This paper presents a progressive series of age-appropriate lesson plans for grades K-12 that all use the same interdisciplinary activity to educate students about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) simultaneously. Technology from Texas Instruments (TI) was employed including a TI Nspire graphing calculator that can run Python programs, a TI Innovator Hub, and a TI Rover. The TI Rover is a small, robotic car that has sensors and is controlled by the calculator via the Hub hardware interface. A Python program was developed that uses the color sensor in the Rover to detect the color on colored paper …
A Categorical Framework For Modeling Genetic Drift, Taylor G. Mendes
A Categorical Framework For Modeling Genetic Drift, Taylor G. Mendes
Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Mathematics Journal
Genetic drift describes changes in allele frequencies that arise from chance sampling in finite populations. This paper develops a categorical framework for organizing the structural features of drift. Population states are modeled as objects, evolutionary transitions as morphisms, reversible transitions as groupoid morphisms, and structure-preserving comparisons between models as functors. Group actions are used to describe deterministic evolutionary operators such as mutation and selection, while orbits and fixed points identify reachable allele-frequency states and stable absorbing outcomes. Universal properties are then used to describe drift as a coherence condition connecting stochastic transitions with deterministic evolutionary maps. The resulting framework complements …

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this paper, we present a comprehensive study of the distributive law associated with two newly introduced operations addition and multiplication defined on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Matrices (IFMs). The proposed operations are systematically examined to investigate their algebraic properties, with particular emphasis on the behavior of the distributive law under these novel definitions. Furthermore, modal and extended modal operators are employed to establish several theoretical results that reinforce the mathematical foundation of the proposed framework. The validity and practical relevance of these results are further demonstrated through applications in decision-making scenarios, highlighting their effectiveness in addressing complex problems characterized by uncertainty.

(R2185) Operations On Bipolar Complex Neutrosophic Matrices And Its Application In Un’S Sdg-14 & Sdg-3 Using Python, N. Krishnapraveen, T. Muthuraji
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
Decision-making in sustainability oriented environments frequently involves bipolar evaluations, indeterminate information and phase dependent uncertainty that cannot be adequately represented by existing neutrosophic matrix models. To address this limitation, this study introduces a Bipolar Complex Neutrosophic Matrix (BCNM) framework that integrates bipolar semantics with complex valued uncertainty in a coherent algebraic structure. Fundamental operations and structural properties are rigorously established to ensure mathematical consistency. To facilitate practical multi criteria decision analysis (MCDA), novel score, accuracy, and hybrid aggregation operators are developed. The computational feasibility of the proposed approach is analyzed, demonstrating linear complexity with respect to the number of alternatives …

(R2187) Analysis Of Neurological Impairments In Hospitalized Patients Using Cubic Neutrosophic Sets, B. Anitha, M. Lavanya
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
This study introduces an MCDM-based framework for identifying neurological diseases in hospitalized patients using symptom-based evaluations. A team of interns, guided by the chief doctor, was responsible for determining each patient’s precise condition from the presented neurological symptoms. To enhance diagnostic accuracy, the interns employed the TOPSIS and WASPAS methods to assess and rank the potential disease options. The combined analysis yielded a clear identification of the highest ranked disease for every patient, highlighting the effectiveness of these MCDM techniques in supporting clinical decision making.

Undergraduate Research Journal
We study the relation subspace 𝑂◦𝑛 (𝑉) that appears in the definition o f the level-𝑛 Zhu algebra 𝐴𝑛 (𝑉) = 𝑉/𝑂𝑛 (𝑉), where 𝑂𝑛 (𝑉) = 𝑂𝐿 (𝑉) + 𝑂◦𝑛 (𝑉) and 𝑂𝐿 (𝑉) =(𝐿(−1) + 𝐿(0))𝑉. Using residue calculus, we introduce operators 𝑅𝑛,𝑘 that encode the circle products 𝑢◦𝑛 𝑣 and prove explicit change-of-generators formulas between the standard generators (𝑢−𝑚1)◦𝑛 𝑣 and the residue generators 𝑢 𝑅𝑛,0𝑣, together with a binomial inversion. These identities provide a practical framework for computing 𝑂◦𝑛 (𝑉), especially in strongly generated VOAs. As progress toward understanding the overlap 𝑂◦𝑛 (𝑉) ∩ 𝑂𝐿 (𝑉), …

This poster examines the physical 2x2x2x2, a hand-held realization of a 4-dimensional Rubik’s Cube invented by Melinda Green. Unlike most higher-dimensional twisty puzzles, which exist only as software simulations, this puzzle provides a physical model for exploring 4-dimensional rotation, symmetry, and solving methods. The poster introduces the structure of the puzzle, its canonical move system, and several algebraic ideas that help explain how scrambling and solving work.
From a mathematical perspective, the puzzle can be studied using group actions, commutators, conjugation, and combinatorial counting. In particular, the number of reachable states depends on corner permutations, corner orientations, parity restrictions, twist …

(R2127) On 2-Absorbing Hesitant Primary Fuzzy Ideals Of Rings, B. Anitha, M. Vidhya
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
By presenting 2-absorbing hesitant primary fuzzy ideals, we begin the investigation of a generalisation of hesitant primary fuzzy ideals (HPRFI) in rings in this research. The concepts of a weakly completely 2-absorbing hesitant primary fuzzy ideal (WC2-AHPRFI) and a Weakly completely 2-absorbing hesitant fuzzy ideal (WC2-AHFI) are developed, and their structural features and attributes are examined. We introduce the idea of a 2-absorbing hesitant K-fuzzy ideal (2-AHK-FI), 2-absorbing hesitant K-primary fuzzy ideal (2-AHK-PRFI) and examine a few of its characteristics.

