The emphasis will be on the chief content of each category of existence, namely the aesthetic, the ethical and the religious. We will treat the third category, the religious, according to Kierkegaard's own two-told division of the religious stage--Religion A and Religion B. It will be apparent in the pages which follow that the scope of this effort is narrowed to only the principal concepts of each category of existence. The paper attempts to gather the facts of the history of Lutheran Missions to Islam. The pursuit of these facts was hindered chiefly by two things. The first is that there is a lack or written material on this phase of missions. The Boston Chronicle was a daily newspaper published from 1915-1966 and often described as Boston’s “other Black newspaper.” These scanned images were made from Suffolk University’s microfilm reels (covering 1932-1960) that were originally purchased from the Boston Public Library. Some of the original microfilm images are of poor quality so not all of the content is readable or keyword searchable.

There is a wealth of material on medieval Anglo-Jewry in the public records (rolls) of twelfth and thirteenth century England. These documents refer primarily to the financial transactions of the English Jews. Usury was forbidden to Christians by both the Church and the laws of the realm. The injunctions against usury, however, did not apply to the Jews.The Jews of this period were considered to be the private property of the king and were forbidden from engaging in all economic pursuits with the exception of money-lending. The crown benefited from the arrangement by applying heavy taxes on the Jews.
