Selama 7 tahun terakhir, Tiongkok sedang menghadapi penurunan angka kelahiran yang cukup signifikan. Pada tahun 2023, Tiongkok tidak lagi menduduki peringkat sebagai negara dengan populasi terbesar di dunia. Mengamati keseriusan masalah ini, peneliti tertarik untuk menyelidiki faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan penurunan angka kelahiran yang signifikan di Tiongkok dari 2017 hingga 2023. Pada prakiraan cuaca musim dingin Belanda oleh media Weeronline, terdapat variasi adjektiva bermakna ‘suhu rendah’ untuk menggambarkan kondisi musim dingin, yang seringkali menimbulkan pengertian serupa antara satu dan lainnya. Dengan korpus berupa prakiraan cuaca musim dingin 2023/2024 oleh Weeronline, penelitian ini menelaah komponen makna serta relasi makna pada adjektiva bermedan makna ‘suhu rendah’. Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan paparan untuk memperjelas adjektiva beranah ‘suhu rendah’. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the study is framed by the Skopos theory and ISO 24495-1:2023 - Plain Language principles. The Skopos theory stresses the translation's intended purpose, advocating a functional approach that enhances the target text's communicative efficacy. ISO 24495-1:2023 ensures legal documents are clear, concise, and accessible, maintaining their legal integrity. Existing heuristic models primarily frame suicide as a consequence of mental health disorders or economic conditions, reinforcing a dichotomy: one perspective views suicide as a psychological and/or psychiatric phenomenon, while the other treats it as a sociological fact. This article examines Tek Seng Bio (德圣庙) Temple within the context of the temple as the symbol of local history among Chinese Indonesians in Cikarang. Established in 1900 by Tjio Lo Weh (蒋維内) from Fujian, the temple marked the inception of a Chinese settlement in North Cikarang. Unique in its devotion to Lín Tài Shī Gōng/Liem Tay Soe Kong (林太师公) as their main deity, Tek Seng Bio Temple originally functioned as a private familial place of worship. The research investigates how to create a tourism destination image on Instagram from a social semiotic perspective. Data comprises 17 photos of Blue Flame posted by 7 Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs). Applying the Visual Grammar framework by Kress & Leeuwen (2021), particularly the representational meta function, and Speech Functions by Halliday & Matthiessen (2014), this study finds how verbal texts support visual modes in creating the image of the Blue Flame at Ijen Geopark. Studies show that individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity also experience trauma and mental illnesses. Despite this evidence, many resources provided through state welfare services seldom allocate sufficient funds and personnel to help address mental health. This study investigates the relationship between housing insecurity and trauma for adult women who have tried to access assistance throughout Southern California. To do this, I conducted in-depth interviews and DSM-5 questionnaires with twenty-six women during the summer of 2023 and 2024 via Zoom. In the earlier works of manga artist and author Itagaki Paru, animal characters are used to prompt a discussion of the uchi/soto ("in-group"/"out-group") dynamic present in Japanese society. Throughout her most popular work, Beastars, and its supplemental short story collection Beast Complex, Itagaki tackles binary thinking and in-group versus out-group social politics using a blatantly obvious, yet nuanced and subtle herbivore-versus-carnivore, predator-versus-prey metaphor. Spiro Agnew, Richard Nixon’s often-mocked Vice President, played a critical role in building the right-wing, populist base of white working- and middle-class supporters for the Republican party. Early in his vice presidency, Agnew used his access to media to cultivate mistrust of the same media, focusing especially on television political analysis, the Washington Post, and the New York Times. This article explores the distinct cinematographic style of classical Hollywood cinematographer (and briefly director) Karl Freund throughout his Hollywood studio film career (1930-1950). After leaving the German studio UFA, Freund spent two decades in the Hollywood studio system, known for its comprehensible narrative and visual style and hierarchical mode of production, which were considered constraints to the emergence of a unique visual style from any one filmmaker.
