In this thesis, we have investigated several permutation and monomialprogenitors for finite images. We have found original symmetric presen-tations for several important non-abelian simple groups, including lineargroups, unitary groups, alternating groups, and sporadic simple groups.We have found a number of finite images, including : L(2,41), PSL(2,11)×2, L(2,8), and L(2,19), as homomorphic images of the permutation progenitors. We have also found PGL(2,16) : 2 =Aut(PSL(2,16)) and PSL(2,16) as homomorphic images of monomial progenitors. We have performed manual double coset enumeration of finte images. In the present paper, we endow semi De Morgan logic and a family of its axiomatic extensions with proper multi-type display calculi which are sound, complete, conservative, and enjoy cut elimination and subformula property. Our proposal builds on an algebraic analysis of the variety of semi De Morgan algebras, and applies the guidelines of the multi-type methodology in the design of display calculi.

We develop some aspects of the theory of hyperholomorphic functions whose values are taken in a Banach algebra over a field—assumed to be the real or the complex numbers—and which contains the field. Notably, we consider Fueter expansions, Gleason’s problem, the theory of hyperholomorphic rational functions, modules of Fueter series, and related problems. Such a framework includes many familiar algebras as particular cases. The quaternions, the split quaternions, the Clifford algebras, the ternary algebra, and the Grassmann algebra are a few examples of them.

In this paper we apply Kadhe and Calderbank’s definition of LRCs from convex polyhedra and planar graphs [4] to analyze the codes resulting from 3-connected regular and almost regular planar graphs. The resulting edge codes are locally recoverable with availability two. We prove that the minimum distance of planar graph LRCs is equal to the girth of the graph, and we also establish a new bound on the rate of planar graph edge codes. Constructions of regular and almost regular planar graphs are given, and their associated code parameters are determined. In certain cases, the code families meet the rate …

This project is designed for a multicalculus class already familiar with computing the arc length of a parameterized curve in space. The activity asks the student to first recall basic facts about arc length, and then introduces the notion of measuring lengths of vectors differently, depending on where their initial point is. This is a foundational concept in metric differential geometry, and, this activity attempts to motivate this generalization of computing lengths of vectors through this arc length activity. Interpolation Jack polynomials are certain symmetric polynomials in N variables with coefficients that are rational functions in another parameter k, indexed by partitions of length at most N. Introduced first in 1996 by F. Knop and S. Sahi, and later studied extensively by Sahi, Knop-Sahi, and Okounkov-Olshanski, they have interesting connections to the representation theory of Lie algebras. Mac Lane’s Coherence Theorem is a subtle, foundational characterization of monoidal categories, a categorical concept which is now an important and popular tool in areas of pure mathematics and theoretical physics. Mac Lane’s original proof, while extremely clever, is written somewhat confusingly. Many years later, there still does not exist a fully complete and clearly written version of Mac Lane’s proof anywhere, which is unfortunate as Mac Lane’s proof provides very deep insight into the nature of monoidal categories. In this dissertation filtrations of ideals arising from hierarchical models in statistics related by a group action are are studied. These filtrations lead to ideals in polynomial rings in infinitely many variables, which require innovative tools. Regular languages and finite automata are used to prove and explicitly compute the rationality of some multivariate power series that record important quantitative information about the ideals. Some work regarding Markov bases for non-reducible models is shown, together with advances in the polyhedral geometry of binary hierarchical models.

This dissertation is devoted to the study of the geometric properties of subspace configurations, with an emphasis on configurations of points. One distinguishing feature is the widespread use of techniques from Matroid Theory and Combinatorial Optimization. In part we generalize a theorem of Edmond's about partitions of matroids in independent subsets. We then apply this to establish a conjectured bound on the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of a set of fat points.

But this is a restrictive case, because there are many more situations in science and in any domain of knowledge when a law of composition defined on a set may be only partially-defined (or partially true) and partially-undefined (or partially false), that we call NeutroDefined, or totally undefined (totally false) that we call AntiDefined. This paper introduces the novel concept of Neutro-BCK-algebra. In Neutro-BCK-algebra, the outcome of any given two elements under an underlying operation (neutro-sophication procedure) has three cases, such as: appurtenance, non-appurtenance, or indeterminate. While for an axiom: equal, non-equal, or indeterminate. This study investigates the Neutro-BCK-algebra and shows that Neutro-BCK-algebra are different from BCK-algebra. The notation of Neutro-BCK-algebra generates a new concept of NeutroPoset and Neutro-Hass-diagram for NeutroPosets. Finally, we consider an instance of applications of the Neutro-BCK-algebra.

We produce a long exact sequence whose terms are unit groups of associative algebras that behave as inner automorphisms of a given tensor. Our sequence generalizes known sequences for associative and non-associative algebras. In a manner similar to those, our sequence facilitates inductive reasoning about, and calculation of the groups of symmetries of a tensor. The new insights these methods afford can be applied to problems ranging from understanding algebraic structures to distinguishing entangled states in particle physics.

In this paper, as an extension of CI-algebras, we discuss the new notions of Neutro-CI-algebras and Anti-CI-algebras. First, some examples are given to show that these definitions are different. We prove that any proper CI-algebra is a Neutro-BE-algebra or Anti-BE-algebra. Also, we show that any NeutroSelf-distributive and AntiCommutative CI-algebras are not BE-algebras.

Neutrosophic theory has representatives on all continents and, therefore, it can be said to be a universal theory. On the other hand, according to the three volumes of “The Encyclopedia of Neutrosophic Researchers” (2016, 2018, 2019), plus numerous others not yet included in Encyclopedia book series, about 1200 researchers from 73 countries have applied both the neutrosophic theory and method. A gerrymandered political districting plan is used to benefit a group seeking to elect more of their own officials into office. This practice happens at the city, county and state level. A gerrymandered plan can be strategically designed based on partisanship, race, and other factors. Gerrymandering poses a contradiction to the idea of “one person, one vote” ruled by the United States Supreme Court case Reynolds v. Over the past several decades, technology has continued to develop at an incredible rate, and the importance of properly securing information has increased significantly. While a variety of encryption schemes currently exist for this purpose, a number of them rely on problems, such as integer factorization, that are not resistant to quantum algorithms. With the reality of quantum computers approaching, it is critical that a quantum-resistant method of protecting information is found.
