Upcycle Of Used Jute Sacks For Production Of Shoes And Bags As Fashion Accessories, Solomon Gausa Dr., Ruth Adumna Ahmed, Muhammad Sani Yahaya Dr., Dymphna Bakker-Edoh Dr
Jurnal Sosial Humaniora Terapan
The study aims to upcycle used jute sacks into fashion accessories for sub-Saharan Africa, particularly Nigeria. The approach employs innovative design techniques and manufacturing processes that improve both the aesthetic appeal and environmental impact of jute products. To achieve the study's objectives, a design and development research approach was used to support an iterative process. A structured interview guide collected data from fifteen respondents. The study used thematic analysis by coding both open and axial codes, which were selected and grouped according to the objective to reach the final results before interpreting and translating the findings into a developed design …

Journal of Queer and Trans Studies in Education
Strong evidence links Gender and Sexuality Alliances (GSAs) to improved outcomes for LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer and questioning and other identities) students. Chicago Public Schools’ (CPS) is known for being a leader in supporting LGBTQ+ students. Despite this, CPS’ size has made it difficult to support all schools in adopting recommended practices. Therefore, in 2020 CPS launched the GSA Leadership Committee (GSALC), which comprises teachers and other school-based staff leaders throughout the district, to support all schools in adopting practices known to support LGBTQ+ students. This paper draws on four years of interviews with group facilitators and focus groups …
Exploring The Role Of Occupational Therapy In The Delivery Of Trauma-Informed Services To Hospital-Based Clients Ot, Frank Czuba
Exploring The Role Of Occupational Therapy In The Delivery Of Trauma-Informed Services To Hospital-Based Clients Ot, Frank Czuba
Journal of Applied Disciplines
Hospitalization can traumatize clients and impact overall health outcomes, leading to increased hospital readmission rates and resulting in a negative impact for both clients and providers. Limited information exists regarding how hospital-based occupational therapists evaluate and address trauma, even though incorporating trauma-informed principles into professional practice can enhance the occupational therapy process. The study explored the comprehension and perceived significance of trauma-informed tenets among occupational therapists delivering services in hospital-based settings. A quantitative research study with an exploratory design was implemented to explore how occupational therapists (OT) understand and utilize trauma-informed practices with their clients in a hospital setting. An …
Making Sense: Envy In Libanius' Declamation 30, Andrew Scholtz
Making Sense: Envy In Libanius' Declamation 30, Andrew Scholtz
Middle Eastern and Ancient Mediterranean Studies (MEAMS) Faculty Scholarship
Declamation, a genre famous for its sometimes extravagant fictions, has lately been approached as a vehicle for declaimers to reflect on realities familiar to them and their audiences. Reading Libanius' rarely discussed Declamation 30 in just such a self-reflective key, I argue that it explores the mindset of the phthoneros, the "envious man," as a way to make sense of risks posed by unscrupulous rivals. To shed light on this sense-making, I analyze High- and Late-Imperial emotion scripts foregrounding envy’s power to catalyze the formation of dysfunctional networks within and around competitive situations.
An Introduction To Oral Traditions And Poetry Of The Baloches, Emran Dorrazehi
An Introduction To Oral Traditions And Poetry Of The Baloches, Emran Dorrazehi
English Dissertations - Archive
There is not much known about the history and literature of the Baloches besides the translation and transliteration of Mansel Longworth Dames. Dames while serving as an official in the region wrote a book, Popular Poetry of the Baloches (1907) in two volumes. Dames translated a series of oral poetry of his subjects. This dissertation utilized 13 poems from Dames’ transliterations and employed a compensatory, creative and restorative translation to recreate their earlier states. It is the assertion of this dissertation that the poems given to Dames by minstrels were already heavily censored to reflect Islamic, Mongol and Mughal identities. …
Enjoying The Golden Screen Of Asian American Representation In A Colorblind Era: Neoliberalism, Narrative, And Negotiation, Jered Mabaquiao
Enjoying The Golden Screen Of Asian American Representation In A Colorblind Era: Neoliberalism, Narrative, And Negotiation, Jered Mabaquiao
English Dissertations - Archive
This dissertation contributes to Asian American studies, Cinema and Media Studies, and Critical Theory by interrogating how contemporary Asian American representation is shaped by the intertwined pressures of racial politics, neoliberal market demands, and psychic life. Working across race studies, media studies, psychoanalysis, and phenomenological questions of ontology and being, the project argues that Asian American film and television cannot only be understood through the language of popular culture representation, narrative progress, media visibility, or political inclusion. Instead, I combine such angles to examine how popular culture media participates in the contradictory production of Asian American subjectivity as culturally present …

