The Translation Of The Oriental Tale: The Translator Has A Decisive Cultural Role, Khalid Hammoumi
The Translation Of The Oriental Tale: The Translator Has A Decisive Cultural Role, Khalid Hammoumi
Faits de Langue et Société (FLS)
The reformulation of the original Arabic text by the 18th and 19th century French translator testifies to this translator’s commitments to the Arabic original as well as to his future French-speaking audience. It is indeed a text determined by a number of constituent elements, whether in form, style or substance, ideas which naturally follow the culture and the environment. To illustrate these ideas, we treat the case of the translation of Thousand and One Nights. Antoine Galland, the orientalist scholar and the first French translator of these oriental tales. The Thousand and One Nights, Arabic tales from oral and written …

The Role Of Diasporic Sites In The Reappropriation And Dissemination Of Judeo-Moroccan Culture, Hind El Baz
Faits de Langue et Société (FLS)
Jews existed in Morocco before Islam, and even before Christianity, which gave way to it. The long cohabitation between Jews and Muslims gave rise to cultural practices that often had nothing specifically Jewish or Muslim; they therefore constituted a privileged meeting place between the two populations. Although the said Jewishness is nowadays very much reduced to the point of being doomed to disappear, two millennia of history still remain a memory; its echo still resounds in the uprooted souls of emigrants. It resounds in their music and song, in their folklore and rituals, in their celebration of the privileged moments …

Translation Of Media Terminology: Strategies And Problems, Ouafae Benzina
Translation Of Media Terminology: Strategies And Problems, Ouafae Benzina
Faits de Langue et Société (FLS)
This study is a reflection on the problem of translating media terminology. This is an area in which profusion of terminology is considerably given its accelerated development. Indeed, the progress that characterizes this field leads to the appearance of neologisms whose transposition into French is most often an extremely complicated task. Technological advances and the speed with which they develop have created a huge need for terminology. We, therefore, propose in our contribution to deal with strategies for translating media terminology and its problems
The Socio-Didactics Of Linguistic Representations Of The Amazigh Language, Ahmed Bououd
The Socio-Didactics Of Linguistic Representations Of The Amazigh Language, Ahmed Bououd
Faits de Langue et Société (FLS)
This study adopts a socio-didactic approach to analyze the influence of social representations on the learning of the Amazigh language within Moroccan universities. It aims to define the position of Amazigh within Morocco’s current multilingual landscape and to determine how the images (positive or negative) formed by students impact their motivation and desire for linguistic appropriation. The research addresses key questions: How is Amazigh perceived by learners—as an identity-based, official, or purely symbolic language? Furthermore, what is their level of motivation when faced with the competition of other languages such as Arabic, French, and English? This research is based on …

Faits de Langue et Société (FLS)
Since the current debate situates the concepts of heritage and development within an academic framework, it is essential to examine the disciplinary field in which they intersect. The central inquiry concerns the articulation of these two notions: how they forge systemic links and exert transformative social forces. These forces fundamentally target values whose impact must be measurable and verifiable through specific indicators. Consequently, this field necessitates a multi-perspective approach, integrating diverse research experiences and specialized expertise. Such transdisciplinarity requires rigorous coordination between these various analytical angles. These complexities justify a cautious and meticulous methodological intervention
