Secular authority, according to Luther, is in a sense the extension of patriarchal authority to the community. As such it is part of the present order of creation, by which Luther meant the conditions of human activity and existence in history. However, its constitutional form, like all other political settlements within the frame of Moral Law, was for him a matter of human expediency. For his part, Luther was content to accept the political settlement of his time.

Any true study of the doctrine of entire sanctification must being with the fact that God is a holy being. A study of this nature, except as it is related to the demand of God, has very little meaning. Dr. H.O. Wiley said that in the Father, holiness is original and underived, and in the Spirit, holiness is imparted. Holiness is a relative term when applied to man. Most of the major denominations of America are members of the National Council of the Churches of Christ in America. This means that they are represented in all the phases of the Council's work, including the evangelistic endeavors. The supreme purpose of the Church should be to bring a sinful world to believe in Jesus Christ as Saviour. The Joint Department of Evangelism was especially designed to lead the member denominations in this endeavor. It is important to study and note the measure of effectiveness which has characterized this most significant area of the National Council's work.

There are many people who, some time or another, need this type of counseling. Under the proper ministerial guidance they can meet the problems and come away with a sense of relief. The author made an attempt to show the particular ministry of the clergyman to those mentally and emotionally disturbed.

This honors project, submitted by Jo June De Weese on May 1, 1954, serves as a record of the author's creative and intellectual development over three semesters of study. Titled Through a Glass, Darkly, the collection is structured to mirror a transition in both poetic technique and philosophical outlook. The author explicitly notes a deliberate shift from the use of free verse and mood-driven pieces in the early sections toward more metrical, regular patterns in the final sections. This technical evolution is intended to parallel the author's move toward more positive and structured ideas.

The Boston Chronicle was a daily newspaper published from 1915-1966 and often described as Boston’s “other Black newspaper.” These scanned images were made from Suffolk University’s microfilm reels (covering 1932-1960) that were originally purchased from the Boston Public Library. Some of the original microfilm images are of poor quality so not all of the content is readable or keyword searchable.

A history of the initial Protestant endeavor in New Mexico has never been fully written, perhaps due in part to inadequate materials. Records were either lost or, what is probably closer to the truth, never made. There are sources of information concerning present day Protestant churches in New Mexico, and there are sufficient records available for a detailed study from 1875 to the present. But for the early territorial period from 1849 to the Civil War, records are apparently lacking for any detailed study of the earliest Protestant missions.

The Octofoil is the offical publication of the Ninth Infantry Division Association, Inc., an organization formed by the officers and men of the 9th Infantry Division in order to perpetuate the memory of fallen comrades, preserve the esprit de corps of the Division, promote peace and serve as an information bureau about the 9th Infantry Division. The Association is made up of 9th Infantry veterans from WWII and Vietnam, spouses, widows and lineal descendants.