Main Areas Of International Activity Of Ukrainian Christian Churches, Yuliia Kondratiuk, Olha Hordiichuk, Iryna Vitiuk, Oleh Sokolovskyi
Occasional Papers on Religion in Eastern Europe
The article analyzes the international activities of the main Christian denominations in Ukraine (the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, and Protestant denominations) in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which has been ongoing since 2014 and became full-scale in 2022. The war has radically changed the priorities of all denominations: from classical ecumenism and missionary work to mass humanitarian aid, the protection of religious freedom, and countering Russia's use of religion as an instrument of aggression. Despite repression, the destruction of more than 630 religious buildings, and the deaths of dozens of clergy, Ukrainian churches have …

¿El Futuro Es Latino En La Iglesia Metodista Unida De Arkansas? Un Análisis Pastoral-Teológico Desde La Práctica, Lupita Chavarria-Garcia
¿El Futuro Es Latino En La Iglesia Metodista Unida De Arkansas? Un Análisis Pastoral-Teológico Desde La Práctica, Lupita Chavarria-Garcia
Apuntes: Reflexiones teológicas desde el margen hispano
This article offers a pastoral-theological analysis of the near absence of intentional ministry with the growing Latino community within the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Drawing on demographic data, denominational documents and the author’s 23 years of experience in Arkansas—first as a Roman Catholic layperson and now as the only Latina United Methodist pastor in the state—the essay situates Latino families’ profound spiritual hunger within a context marked by economic, spiritual and sexual abuse in some independent and evangelical churches. It contrasts this vulnerability with the structural responses of the Catholic Church in Arkansas (such as Spanish-language liturgies …

Construyendo Comunidades Inclusivas: Estrategias Para Fomentar La Unidad En Iglesias Progresistas Diversas, Andi C. Villar Arroyo
Apuntes: Reflexiones teológicas desde el margen hispano
This article explores the challenges and opportunities faced by progressive churches in balancing their cultural identity with inclusive principles. It argues that inclusive language, intercultural communication, and diverse leadership are key strategies for fostering cohesive and equitable faith communities. Drawing from biblical teachings and Wesleyan theology, the article emphasizes that embracing diversity strengthens the church’s mission of unity, justice, and spiritual growth. By implementing these practices, congregations can create a welcoming environment where all members feel valued, respected, and actively engaged in the life of the church.
Laila: A Doll Memoir Of 1947 Partition Of India And Pakistan, Maleeha Malik, Maleeha Fatima Malik
Laila: A Doll Memoir Of 1947 Partition Of India And Pakistan, Maleeha Malik, Maleeha Fatima Malik
Children's Literature (MFA) Theses
This abstract examines a creative and critical work centered on the 1947 Partition of India, which displaced approximately fourteen million people and caused one million deaths. The narrative introduces Laila, an anthropomorphized doll who functions as both witness and archive, embodying the memories and traumas of multiple child survivors. Through Laila’s journey across India, Pakistan, and the diaspora, the text explores themes of identity, belonging, loss, and intergenerational memory.
Blending personal family history with historical analysis, the author situates Laila within lived experiences of migration, silence, and religious marginalization, particularly as part of the Ahmadi Muslim community. The narrative foregrounds …
