The 1952 Presidential campaign ushered into national prominence the Democratic nominee, Adlai Ewing Stevenson.

His sudden and dramatic emergence as an important factor in world politics was due in part to his unique oratory. Dynamic in style and content, his speeches commanded the rapt attention of the American people for three intense months during which he delivered over two hundred and fifty. Of interest and importance is the new insight into national problems that he gave to the American voter as a result of these orations.

Therefore, our procedure will be to examine the various Pauline writings to determine Paul's advocacy of grace and the implications of this in three areas. We will introduce our study with an examination of the background for the problem of Jewish legalism in the early church. This will include a brief appraisal of the constituency of the early church, expansion to the Gentiles, Paul's missionary labors and resultant opposition from the Judaistic party, and a brief preliminary view of Paul's effort to deal with this problem.

Acknowledging [the Southwest's] Catholic heritage, all artists who portrayed this land could not fail to show the influence and importance of the Catholic Church. In search of a subject for this thesis, my curiosity was aroused to find out just how the Church was portrayed in the fiction of the Southwest; no such study had been done before on that subject. Upon investigation, another point of interest developed: of all of the fiction writers studied for that particular area, only Paul Horgan is Catholic. The Octofoil is the offical publication of the Ninth Infantry Division Association, Inc., an organization formed by the officers and men of the 9th Infantry Division in order to perpetuate the memory of fallen comrades, preserve the esprit de corps of the Division, promote peace and serve as an information bureau about the 9th Infantry Division. The Association is made up of 9th Infantry veterans from WWII and Vietnam, spouses, widows and lineal descendants.

Charles Tomlinson Griffes becomes a remarkable figure in American music when one considers the musical influences which surrounded him. The first of these influences, and the one of longest tenure, was that of his piano teacher, a Miss Mary Selena Broughton. An eccentric woman and, considering the times, an extremely unorthodox teacher, she instructed Griffes in piano for twelve years. Throughout Germany the singing society (usually a Maennerchor), is an important institution in the cultural life of every, hamlet, town, and city. During the middle of the nineteenth century, many such societies sprang up throughout America. California had a liberal share of these during the pioneer days. A philosophical analysis of the thesis of the metaphysic of the non-dual that "the world we are confronted with is nothing but words, words, words" is a difficult one upon which to embark. The difficulty does not lie in assuming this argument, but in examining it from the opponent's position. It is equivalent to an evaluation of the New York Giants in Brooklyn.
