The Hole, The Lake, And The Mountain—Encouraging Insight, Wisdom, And Awareness: The Emerging Concept Of Lightenment™, Andrea Marion
Dartmouth College Master’s Theses
ABSTRACT
This thesis deals with the possibility that the emerging concept of Major Mindful Moments — Lightenment™ — could further drive mindfulness from a tangential activity to a more central societal concept. I coin Lightenment™, an arising wisdom related to the mindful state as a thought process that positively affects people's happiness and lessens suffering and changes how they interact and behave in the world. These changes, on a broad scale, affect culture and influence the world. Enlightenment, a concept that dates back thousands of years, is a state of continuing wisdom as opposed to Lightenment™ 's intermittent wisdom. I …

The Tradition Of Illusion: Guitar Arrangement As A Post-Canonical Patchwork, Katalin Koltai
Soundboard Scholar
This paper proposes an underpinning terminology for scholarly discussions of contemporary arrangement practices in the field of classical guitar performance. The introduction provides some historical foundations for the topic, aiming to present the roots of different approaches and methods in the work of important guitar arrangers. The paper continues by contextualizing arrangement processes within linguistics and language philosophy, discussing the topic of translation, and giving an overview of relevant terminologies. The centre of the paper is the theoretical investigation of arrangement and the identification of translating acts related to musical space, instrumental choreography, texture, timbre, or a combination of those, …

STEM for Success Resources
Objective: The primary aim of this project was to develop the "Online Professional Learning Exchange" (OPLE), a platform designed to support blended learning and facilitate a shift towards a Community of Practice (CoP) model. By integrating face-to-face, blended, and fully online learning situations, this move was intended to enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of professional development. Theoretical Framework: The project was grounded in theories of adult learning and community of practice. It utilized these frameworks to foster an environment where educators could collaboratively design and engage with learning materials. This approach aimed to promote sustained professional growth and mastery of …

Juliet Stuart Poyntz disappeared in June 1937 from Manhattan, New York. She was never seen again. The disappearance was not reported until December and the police did not begin a formal investigation until January 1938. Sick from lupus, without her prescriptions, the 50-year-old Poyntz was likely already dead, but her friends did not believe it was because of her untreated disease, it was more likely the Soviet Secret police killed her. One friend in particular, anarchist Carlo Tresca, was very loud in accusing the Soviet Union of her abduction and murder. Tresca gave a press statement, testified before a grand …
