The Seaside Resorts Of Mohammedia, Ahmed Aït Moussa Jun 2026

The Seaside Resorts Of Mohammedia, Ahmed Aït Moussa

BOUHOUT

This article analyzes the seaside resorts of Mohammedia and their development under the influence of Casablanca’s metropolitan proximity and the attraction of the Atlantic coastline. It examines the dual process of coastal urbanization: an early, often unplanned occupation of the littoral through cabins and leisure residences, and a later, more organized development through housing estates and higher-standard second homes. The study describes the main resort areas, including Mannesman, Pont-Blondin, Ouled Hammimoun, Monica-plage, Yassmine, and Siesta, and highlights the social profile of their users, who largely belong to affluent and educated groups from Casablanca and the surrounding region. It also discusses …

Lear's Madness: A Rhetoric Of The Unconscious, Driss Adli Jun 2026

Lear's Madness: A Rhetoric Of The Unconscious, Driss Adli

BOUHOUT

This article studies Lear’s madness in Shakespeare’s King Lear as a rhetoric of the unconscious. It argues that Lear’s mad speech should not be read only through Elizabethan psychology or as a simple consequence of excessive passion, but as a meaningful discourse that reveals hidden psychic materials, memories, conflicts, and truths. Drawing on psychoanalytic perspectives, especially Freud’s reflections on dreams and the unconscious, the article shows how Lear’s language transforms madness into a mode of revelation. Through images, metaphors, repetitions, and apparently disordered statements, Lear exposes injustice, hypocrisy, social violence, and the hidden tensions of the play. The study therefore …

The Myth Of Babel In Renaissance Reflections On Language, Oum El Banine Zhiri Jun 2026

The Myth Of Babel In Renaissance Reflections On Language, Oum El Banine Zhiri

BOUHOUT

This article examines the role of the myth of Babel in Renaissance reflections on language. Focusing on Claude Duret’s encyclopedic work on the history and diversity of languages, it analyzes how Renaissance thought reinterpreted the biblical account of Babel in relation to the search for an original, universal, and perfect language. The study discusses the central place accorded to Hebrew, the influence of Christian Kabbalah, and the tension between theological explanations of linguistic diversity and emerging humanist, historical, and anthropological approaches to languages. By comparing the treatment of Hebrew, Greek, and other languages, the article shows how the Renaissance both …

On Semantic Incorporation, Mohammed Ghalim Jun 2026

On Semantic Incorporation, Mohammed Ghalim

BOUHOUT

This article analyzes the concept of tadmin, or semantic incorporation, in Arabic linguistic and grammatical thought. It first reviews how classical grammarians understood tadmin as a mechanism through which a verb, particle, or construction carries an additional meaning or behaves syntactically like another expression. The study then examines the relations between tadmin, substitution, metaphorical extension, analogy, and syntactic interpretation, drawing on examples from traditional Arabic grammar and Qur’anic exegesis. It highlights the disagreements among grammarians concerning whether such usages should be explained through analogy, semantic expansion, or exceptional construction. The article shows that tadmin is not merely a formal grammatical …

The Influence Of Arabic Poetry On Hebrew Poetry: The Model Of Hebrew Muwashshahat, Saadia El Montassir Jun 2026

The Influence Of Arabic Poetry On Hebrew Poetry: The Model Of Hebrew Muwashshahat, Saadia El Montassir

BOUHOUT

This article examines the influence of Arabic poetry on Hebrew poetry through the model of the Hebrew muwashshah, with particular attention to the work of Judah Halevi. It situates Hebrew poetic production in medieval al-Andalus within a broad context of cultural contact, linguistic proximity, and literary exchange between Arabic and Hebrew traditions. The study shows how Hebrew poets adopted and adapted Arabic poetic forms, metres, themes, and aesthetic conventions, especially the muwashshah, while giving them new functions within Hebrew literary expression. By comparing poetic structures, cultural references, and modes of imitation and transformation, the article highlights the depth of Arab-Jewish …

Narrative Creativity And The Dialectic Of Reality In Roa Bastos, Bouchaa El Aoufi Jun 2026

Narrative Creativity And The Dialectic Of Reality In Roa Bastos, Bouchaa El Aoufi

BOUHOUT

This article studies narrative creativity and the dialectic of reality in the work of Augusto Roa Bastos. It examines the writer’s relation to exile, political commitment, historical memory, and the representation of Paraguayan reality. The article shows how Roa Bastos transforms exile from a biographical condition into a literary and ideological perspective, allowing him to address alienation, dictatorship, resistance, and national identity. Particular attention is given to the interaction between reality and fiction, especially in the reading of *Yo el Supremo*, where history, power, imagination, and narrative invention are interwoven. The study argues that Roa Bastos’s fiction offers a distinctive …