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
Bisymmetric matrices have wide range of applications in statistics, engineering problems, information theory and computer science including coding theory and cryptography. In cryptography, a rhotrix being a couple matrix doubles the security of the cryptosystem. Here, we construct maximum distance separable (MDS) bisymmetric rhotrices using self-dual bases and conjugate elements of finite fields. MDS rhotrices are very crucial for the designing of block ciphers and hash functions in cryptography.

One of the simplest classes of finite groups used as a source of counterexamples in a first course of modern algebra is the class of finite dihedral groups. Among the subgroups of dihedral group, finding subgroups of index 2 is of interest in part because these subgroups are normal subgroups. In this article, we use the representations of the symmetries of the dihedral groups as permutations of the vertices and determine concretely all its subgroups of index 2. Under this representation or embedding, the article determines the intersection of the dihedral group with the corresponding alternating groups when they are …

The purpose of this paper is to investigate characterizations of weakly pseudo semi-2-absorbing submodules in terms of some types of modules. We provide characterizations for the class of multiplication modules with the help of some types of modules such as faithful, non-singular, Z-regular, and projective modules. Furthermore, we add some conditions to proof the residual of a weakly pseudo semi-2-absorbing submodule is a weakly pseudo semi-2-absorbing ideal.

Finite Posets As Prime Spectra Of Commutative Noetherian Rings, David T. Alkass
Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Mathematics Journal
We study finite partially ordered sets of prime ideals as found in commutative Noetherian rings. In doing so, we establish that these posets have a bipartite structure and devise a construction for finding ring spectra that are order-isomorphic to many such posets. Specifically, we prove that any finite complete bipartite graph is order-isomorphic to the spectrum of a ring of essentially finite type over the field of rational numbers. Furthermore, we prove that prime spectra of such rings can also depict any finite path or even cycle.

Proportion Of P-Adic Polynomials Which Are Irreducible, Isaac Rajagopal
Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Mathematics Journal
We attempt to quantify the exact proportion of p-adic polynomials of degree n which are irreducible. We find an exact answer to this when n is prime and p != n, and also when n = 4 and p != 2. Our answers are rational functions in p. This relates to previous work done to find exact proportions of p-adic polynomials of degree n which have k roots.

Counting The Classes Of Projectively-Equivalent Pentagons On Finite Projective Planes Of Prime Order, Maxwell Hosler
Rose-Hulman Undergraduate Mathematics Journal
In this paper, we examine the number of equivalence classes of pentagons on finite projective planes of prime order under projective transformations. We are interested in those pentagons in general position, meaning that no three vertices are collinear. We consider those planes which can be constructed from finite fields of prime order, and use algebraic techniques to characterize them by their symmetries. We are able to construct a unique representative for each pentagon class with nontrivial symmetries. We can then leverage this fact to count classes of pentagons in general. We discover that there are (1/10)((p+3)(p-3)+4 …

Bipolar intuitionistic fuzzy sets are currently a robust area in several industries. Additionally, bipolar intuitionistic fuzzy matrices are a highly regarded topic in many fields including psychology, engineering, qualitative reasoning and multi-criteria decision making. A civilization must deal with negative and positive problems. In this article, we discussed some algebraic properties of modal operators on bipolar intuitionistic fuzzy matrices. Finally, we derive some results of necessity and possibility operators along with Max-Min product.

Structure Of A Class Of Ordinary Differential Equations, Letao Chang
SACAD: Scholarly Activities
In the realm of mathematics, an ordinary differential equation (ODE) denotes a particular type of differential equation contingent solely upon a single independent variable. Similar to other differential equations, an ODE involves one or more functions as its unknowns and encompasses derivatives of these functions. The designation "ordinary" serves to distinguish these equations from partial differential equations, which may pertain to multiple independent variables.

Construction Of Normal Polynomials Using Composition Of Polynomials Over Finite Fields Of Odd Characteristic, Shalini Gupta, Manpreet Singh, Rozy Sharma
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
A monic irreducible polynomial is known as a normal polynomial if its roots are linearly independent over Galois field. Normal polynomials over finite fields and their significance have been studied quite well. Normal polynomials have applications in different fields such as computer science, number theory, finite geometry, cryptography and coding theory. Several authors have given different algorithms for the construction of normal polynomials. In the present paper, we discuss the construction of the normal polynomials over finite fields of prime characteristic by using the method of composition of polynomials.

An R-semimodule A is called a Rad-⊕-supplemented semimodule, if each subsemimodule of A has a Rad-supplement which is a direct summand of A. Here, we investigate some properties of these semimodules and generalize some results on Rad-⊕-supplemented modules to semimodules. We prove that any finite direct sum of Rad-⊕-supplemented semimodules is Rad-⊕-supplemented. Also, we prove that if A is a subtractive semimodule with (D3) then A is Rad-⊕-supplemented if and only if every direct summand to A is …

The Gamma-Signless Laplacian Adjacency Matrix Of Mixed Graphs, Omar Alomari, Mohammad Abudayah, Manal Ghanem
Theory & Applications of Graphs
The α-Hermitian adjacency matrix Hα of a mixed graph X has been recently introduced. It is a generalization of the adjacency matrix of unoriented graphs. In this paper, we consider a special case of the complex number α. This enables us to define an incidence matrix of mixed graphs. Consequently, we define a generalization of line graphs as well as a generalization of the signless Laplacian adjacency matrix of graphs. We then study the spectral properties of the gamma-signless Laplacian adjacency matrix of a mixed graph. Lastly, we characterize when the signless Laplacian adjacency matrix of …
