This collection is composed “Cavalry Drill Regulations, United States Army” in 1911, and pilot’s log book. The log book was owned by Howard E. Emmons and contains approximately twenty pages of materials spanning from July to December of 1918, beginning in the U.S. School of Military Aeronautics at the Ohio State University and including flight activities at Carruthers Field in Fort Worth, Texas. The regulations book was owned by -Delos?- -C.?- Emmons. Also included in the collection is a 1919 letter from the Air Service Flying School certifying that Howard Emmons has 253 hours and 20 minutes of flying time …

This study describes and analyzes military and FAA liaison efforts which impact on the management of the National Aviation System. It begins with the historical development of the National Airspace System (NAS), The system is evolutionary in nature and most innovations have come from user demands and outside sources, Long term government responsibility to manage the system has been secondary to the operation and maintenance functions, There has been duplication of effort due to poor coordination on developing common goals, The military has been the leader in developing technology that led to improvement of the system.

This article describes the components that make up the Tactical Air Command flight crew, from loadmaster, to flight engineer, to navigator, to copilot, and lastly, to pilot. All together, the crew work in coordination to deliver the goods or the troops. This article was Dr. Brady's last as editor of TAC Attack. Under his two-year leadership, the safety message continued to be heard.

Some history of the military air base, Pyote (Texas), and its mission after World War II to store and preserve surplus military aircraft. Two famous airplanes were stored there: the Enola Gay, the B-29 used to drop the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, and the Swoose, the sole surviving B-17D from the Pacific theater during World War II. Both aircraft are now housed at the Smithsonian.

This article discusses the possibilities to extend battlefield support using aircraft equipped with air cushion landing systems (ACLS). The ACLS are less costly than traditional landing systems but provide some new flying skills, like how to move the aircraft after the air cushion has been deflated.
