This paper presents a precedent oriented computer assisted method of designing, analyzing and evaluating systems of internal controls. The ..!..nternal Control _!iodel, TICOM III, is fundamentally a design and analysis tool useful in the context of Automated Office Information Systems (AOIS's). Traditional analysis and evaluation tools, such as flowcharting, written narratives and questionnaires, are inefficient, if not insufficient, to support the design and control analysis of these new systems. The advantages of TICOM III over traditional methods such as narrative description, questionnaires and flowcharts are: (1) the evaluation can be more rigorous and exhaustive because of the speed, accuracy and …

An Examination Of The Psychometric Properties Of Some Commonly Researched Individual Differences, Job, And Organizational Variables In Two Cultures, Harry J. Martin, Uma Sekaran
Management And Labor Relations
This study examines the transferability and applicability of selected measures of individual differences, job, and organizational climate factors across two cultures. Questionnaires were administered to a sample of 267 white-collar bank employees in the U.S. and 307 bank employees in India. The individual difference dimensions examined were four manifest needs, sense of competence, and locus of control. The job factors included variety, autonomy, identity, and feedback. The organizational climate factors related to communication, stress, participation in decision making, and self-esteem from the workplace. The data were analyzed for internal consistency, dimensionality, and criterion-related validity. The results showed that the job …

Thermal Rearrangement of 2-3.2.0] hepta-3,6-Diene-6,7-Dicarbonitrile8 1–3 to their 4,5-Dicarbonitrile Isomers 4–6 Takes Place at 110–140 °C in Yields of 82–84%. the Reactions Are First Order with Rates Almost Independent of the Polarity of the Solvent. Activation Parameters (ΔH‡ = 120–140 KJ Mol−1 and ΔS‡ ≈ 0 J K−1 Mol−1) Are in Agreement with a Concerted Symmetry-Allowed Antarafacial-Antarafacial Cope Rearrangement. Compounds 1–3 Rearrange Photochemically Via Cleavage of the C-1-S Bond to the 1,7-Dicarbonitrile Isomers 7–9. The Effects Of Quality Of Work Life Processes On Job Satisfaction And Productivity, Greg Alan Dabicci
The Effects Of Quality Of Work Life Processes On Job Satisfaction And Productivity, Greg Alan Dabicci
Masters Theses
This study was conducted to determine the effects of employee participation on job satisfaction and productivity. A small group of hourly employees (5-7) from a package sort and load operation worked with management to identify, analyze, and solve performance problems. Four employee participation interventions were examined: 1) group problem solving of sorting performance, 2) individualized problem solving of loading performance, 3) general participation on job satisfaction, and 4) general participation on overall productivity. The results indicated that the participation program was effective in improving job satisfaction, group performance, and individual performance. The program was not effective in improving overall productivity. …

Designing A Budgeting System With Planned Confusion, John Joseph Williams
Designing A Budgeting System With Planned Confusion, John Joseph Williams
Research Collection School Of Accountancy
The article explores the potential virtues of dual budgeting processes coexisting within a single budgeting information system for organizations experiencing changing environments. The treatment of discretionary cost activity in the traditional budgeting process is discussed and a comparison of the effectiveness of the techniques of zero-based budgeting and traditional budgeting is presented. Using both approaches simultaneously is said to hold potential for combining the best of both methods, but the cost-effectiveness of such a dual budgeting process is noted as a limiting factor.

This paper analyzes the role of information in social casework practice. Three models of computer-based information processing are discussed: Cybernetic, Management Information Systems and Natural Language Processing. The latter is most consistent with social casework information needs because of its potential to focus on the problems of the meaning of social action.

Farm Management Information - Comparative Costs And Return Whole Farm Budgets, Machinery Costs, Gross Margins, A. F. Herbert
Farm Systems and Economics published reports
The cropping costs, gross margins, and whole farm budgets contained in this booklet are published to assist you in your selection of enterprises on the farm, and to give background information for prospective farm purchasers in the Esperance/Dundas area.
The worked examples have attempted to approximate reality. However, individuals do things differently and it is pointless to generalize. The information presented should only be used as a guide. You need to prepare your own budgets for your own situation using your own assumptions and up-to-date costs and prices.

Computer Graphics As An Aid To Teaching Geometric Transformations, Sister Joseph K. Mcadams, Arlan R. Dekock
Computer Graphics As An Aid To Teaching Geometric Transformations, Sister Joseph K. Mcadams, Arlan R. Dekock
Business and Information Technology Faculty Research & Creative Works
During the past several years, there has been much discussion and controversy over what should be taught in high school mathematics, in general, and in high school geometry, in particular. Numerous mathematicians have encouraged the teaching of transformations as part of the standard high school mathematics curriculum[1-4,6-9]. The results of a recent survey of high school teachers of mathematics indicate that 19% have taught geometric transformations, 26% feel adequately prepared to teach such a topic, and 50% would like to teach the topic if materials were available for the average college prep student[5].
