This dissertation examines the articulation of feminist expression in contemporary Chinese women’s oil painting and its positioning and valuation within the art market. A focus is placed on Yu Hong and Hung Liu, analysing the interaction of gender, race, and censorship within both domestic and global frameworks. The study employs Grounded Theory to integrate qualitative and quantitative evidence from literature, exhibitions, market reports, rankings, and auction data, aiming to develop a theory from under-explored material instead of applying Western feminist beliefs.

Through qualitative interviews, this research reveals how the pandemic catalyzed critical introspection, prompting artists to reevaluate their identities and creative practices. Despite systemic barriers to visibility and recognition, women artists exhibited resilience and adaptability, leveraging digital platforms to foster community engagement and expand their reach. “Till Death Does Us Part,” is a ceramic work created by Milo Rippe in the fall of 2025. The installation includes fifteen faceless figures, ten organ-inspired plates, and one big central figure. Also featured are three homemade stains and two homemade glazes. The figures are hand-built from slabs, combined to form a single piece. The plates were also cut from slabs, and then hand-rolled rims were added to each shape with slip. Stains and glazes are made by methodically measuring out each ingredient on a triple-beam scale, combining all ingredients with water, and running the mixture through a strainer to …

This research discusses undergraduate voice students' understanding of vocalizes and their purpose. To discuss this subject, a vocalize has been defined along with its purpose analyzed. By discovering what methods voice teachers are using to prescribe vocalizes tells us how they are educating their singers on developing technical singing skills. This research was collected through a survey conducted in Qualtrics and was shared via social media voice teacher forums and collegiate music settings. This 5-10 minute long survey included participants that are either undergraduate voice students or undergraduate voice teachers. This study examines the use of early medieval structure and language in the poetry of Seamus Heaney and Geoffrey Hill, focusing on their near-contemporary collections, North and Mercian Hymns. Both collections use etymological and poetic structures to fashion an imagined medieval past in order to discuss personal and cultural narratives of history. Leveraging these structures in poetry and digging them out of past strata like a material artifact, Heaney and Hill collapse linear systems of time and language and access past word forms even as they evolve. Comparative research on law and legal institutions depends on high-quality data infrastructure. This article introduces the Australian High Court Database—a new resource that encodes structured information on all full judgments of the High Court of Australia between 1995 and 2020, and all leave applications (Australia’s equivalent to petitions for certiorari) from 2003 to 2018. The database is built in accordance with core principles that support comparative research: it is adaptable, and comparable. By attending to jurisdictional specificity while adhering to general standards, the database supports both within-country analysis and cross-national comparison. As social media continues to reshape modern public relations practice, beverage brands like Alani Nu and Poppi offer relevant examples of influencer-driven communication and crisis response. This honors thesis compares and contrasts these brands following two major crises: Poppi’s influencer vending machine campaign and the health concerns and backlash surrounding Alani Nu’s energy drinks. Despite the well-known prevalence of these brands, there is little scholarly research examining their crisis communication strategies. You Can't Kill the Beat: Cult Musicals

This paper examines how certain musicals achieve lasting popularity despite initial failure, in the eyes of critics, by developing cult followings. Drawing on theories of camp aesthetics and fandom, this paper explores how exaggerated, unconventional, and "campy" elements, often rejected by critics, become the qualities that attract niche audiences. Using examples of certain musicals, such as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Ride the Cyclone, Heathers, and Carrie, I argue that cult musicals survive and thrive because audiences actively participate in sustaining them. My chosen artifact is a live performance of Silver Springs by Fleetwood Mac. The performance originally took place at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, in May 1997, and the video was later published to Fleetwood Mac’s official YouTube account in September 2018.

My chosen critical lens is visual criticism, specifically analyzing visual escalation as a rhetorical strategy. This approach is appropriate because the emotional intensity of the performance extends beyond the lyrics, adding another persuasive layer through the deliberate use of camera angles and the physical actions of both Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham.

This paper examines migration as a central theological and social reality, drawing on biblical narratives, Christian ethics, and contemporary experiences. It argues that migration, present from the history of Israel to the present, has shaped communities and continues to challenge the Church to respond faithfully. Grounded in Lovin’s concept of integrity and the theology of the Incarnation, the study contends that the Church is called to embody a distinctive witness through hospitality, justice, and dignity toward migrants. The rise of generative AI has many teachers worried about the future of writing classes and students’ desire to learn. However, instructors can motivate students to write by valuing what AI can never replace: their voices. Previous definitions of voice took the concept for granted and left it either vague or reductive, unhelpful for structured lessons. I propose a new, more teachable definition of voice as perspective, personality, and style. Perspective takes priority because it belongs solely to the individual and the unrepeatable moment of composition. Personality infuses passages with emotion, forming a bond between author and reader. This Doctor of Ministry project examines the relationship between a proactive prayer life and pastoral burnout among senior pastors in Converge North Central churches. Addressing the increasing prevalence of burnout in vocational ministry, the study reframes burnout as a fundamentally theological issue rather than merely a psychological or organizational problem. On August 10, 1942, American private, Travis B. Hammond, was on trial for accusations of rape against a 16-year-old British girl, Maureen Thomson. This would mark the first American court martial case tried on British soil. This trial was preceded by the issuing of the United States (Visiting Forces) Act of 1942 (VFA) on August 6, 1942, which granted the United States military exclusive jurisdiction over their soldiers. “Crafting the ‘Greatest Classics’ of Girlhood: Advice Columns, Diaries, and the Emotional Lives of American Teenage Girls, 1918-1939” explores how American teenage girls who came of age between 1918 and 1939 used writing as a form of expression. As a response to the heightened anxieties—the “storm and the stress”—that was caused by the social structure of the era, teenage girls used writing in advice column letters and diaries as a form of self-fashioning, self-reflection, and self-therapy to discuss courtship, dating, and romantic relationships. Pastoral transitions represent spiritually significant yet often under-supported moments in the life of clergy, congregations, and ministry networks. While leadership change is frequently framed in theological language emphasizing divine calling and institutional continuity, insufficient attention is given to the emotional, relational, and familial dimensions of these transitions. This Doctor of Ministry project examines the spiritual and emotional impact of pastoral transitions within African American church contexts, with particular attention to clergy wellbeing and systems of care.
