The purpose of this capstone project is to enhance art and creative expressive engagement within an inpatient pediatric setting. A primary focus for occupational therapy in children’s hospitals is on activities of daily living and other tasks associated with independent living (O’Brien & Kuhaneck, 2020). Creative activities such as art have been historically used throughout occupational therapy, however, the use of art and creative expression has declined in recent decades (Müllersdorf & Ivarsson, 2016). This article by Caleb Troy Horton accounts Frederick Douglass’s work with abolitionist allies and Rhode Island Anti-Slavery Society leaders during the affairs of the Dorr Rebellion—with a particular focus on petitioning the People’s Convention in the autumn of 1841 to allow Black male participation in their referendum and to exclude a white-only clause in the new Rhode Island State Constitution (a.k.a. the People’s Constitution).

Over the past two decades, churches have expanded their pastoral staff to include executive pastors (XP) to support lead pastors (LP) by mitigating stress and enhancing effectiveness (Krenz-Muller, 2022; Tidwell, 2020) in finances, facilities, and governmental entities, and staff oversight and development. This study involved an examination of the relationship between the emotional intelligence (EI) levels of XPs, using the TEIQue-SF (Cooper & Petrides, 2010), and their perceived ministerial effectiveness (ME) as assessed by LPs on the Ministerial Effectiveness Survey (MES; Dobrotka & Frisinger, 2024). Рассматривается идея создания наиболее полного справочника по синтезу русского глагола, в структуру которого интегрирована обучающая база. Через микро- и макроструктуру словаря пользователь полу-чает необходимые инструменты для решения актуальных задач синтеза. Раз-работанные алгоритмы представляют собой этапы решения поставленной за-дачи: от микроструктуры словаря к приложениям и блокам глагольных форм в макроструктуре. Katarzyna Bartoszyńska prefaces her innovative project pairing a series of “anomalous” (or “freakish”) Polish and Irish novels with epigraphs from Laurence Sterne's Tristram Shandy on the power of storytelling (“let the people tell their stories their own way”) and Tennessee Williams's A Streetcar Named Desire about Stanley's Polishness (“They're something like the Irish, aren't they? [. . .] Only not so—highbrow?”). The seeming disconnect between these two quotations signals a central tension between the universal and the particular at the heart of Estranging the Novel: Poland, Ireland, and Theories of World Literature. This project investigates representations of the ecological and Imperialist relationships in a selection of serialized crime fiction texts: Mary Elizabeth Braddon’s Lady Audley’s Secret, Wilkie Collins’ The Moonstone, and Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes adventures (appearing in The Strand Magazine: An Illustrated Monthly beginning in 1891). I examine serialized crime fiction published in the nineteenth century as a map of the ecological and Imperialist relationships established through the nineteenth-century British publishing industry. Serialized crime fiction was both popular and profitable, representing not only commercial success but one that tapped into the reading populace’s imagination. Readers craved serialized stories …

The current rates of provider burnout are at an all-time high, and our healthcare system is currently seeing numerous providers leave the system. The U.S. Surgeon General has deemed burnout rates at crisis levels, creating an exigency for research and work to help ameliorate this issue. One main issue at the heart of provider burnout is the idea of meaning and purpose in one’s professional life, and Functional Medicine methodology argues that it provides the means by which it can mitigate burnout while improving professional fulfillment and joy through deeper connections with patients. The present study investigated the communication Black women ‘firsts’ of Martinsville, Virginia received and how resilience is communicated throughout one’s lives. Seven Black women who once worked or lived in Martinsville, Virginia were interviewed to discover the resilience themes through their professional lives and how resilience was a factor in how these women became ‘firsts’ in their respective fields. The study's findings show that certain personality and communication traits define and equip Black women to succeed and overcome adversities in today’s society. Popular science fiction film and television media commonly deploy narratives and images of prisons and policing, and these discourses in turn are inseparable from racial formations. At the same time, many fans and theorists view science fiction as a genre with immense potential for offering critical consideration of the difference between the fictional and the real world. In The Rebel, Albert Camus (1956) contends that every act of rebellion is a simultaneous refusal against injustice and an affirmation of a value.
