY), the popular and successful Open Knowledge Fellowship offers a much-needed intervention in doctoral education by addressing these topics and associated debates. Between 2020 and 2025, the intensive six-week Fellowship program was offered 12 times and trained over 200 doctoral students from across the disciplines in the selection and use of openly licensed resources in the courses they teach. This article examines the relationship between law librarianship and legal information science in the age of generative AI (GenAI), arguing that closer integration between the two is essential to navigating a rapidly evolving legal information landscape. It contends that law librarianship—long grounded in stable classification systems and cognitive authority—must adopt the analytical methods of legal information science to remain effective in the digital era. Together, these fields can reinforce the rule of law by improving the organization, retrieval, and stability of legal information. University libraries in the United States play a critical and growing role in supporting open access (OA) scholarly journals, yet the labor required to sustain these publications—who performs it, how much time it demands, and how it is compensated—remains underexamined.

Recent research by Lange & Severson examined labor in Canadian non-commercial independent journals, providing valuable insights into editorial structures and compensation models in that national context. However, their study did not include journals hosted or published by U.S. university libraries. Logical pluralism is the view that there is more than one correct logic. This is in contrast with logical monism, which holds that only one is, and logical nihilism, which holds that none are. Monists are typically folks who defend a single logic, like Michael Dummett (2000) or Alan Ross Anderson and Nuel D. Belnap (1975), as correct for guiding deductive reasoning.

This study presents the first longitudinal bibliometric mapping of peer—reviewed research on The Bahamas, analyzing 12,113 Web of Science records (1975–2025) using CiteSpace v.6.4.R2. We identified 36 co—citation clusters (modularity Q = 0.7967; silhouette = 0.9231) and 28 keyword clusters (Q = 0.7523; silhouette = 0.8695), revealing 8 thematic trajectories over 5 decades. Early research (prior to 1990) focused on carbonate geology and sea—level dynamics across the northwestern Bahama Platform and Blake—Bahama Basin (Cluster#0, silhouette = 0.939). From the 1990s–mid—2000s, attention shifted to marine fisheries, Aliger gigas, coral reefs, and ecological resilience (Cluster #1, n = 203). In the …

These systems include aggregators of bibliographic metadata (e.g., DBLP, OpenCitations, OpenAIRE Graph, OpenAlex, ORKG, Semantic Scholar, CiteSeerX, and CORE); publication, data, and software repositories (e.g., Arxiv.org, Figshare, Zenodo, Software Heritage, and Dataverse); and PID authorities (e.g., ORCID, ROR, Crossref, and DataCite). Reproducibility and replicability (R&R) are structural properties of scientific knowledge, yet existing R&R evidence remains fragmented across domains and initiatives. We present an ongoing effort to develop a centralized, cross-domain database of R&R studies that links published works to their corresponding R&R attempts and supporting assessments. Bibliographic metadata and title-based matching through scholarly indexing services identify canonical records and persistent identifiers. A heuristic, uncertainty-aware matching algorithm supports intra-source and inter-source deduplication, complemented by manual review of ambiguous cases. A unified schema accommodates heterogeneous assessment frameworks and records original studies, R&R studies, assessments, aggregated summaries, and source provenance. The database currently …

This study examined the role of libraries in supporting Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in the Philippines, with particular focus on American Corners as library-based learning spaces. Grounded in the increasing demand for flexible and accessible education, the study aimed to assess the readiness of American Corner libraries and determine the extent of MOOC implementation, as well as examine the relationship between these variables. It addresses evolving user expectations by replacing rigid keyword-based search models with adaptive, intelligent discovery experiences that prioritize search relevance. The goal involves transforming traditional library retrieval tools into contextual discovery platforms that effectively understand specific user intent and complex needs. The article develops a systematic and data intensive mapping of the field by the Latent Dirichlet Allocation topic modelling to 7,824 articles in the English language indexed in OpenAlex in the year 2000 to 2025. The focus of this study was to investigate the influence of digital competence on infopreneurship intention among Library and Information Science (LIS) students in federal polytechnics in South-West Nigeria, a context characterized by high graduate unemployment and rapid digital transformation. Guided by the Theory of Planned Behaviour and Eshet-Alkalai's Digital Literacy Model, a descriptive survey design was employed. The population comprised 638 final-year LIS students across four federal polytechnics, with a sample of 468 selected through multi-stage sampling. This exploratory study examines how small and rural academic libraries support students with disabilities. While grounded in a professional commitment to equitable service, these libraries often face challenges, such as limited staff, aging infrastructure, and stagnant funding. Survey results from 38 librarians reveal a strong dedication to accessibility, despite institutional constraints. Respondents identified barriers, such as insufficient training, inadequate resources, and minimal collaboration with campus disability offices. However, many also reported implementing personalized, student-centered services and cited the advantages of flexibility and close student relationships in small academic settings.
