Do Universities Choose The Right Strategies For X Engagement? The Case Of Six Universities In Thailand, Mathupayas Thongmak
Higher Learning Research Communications
Objective: The purpose of this study is to understand how Thai public universities engage their stakeholders on X (the social media platform previously known as Twitter). This article answers the following research questions: 1) What are the X message strategies of six public universities? 2) Do they choose the most effective strategies to drive X engagement in terms of favorites and reposts?
Method: Data was automatically collected using anX analytic tool, and the potential variables were extracted semi-automatically using tools appropriate to text mining, sentiment analysis, word cloud, and so on. Posts from six universities in Thailand were investigated.

Evolving Connections: Exploring A Non-Traditional Relationship Label Through Thematic Analysis, Nevaeh P. Copenhaver, Whitney Whitaker
SACAD: Scholarly Activities
Introduction: Every generation makes its mark on society as it comes of age—introducing novel terminology, challenging preexisting norms, and shifting cultural paradigms. Due to social media’s far-reaching influence, this process has been expedited. Some neologisms such as “just talking” and “situationship” have become widely recognized; despite their prominence, concrete definitions have not yet been established.
Purpose: The present study aimed to provide insights into how the current generation of emerging adults views and manages relationships with non-traditional labels.
Methods: Via an online survey, participants (N=221; mean age=26.47) described newer, non-traditional relationships labeled “just talking.” The researchers conducted a multi-phase qualitative …

State Of The Grid: Cybersecurity Best Practices For The Utility Industry, Corban Garcia
SACAD: Scholarly Activities
Developing a strong cybersecurity posture is essential for protecting critical infrastructure, especially in the utility industry. This study analyzes a multi-layered cybersecurity approach that integrates risk management, technology, governance, and workforce training. Based on an examination of industry literature, six key steps were identified. These include assessing security posture, developing policies, implementing security controls, employee training, incident response planning, and regular audits. Each step plays a vital role in mitigating cyber threats and ensuring operational resilience. A comparative analysis of cybersecurity frameworks and real-world incidents highlights the necessity of proactive security strategies. Without these foundational steps, organizations face greater risks …

Loans In The Long Game: How Student Debt Affects Financial Stress Post-Graduation, Thomas S. Zimmerman, Faye R. Jones, Avery M. D. Davis, Carley Dear
Journal of Student Financial Aid
This study employs data from the National Center for Education Statistics’ (NCES) Baccalaureate and Beyond Surveys to compare financial well-being among college graduates with varying social characteristics and levels of student debt. We use logistic regression to answer three questions: 1) To what extent does the amount of debt at graduation affect students' financial stress that they will be able to meet their fiscal obligations following graduation; 2) To what degree does this affect students from marginalized backgrounds; and 3) What are the postgraduate financial experiences of students who graduate from Hispanic Serving Institutions, Primarily Black Institutions, or Historically Black …

Uncovering Dimensions Of Learning Management System Event Logs: Insights From Exploratory Factor Analysis, Psychometric Network Analysis, And Consensus Hierarchical Clustering, Surina He, Okan Bulut, Ying Cui, Tarid Wongvorachan
Chinese/English Journal of Educational Measurement and Evaluation | 教育测量与评估双语期刊
Log data extracted from learning management systems (LMS) have become an increasingly valuable resource for understanding students’ learning behaviors. These data are unobtrusive, cost-effective, and offer fine-grained insights. However, their complexity and large volume present substantial challenges in identifying interpretable underlying dimensions across different event types. To address this challenge, this study applied exploratory factor analysis, psychometric network analysis, and consensus hierarchical clustering to analyze 122,167 log entries from 25 event types collected in a large undergraduate course (n = 527 students). Four distinct clusters of student activities were identified in the event logs: submission, quiz-taking, discussion, and background-viewing. …

Online/Hybrid School Psychology Student Perceptions Of Distance Program Modalities, Allyson Baloga, Kelsie Arch, Amy Drinnon, Angie Howard
SACAD: Scholarly Activities
NASP (2021) provides recommendations for distance education (DE) in school psychology, however, this guidance lacks input from students with lived experiences. To address this gap, a survey was completed by 106 current and recently graduated online/hybrid graduate students in school psychology. Descriptive statistics, qualitative trends, and comparative analyses were utilized to examine responses. Findings illuminate student perceptions of preparedness and highlight the need for, and impact of, the flexibility and convenience afforded by DE.

Relationship Between Perceived Employability And Employability Skills And Attributes Among Business Graduates, Wise Mainga, Marlo B. Murphy-Braynen, Daniel Thompson, Bernadette Robins
Relationship Between Perceived Employability And Employability Skills And Attributes Among Business Graduates, Wise Mainga, Marlo B. Murphy-Braynen, Daniel Thompson, Bernadette Robins
International Journal for Business Education
Research has identified the importance of perceived employability in enhancing new graduates’ job search and finding initial employment. Students with high perceived employability are likely to have high self-confidence and perseverance in their job search, which may lead to early initial employment post-graduation. Perceived employability affects how new graduating students approach competitive and congested labour markets and is seen as one of the most important predictors of a new graduate getting and retaining a job. However, few studies have examined the relationship between perceived employability and disaggregated employability skills and attributes. This study examines the above relationship, arguing that not …

Reimagining Career Services' Role In International Students' Higher-Education-To-U.S.-Work Transition, Evan W. Faidley
Reimagining Career Services' Role In International Students' Higher-Education-To-U.S.-Work Transition, Evan W. Faidley
New York Journal of Student Affairs
International students’ job search experience encompasses cultural and learning experiences from home and host country living. The higher education-to-work transition of international students to meet their career goal in working in the United States requires attention of both international students and higher education administrators. This literature review explores the intersection of the international student experience, their career development, and the advising/support received by career services professionals. A clearer understanding of international students through a six-dimension binary cultural lens (Hofstede, 2011) affords professionals the knowledge and work with students’ existing understanding of home and host cultural norms and job seeking.
