The Transition Of Mathematics Learners From 9th To 10th Grade While Acquiring 21st-Century Skills, Ahmad J. Alhilal Dr.

International Journal for Research in Education

This study aimed to examine the transition of mathematics learners from the 9th grade (intermediate) to the 10th grade (secondary) in terms of incorporating 21st-century skills in mathematics textbooks. The researcher used a descriptive analytical method and content analysis cards to assess the study unit questions in both 9th and 10th-grade textbooks for the 2023-2024 academic year. The analysis focused on critical thinking and creativity skills, using 24 indicators.

Results for the 9th-grade textbooks showed low inclusion of inductive (10.30%) and deductive reasoning (17.86%) skills, with a moderate inclusion of analysis skills (65.97%). Innovation and creativity skills, such as originality, …

The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a teaching strategy based on Siekman's investigative model in developing achievement, geometric thinking, and the persistence of the learning effect, for second-year intermediate students, in the [Measurement: Area and Volume] class. The study was conducted in the third semester (1444AH), at Al-Bukhari Middle School, in Arar City, Saudi Arabia. Facilitating Trauma Informed Practices In Intermediate Algebra, Ruthmae Sears, Kelley Cummings, Sandra Vernon-Jackson, Keisha Albritton, Alfredo Rodriguez-Vera, Chuqian Song

As a programmatic evaluation effort, we examined the extent to which Intermediate Algebra instructors promoted trauma-informed practices. Data were garnered from 230 students enrolled in Intermediate Algebra in Fall 2024 via a Trauma Informed Practices Survey and a survey about the impact of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. The quantitative data was analyzed using frequencies, and the qualitative data were analyzed using open coding and thematic analysis. The results suggest that students generally perceive their instructors exhibited trauma-informed care. The results have implications for providing adequate support and resources to ensure all students learn mathematics.

The purpose of this multiple baseline study was to measure the reliability of teachers’ reflective practices and the impact of structured video self-reflection on observable teaching practices and teacher self-efficacy. Additionally, this study explored the implications of teacher self-efficacy, and the stages of change model when working with teachers who have determined a change of behavior is necessary. Designed to satisfy the tenets of andragogy, this study presented structured video self-reflection as a teacher directed, practical, cost-effective form of professional development. Teaching Social Studies in the Peach State

These classroom-based activities focus on Jimmy Carter, the Heritage Trust Act, and Ossabaw Island. We developed two short classroom experiences based on Georgia social studies standards with supporting English language arts standards: one classroom experience for second grade and the other for eighth grade. Teachers can adapt content and sequence for their grade levels, schedules, and other school-specific factors. Students will explore the history, culture, and geography of Ossabaw Island, Georgia’s third-largest barrier island. Classroom experiences include different sources, photo analysis, and a range of learning activities with modifications; figures and appendices are included.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly influencing instructional practices in K–12 education, yet most states have not issued clear, binding policies to guide its integration. As a result, local school systems and support staff must interpret emerging guidance and determine how AI should be used in classrooms. This study examined how system-level technology coaches in the Deep South experience and support AI adoption in contexts where state guidance is advisory rather than mandatory. The purpose of this study is to develop and test a character education module that integrates local wisdom values in Blitar with interactive technology through a deep learning approach. The method used is the ADDIE model research and development. The module's feasibility is obtained from the results of expert validation, assessment of attractiveness and practicality from users. The results obtained from language experts were 88.70%, material experts were 92.00%, and design experts were 85%.
