The Boston Chronicle was a daily newspaper published from 1915-1966 and often described as Boston’s “other Black newspaper.” These scanned images were made from Suffolk University’s microfilm reels (covering 1932-1960) that were originally purchased from the Boston Public Library. Some of the original microfilm images are of poor quality so not all of the content is readable or keyword searchable.

Mio, believing that his father was innocent of the crime for which he was executed, pursues his long search for proof of his innocence. Following new evidence, his path crosses that of Miriamne, a strange creature who lives with her family in the shadow of a towering bridge. The young people are drawn together through the tragedy of Mio's father, and the boy's bitterness prevents each from giving himself wholly to the other. Report On Historical Investigation Of Wounded Knee Battlefield Site, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota, Merrill J. Mattes
United States National Park Service: Publications
In April 1952, the National Park Service was requested by Representative E. Y. Berry of South Dakota, to consider the possibility of giving national recognition to Wounded Knee Battlefield, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation of South Dakota. Limited Date on the battlefield was presented on April 22 to the Advisory Board on National Parks, Historic Sites, Buildings, and Monuments. The Board asked that a field investigation and report be made by the Service to secure more comprehensive data. The Region Two office was requested to conduct this investigation by a note appended to Mr. Tolson's letter of May 9 …
